You'll have a whole lot of new Aussie fans jumping on the bandwagon now that you've acquired Giddey.
I understand Bulls fans being sad to see Caruso go; he is the perfect defensive role-player and would be a starter and basically any team in the NBA.
But Giddey, despite the ups and downs of the just-completed season, is still young and refining his game - he can level up for sure.
He's actually not a million miles from Caruso in some respects; unselfish, wants to win, a little unfashionable but highly effective in the right context.
Giddey needs to be the primary ball-handler for his team; SGA filled that role at OKC and Giddey wasn't able to play his most natural game.
I have mixed feelings but I hope this trade will be possitive.

I like the move, love Caruso but giddey goes with the the timeline of our young guys and gives us a zo replacement if he’s gone after this year barring who knows if he’s as effective or even healthy all year. People hate I swear

Love this trade for the Bulls. Giddey has a lot of potential and is a triple double threat every night if he handles the ball. He is a true PG that the Bulls need. Defense and shot making will come. He's only 21

Giddey was better than Zo ever was his second year in OKC. The Bulls got an undervalued top prospect in exchange for a 30 year limited player on an expiring contract. Be less passive aggressive and be happy.

I think it’s a pretty good trade. AC’s aging body is not holding up well with his style of play. OKC will be lucky if he can contribute much in the playoffs. Giddy is only 21 and has already proven to have a lot of potential as a playmaker, which is what the bulls need.

This is a good trade. Caruso make game stagnant. He is a ok defender trust me. He only guards people his size good but he is slow. Giddy is much better and fluid in games. Trust me this is the best trade I have ever seen in bulls

Giddey: Only 21 and has MUCH room for improvement. For example, already a good playmaker, and can develop a three, can develop an offense, can be a good defender one day, veterans can give him some advice too.
Caruso: Is a great teammate and defender, and seems to care a lot about the game and I REALLY respect that! It’s hard to seem him go… But he is pushing 30 and has 1 year left on his contract.
I trust that Giddey can become something special, other than him sleeping with minors. He may not be a superstar one day, but could be an important piece to Chicago. I feel delusional as hell saying that, but I believe in him. I hope he grows a lot as a person, and an NBA player.

Not happy about the trade. We’ve seen over the past couple years what teams have won championships. Celtics and nuggets and even contenders like Minnesota have shown that you should have height and have multiple defenders but also multiple offensive players as well with at least 2 stars. Giddey definitely has height and is talented offensively but lacks defense. What makes the trade bad is Caruso is literally the prototype for a player on a championship team. He has offense and defense and has enough height to get by. Caruso is the one player you keep who perfectly compliments Giddey. His defense and Giddey offense would’ve been perfect but now you lose that 2 way player instead.

Hes a 6'8 PG, insane iq, moves it quick and attacks the rim/finishes incredibly well. The defence have to collapse on those guys or its a bucket so open looks will be everywhere.
That year we started so well with Demar...that had so much to do with lonzo's quick/smart movement... Giddey does this better imo.

Saying that, Josh Giddey is a promising young player that is only 21. He needs to work on his three point shooting, but if he can do that he will be a there tier scorer.
Although AK/ME continues to lose trades, hopefully this is a sign of going young and more trades to come. We all love Caruso, but we weren’t going to re-sign him so trading him was the right move.
