I run two S1 Pros in a stereo rig for ambient acoustic guitar and they sound amazing. In a small venue the sound just spreads and it doesn't matter where the audience is, they get the full stereo effect. Can't wait to get my hands on these!

I have the BOSE S1 PRO and it does sound great. I'm just in the process of making it 'wireless' by using my Line 6 G10 Remote and some Sennheiser wireless mics and receivers, but BOSE have just done all the work and produced this unit. DAMN! Great review.
I was wondering if I could hook my laptop up to a audio interface and then use the bose wireless to have a cable free connection from Interface to speaker. It should work in theory right?
@@Rouwiinator If you're talking about the new S1 Pro+ with the wireless transmitters, I think the transmitters will be matched for guitar and mic impedance rather than the line level output of an audio interface. What would work are the Sennheiser G1 transmitters and K1 receivers I'm using as they are marked 'mic / line' on the input. The only way to find out whether the Bose transmitters would work ok would be to try them.
@@fredflintstone1428 thanks for the quick response. I just found a video by Bose confirming that with the XLR wireless you can change between mic and line level.
Interesting stuff! I don’t know how I feel about these all in one types of speakers but I think this would be good for small one man gigs. I could see this holding down the fort easily in a smaller place.
Unless I'm mistaken this is the first time I've heard you singing on this channel... you should do it more! OMG! I remember - OK here it comes, Bird's about to tell another one of his recollections so if you get bored easily, you can skip this - I was in a regional band named Kudzu in the 70's and we had a PA with 8 1208 voice of the theater cabinets that were huge, a 600 watt McIntosh amp for the bass speakers, a crossover feeding the horns from a 200 watt McIntosh. Unbelievable PA. Literally thousands of feet of wire to hook it up and took two roadies a half a day to get it ready for that night. Fast forward to today where the one man/woman band is more likely what you'll see. I wound up years later (90's) doing a single act using backing tracks as the "Karaoke" thing was about to come in but the difference was it was my music using my tracks. My set up was much simpler than the Kudzu PA was, but still involved two speakers and having to be wired up with a small mixer and mike and mini disc for the music. I could set that one up in less than an hour, more like 30 minutes. Now with this, you could be up and playing music in 10 minutes, no wires. This is absurd lol! It's amazing (yes, I was a teenager in the 50's) what has happened to music tech in the last 20 years or so. Those Mc amps were the best you could buy back then, and powerhouses for the time. One weighed 130 pounds and the other almost 100 pounds. Now they have amps in the 1000's of watts weighing almost nothing lol, but I'm betting they don't have the sound the Mac's had. These almost make me want to go back on the road again lol! But oh my, those were some fun days! More than 50 years worth. I'm retired to my Mt. Cabin in NC now at 78 where I make my youtube vids, and I'm enjoying this part of my life as well. Nice video my friend!
It sounds really good, I admit, but I think the JBL Party Box sounds even better. It works particularly well with modeling. I can't see myself switching to anything other than the JBL Party Box for now. I even tried the Audio Case S10, which is supposed to be amazing, but I found it to be inferior in terms of bass compared to the JBL.

I got the Bose S1 Pro+ and am impressed as far as it goes. I'm running an acoustic through it and found overwhelming bass with resulting feedback forced me to cut volume. With bass dialed down, mids were lost because the Bose S1 Pro+ has no mid control. As a result, I am now running through Fishman AFX EQ so I can cut bass without losing mids. Additionally, I have a TC Electronic Body Rez, and a TC Electronic Flashback in the chain. Pedals are powered by a Volto Power supply which combine to make the S1 Pro+ sound fantastic. I am using a DPA 4099 condenser mike connected to a Bose T4S then connected to channel 3 on the S1 Pro + with a TRS cable. My question relates to the best way to set the volume. Should I set the S1 Pro volume to 50% then use the mixer to set the final volume or should I set the SI Pro volume higher or lower and adjust the volume on the mixer to get the level I want? Everything on the mixer is zero EQ since the whole purpose of this expensive microphone is to allow the guitar to sound the way it sounds unamplified except amplified and of course there is no EQ adjustment on the guitars when played unamplified. Or should I skip the mixer altogether and plus the mike directly into the S1 (I have external phantom power) and just use that volume control? I am using the mike on my Martin 000-28EC; Ramirez Classical and Cordoba crossover. Thanks for any input you may provide.
