As a 61 year old I still remember Jigsaw's version of this from the mid 70s.This version is very in keeping with the 90s and sounds a lot better now (in my opinion) than it did in the 90s, but I suppose getting on a bit mellows you out!. Another bonus in this video is seeing the London Skyline from back in the day, very nostalgic.
Totally Agree.. I'm wondering the same thing, I'm usually into D&B, RnB, and Dub Reggae.. but there's something about this tune that just does it for me.
1974 and "Candlewick Green" did this as a hopeful act on, was it, Opportunity Knocks? What a version this was and has anyone had as sexy eyes as Debsy?
@@RazorFriendlyA lot of videos that were gone for years, or were territory-restricted have been reappearing on RUclips for a while now. I wonder what changed.
@@RazorFriendly Almost all videos from the early to mid 90s First Avenue Records artists were available on RUclips, but their mid to late 90s videos were not. Now, almost all of those videos are back on RUclips.
This is how to do a cover version, this band oozes coolness ❤
How good where st Etienne . I would have been 11 when this came out . Used to listen to them with my older brother. Still here in 2024
No one cares. Please, learn how punctuation works. You missed the mark, at least twice. Have some self-respect and use English properly.

One of 90's little gems...
The original by Jigsaw is epic.
a time that has sadly gone... certainly halcyon days
sarah was such a doll 😍
Many memories of post evening/morning at Club UK, Wansworth, and let's just say, listening until sleep took over and the night before wore off!

Not Jigsaw. Camberwick Green
@@taxidude Jigsaw version released in the UK in 1974, look it up
@@taxidude It's because Camberwick Green had ex members of Jigsaw in the band.
The Jigsaw version is brilliant with a fantastic arrangement.
Sarah, Debsy, Pete & Bob sublime and brilliant as usual, halcyon days…
Bliss-inducing!!
This is one of these songs that I REALLY shouldn't like AT ALL! But I just REALLY love it! There's just something about it! SO GOOD!
Yeah, it's super simple but the opening keyboard riff is great.

Being from Lancashire there is not a cat in halls chance that I could say or sing 'advantage' or advawntage like Sarah does

I used to be obsessed with St. Etienne, now I am infatuated with modern-day Cannons. I find similarities ✨️
Why do I have the sudden urge to listen to Cathy Dennis?
So this video was uploaded over 12 years, but it has now just recently reappeared after it was taken off RUclips for years.
It's like the Event Horizon of music videos

Debsie was the best singer, Sarah was the beauty and the personality that sold the band.
Wow! A Remake.....originally done by "Jigsaw" in the 1970's....
Sounds good!
