3-year Prima owner here. The key takeaway should be "you need to register an account to use the app". About 90% of the settings are only accessible through the app. The app is reliant on VA's auth server. And they already have a track record of taking their servers down for 2 or 3 months, effectively half-bricking everyone's machines. Also, the just released LMLM revision added a gravimetric dosing option so it outclasses any version of VA Prima now.
The only issue i see with this machine doing both pour overs and espresso is the water composition. Water for espresso for best flavor is dramatically different than water for pour overs. I love the concept though. Would be cool if it took water for pour over from a different reservoir dedicated to pour over coffee.
@@gregmcgarry1 Yes different water. Water composition has a huge impact on flavor and the care of your espresso machine. If you have too much calcium in your water even if it’s well filtered and tastes fine in your filter coffee you may be causing damage or scale build up. This will lead to more unnecessary descaling and cleaning and bad tasting espresso. Your water composition is the most important component to good tasting coffee. Check out Lotus Water or Third Wave Water and do simple tests with making coffee with a gallon of distilled water with those water additives. Compare it to your coffee brewed with your filtered tap. Huge improvements in the quality and taste of your coffee.
@@greysuit17 Ah. I thought TWW was actually water sold in bottles. Did not realise it was an additive for distilled water. I live in Ireland, our water quality is good but I can have a scale issue for sure. $2 /litre for TWW! Those guys are making bank!!
@@gregmcgarry1 yeah it’s pricey but if you go down the rabbit hole of water it gets complicated and you can make your own. I distill all my water at honey and use the Lotus Water drops after brewing. Except in my espresso machines I use two different recipes specifically for espresso.
I'm having a hard time deciding between the Appia life single group or the Eagle One Prima single group, for my coffee cart.. Which one do you think can handle 200-350 double shot coffees per day? I'm only making 12oz to go lattes btw.
This has been the most problematic coffee machine produced in recent times. So much so that some of us have given up on fixes and dealing with product support that we have to sell it in the end at a major loss. I will never ever buy a VA coffee machine anymore. :-(
I heard there were huge issues with mobile app connectivity and etc. - we can relate just with dealing with a Prima EXP model past few months and it was smooth. I understand the frustration, sorry to hear the struggles.
Same here. But I kept mine as the loss on sale was something I could not bear. So I stuck to it until I got all of my issues fixed, it took over a year. I am now stuck with it but it's something I am ready to endure.
@@drazenbabich yes this is a multiple thousand dollar machine, but still has plastic parts. We have the VA black eagle Maverick and even there the steam wand lever is plastic.

Thanks for adding important details regarding mobile app! We will check the new revision.
Thank you for sharing this very important information under a video which in my opinion should be seen as an advertisement.
Ales you rock !!! Beautiful video about an amazing and super cool looking machine !! Love this color 💚❤️💪🏻 PURE BREW I love it ❤️❤️!!!

Can you brew and steam milk with this NEO boiler meaning single boiler?
can you flow control?
Nice, would love to have one!
Do you guys know when we can expect more info about the E1 Prima PRO? Looks like they took some tech from the Maverick.
Does this fit a small cafe

? Different water? Come on!! If I’m making tea or coffee… my source is the kitchen tap, which is well filtered.

Ahoj, už se konečně naučili dělat i Volumetriku ? a nebo ty shoty budou lítat jako u první verze ? :-D 35, 42, 38, 46 a pod ...
What water are you using in your studio for the tank to accommodate Espresso, and brew pours?
I don’t know why companies forcing users to use an app to control espresso machine, this a big break dealer for me!
Coooool and yahhhh keeep it
The purebrew basket is a solution in search of a problem

Can an average person buy this?
Maybe, but the investment is spread over 30 thousand coffees, and then one coffee (without coffee beans and milk) costs less than 25 cents)
