Season opened Tuesday in Connecticut. I caught 2 keepers yesterday, cooking them tonight.

Sand crabs are great bait. Best blackfish to date came on a sand crab. They are used/can purchase in tackle shops Delaware south.
They seem to be much more pleasant to use than stinky green crabs

thats a pretty cool fish to have around when you are not getting into the stripers! They look like they can pull on the line too!
Yeah man! They fight well on light tackle, most of the time you snag them..so you know how a foul hooked fish always fights better 😂😂

The better bait is Asian crabs though. Give it a try, You don't get them at the store and need to harvest them yourself. And yes Sand crabs work too.
