It was not I like how he shows his vulnerabilities in his boxing but he does used a jab a good long or high guard and he is often only in position to not throw he just doesnt use his reach well with his hands. He is great with kicks but like all mma fighters they have very poor boxing skills.

Jones also made Tom defend an interim championship which is the first time since Renan Barao a million years ago, and is openly saying he'll retire if he beats Stipe. Jones is the paper champ, not Tom.

At LHW you can see the clear improvements in level, though his defense did level up especially his slips and counters. Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka can attest to that.

I like Alex but his hands down Defense won't work as well as he'll hope in boxing. It'll take him up, but only so far. I still want to watch him climb the ladder though. He has the movement, which a lot of heavyweights don't because of how fat they are.

Poatan é muito brabo, mas pro boxe tem que melhorar, um bom lutador de boxe vai tirar proveito da pouca movimentação da cabeça, vc vê que Igor acha o jab muito fácil. De toda forma ótimo sparing, até porque ele tá preparando pruma luta de MMA!
Todo treino q ele faz é exclusivo para o MMA, ele já falou isso uma vez. Pra se dar bem no boxe puro ele precisa tá focado só nisso.

When Alex was kickboxing he was never leg kicking people much. He was known as the boxer in kickboxing.
In boxing you can see his improvements, check his sparring with Demsey McKean. He looks better than Ngannou in boxing.

The pressure and power of Poatan made Igor reluctant to throw with power because he was getting hit back with heat.

Alex is smarter than i thought. He is looking for a boxing match and big payday but put 4 year old sparring video to confuze his possible opponents.
Poatan meu ídolo, tu tem um controle de distância e uma movimentação sinistra, o poder de ataque nem se fala, o mais eficaz do ufc. Porém continue treinando boxe, e especialmente ele, acho sua defesa muito aberta para muito angulo, claro que o mlk tem que se expor para tentar pegar voce nessa abertura, porém mesmo assim se o cara tiver uma movimentação boa, consegue entrar. O boxe especificamente vai te ajudar descobrir artimanhas para cobrir melhor o rosto, usar esse perry melhor e na hora certa. Seu ofensivo nesse treino ta sinistro!! Mas deu pra ver jabs entrando com mais facilidade que no mma, por envolver só a mão tb, por isso que o sparring específico de boxe ia ajudar de mais! Tmj !! Watching his amateur boxiing fights I've noticed he used to keep his hands much higher. I think he has the ability to do it but for some reason chooses not to. Maybe he preffers better eye sight and accuricy at the cost of beig more exposed, I would like to hear from him.

And this is him when he was a middleweight sparring a solid heavyweight boxer whose only loss is a 10th round TKO to Kuzmin. Kuzmin is the guy who sparked Joe Joyce out in round 1 in the amateurs btw with 12 ounce gloves.

If anyone from the ufc that can transition into boxing, its Alex Pareira and Ilia. I think they have the calibre to hang around with the big boys in the WBC, with some good defense training.
In the WBC? Why the WBC? Belts in boxing are meaningless mate.
Every best champ of every division has a different belt, the WBC is nothing special other than the WBC organization looking to have cashcow champs and to protect them from anybody legit.
4:51 Pereira has to fix that problem that everytime he gets rushed with punches, he freeze and just take them, he does this in multiple fights, Izzy, Prochazka, Bruno, the sparring with Sean.
That shit got heated in the later rounds.
