I won’t lie…this looks very promising. One piece was the last anime I would see actually fit a live action setting but for some reason this is looking more and more likely to be actually good. The cast the setting looks honestly promising (even though Arlong and shanks kinda look weird to me) I’m really looking forward to this

Spotted all of them besides dragon, I think the cavendish poster is the thing that caught me most of guard though. Definitely didn't expect them to be doing world bundling (Easter eggs) for that deep into the series.

This is the best anime adaptation ive seen. Masterpiece !! This is old school story about frendship, leadership, and victory of true values ! Im gonna rewatch it for sure.
I am probably gonna get destroyed over this take but this Live Action Adaptation has gotten me more invested in the franchise than anything else, having watched the 4Kids Dub as a kid, Funi Dub as an Adult, clips of iconic moments, and a gaggle of my friends telling me to read the manga.
Nothing wrong with that, everyone has their preferences. You are enjoying the story, that’s a win. The only people that would complain are the same ones that haven’t touched grass in half a year
Iñaki was the best casting for Luffy. The way he cheerily and earnestly says “the line,” puts a big ol’ smile on my face. He’s not trying to impress anyone, he’s just being himself, and it’s a real “Get on board, or get out of the way” moment.

His spirit sounds exactly like Luffy. But he's more intelligent than anime Luffy, which I think works better for live-action. We wouldn't want people hating Luffy for being so dumb. Anime Luffy wouldn't know the word mutiny.

Watching this trailer again makes me happy that it proved to be a great live action remake.
I’ve only been through one ep so far but i must say the actors of Zoro Nami & Morgan done an excellent job. Also loved the little scene with Baroque Works.👍

That gatling was beautiful 😢. The effects on buggy look great. The more outlandish things (like fishmen) were never gonna look perfect live action, and thats when its important to remember this isnt trying to be a shot for shot remake of the anime/manga. It's its own thing. Let's let it be itself instead of comparing it and I think we'll have a good time. I'm so excited to watch this.
My only gripe seems to be the fight fx. Specifically sanji. It seemed like he just floated in to kick a Fishman in one scene.

I applaud them for going practical for the fishman I just think they should have gone the puppet animatronic route. Sure Arlong fights would need to be creatively shot but at least he wouldn't look like a guy in a goofy rubber mask.
My problem with Arlong is that he's not as big as I thought he would be or maybe Luffy is too tall, I don't even know. In 2:09, they look about the same height. Otherwise, trailer looks good.
I can't believe there are people who still hating this series. Why does it have to compare with anime since both are different medium. As Oda said it is his last try to make one piece more global . And he has been in this process from the beginning. It doesn't have to be exactly like the anime, just need to capture the emotions of onepiece and deliver it to non fans. And I think this LA is capable for that. Love the cast and crew. Also their effort for this dream is praiseworthy. Katta waiting for season 2❤

good luck bro. One Piece OG anime is old now so you may try to keep up with old-style anime at the beginning of the series. Up to currently, it is still one of my favorite anime ever. The only flaw I experienced is the slow pacing sometimes and thats only it
The actor who played Gol D. Roger nailed the laugh. It wasn't just a trivial laugh. It looks like the laugh of a man with a hidden agenda and seeing his plan getting fulfilled.
SPOILER: He wants to start the great pirate era to inspire the next Joy Boy among them. That plan starts with him announcing the "find it, take it" pertaining to his treasure on his well televised execution.

INCREDIBLE. The fight scenes feature tons of impressive stunts and are dense with background action. The sets & costumes look amazing. Every actor is turning in a phenomenal performance (I can already tell Arlong Park is gonna be a tearjerker). FOXY! The One Piece is Real.

Epic overall story line with a natural flow. Unpredictable unique moments, surprises and expirience. Fish men nailed it. Plus setting a stage of a hot and tense upcoming moments. Has every moment , epic, funny, tense , action and more.
I just finished this show and concluded two things. First, although some details from the manga/anime were left out, overall this was a terrific watch (5/5 stars). Second, whenever netflix does NOT have executive power (Eiichiro Oda had executive power) their shows are infinitely better. Point and case: One piece vs Castlevania nocturne or The Witcher. Netflix should just front the cash and step as far away as possible from production.
That second point can be applied to every streaming service.
I'm actually crying aaa. One piece means so much to me, it became my coping mechanism during times of loss. Seeing the one piece world in real life is a new kind of wonder for me. I am excited to relive the experience once again even after rewatching the series for two times haha.

I was hoping they'd stick to the original. The dark stuff is what makes the characters and their motivation for following Luffy. Getting rid of the backstory is what ruins it and turns the characters into a joke.

I just watched the show and its great. First I was like "wtf is this?" and then it clicqued. You can make Live action Anime without being it ...well "animated". All the characters are not they 1 to 1 copies but they definetly have that vibe. I felt like all the cast had to be fans. Didnt expect that 8/10
I’m a 40 year old father of one, I’ve heard of one piece before and knew what it was, but had never really been exposed to it. Every second of watching this, I was 10 years old again, and loved every one of those seconds.
It’s campy, it’s ridiculous, but it has a giant giant heart and is an immense amount of fun to watch.
I'm a 48 year old mom of 3 and my son made me watch this. I'm hooked!😂

Manga characters are usually drawn as exaggerated versions of real people.
You know that these characteristics are manifested in your body, such as your eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and hairstyle. Many live-action versions fail when this process is reversed and they try to copy the manga.
But this live-action version is done in perfect order. Most importantly, the actual creator of the story is at the helm.
It seems like the production crew are huge fans as well, seeing how thoughtful every details being executed into the live adaptation
It also helps that Eiichiro Oda is heavily involved with the live action version

@@rainesaysdie863 Yeah they had to tone down a lot of the scenes as it would looked WAY too childish if you can't have some of the scenes be a little more serious. Personally think having a touch of the humor / unrealistic nature and still being able to put more varied tones in could help translate it to live action.

the easter eggs, the settings, the fact that most of the cast’s wardrobe comes from manga covers… everything is just a testament to how thoughtfully planned this was and the care that was put into it. i’m extremely excited to watch this

One Piece first season just resurrected Netflix in my eyes after 3rd season of Witcher (which looks great but feels bad) . This is masterpiece with incredibly talented actors and director who’s love to the original I see.
The One Piece Live action movie kinda reminds me of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean! 🏴☠️
I swear with every trailer I see it keeps looking better and better, this might actually break the live-action anime curse.

@@GozetaZero not exactly the same thing. that isn't a hollywood production. Alita Battle Angel is the closest for films. For live action TV anime adaptations there hasn't been one of definitive quality from a US company (to my knowledge, could be forgetting something) yet except Drops of God, which not enough people watched

We live in a timeline where the Netflix Adaptation of an anime is genuinely good. We can't get much higher than THAT.
Arlong is odd looking but this looks better than I expected and as good as I hoped. THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!
I think it was a good choice to make him "human-sized", otherwise it would've been a crazy amount of CG usage. I do think the nose looks wonky tho
Fishmen are supposed to look odd though, I think the most important thing was to make sure that they don't look "cheap" and they made a really good job with it in my opinion.
And that's why in the story they are heavily discriminated. They have to look non-human

They took a risk and spent a lot of money to make this. Oda approved it. Now it is up to us to support the show. If it earns enough, it gets even better. As One Piece fans, if there's one thing we've learned. It's that we never leave our Nakama.

@@Guy_Dude They did spend a lot of money on this, the budget is enough to make an A-tier 1 hr 45 min movie. Unfortunately, that kind of budget is still not good enough to support 8 episodes show.
As I can see, their budget allocation priority went mostly to the sets. Vfx and costume design came second/third. 1 ship built alone probably takes a couple of million, and we've seen quite a few on this trailer.

This show is sooo good. The story and the characters are all on point, it's beautiful. I would love to see it all the way through.

Im surprised how much i liked a lot of this from Buggy to Arlong Park and they even nailed the part where Luffy puts his hat on Nami. I can't wait to see the walk to Arlong Park in live action.
I'm highly flabbergasted people have a different opinion to mine. I absolutely loved this fine piece of show and devoured it like a hungry wolf. It was the first show after the big bang theory that kept me hooked and happy. The Airbender live action let me down so bad so I'm glad this still stayed true to each characters.
The acting, the characters, the visuals, the effects, everything is perfect. This better not disappoint.
Oda was backing this project personally, as well as being the producer. So you know its not going to disappoint.

When I watch the anime, I find myself rewinding 10 seconds a lot to re live a part.
I found myself doing that with this also.
They show a lot because this trailer is for One Piece fans. They want us to see that our favorite moments have been captured beautifully ❤
