Fun fact: Hakita started composing The Death Of God's Will a mere 9 hours before it was added to the game, and when it came out the game used an unfinished version because he literally did not have enough time to record the live instruments for it

Deep Blue always impresses me, the seamless switching from the calming, oceanic vibe to breakcore and back.
What's _not_ mentioned for _The Death of God's Will_ are two things:
1. This is just a reprisal of Divine Intervention, which probably explains why Hakita was able to bang it out in nine hours initially since he was using bones from another project for the stems used.
2. _The ending_ is heard at… _the ending._ No spoilers, but it's played on a static image closing act II.

the end of "he is the light in my darkness" is meant to transition seamlessly into "death odyssey", hence the guitar thing at the end
Death Oddysey is reminiscent of Metal Slug's mummy levels.

These song stand pretty solid on their own, but you had quite a few which were directly linked, that's where the weird endings come from. Nonetheless it was a joy to watch with the community.
it is wonderful to watch hakita grow as a young composer. the game dev is improving AND his musical prowess is improving. it's wonderful to watch him grow.

Hakita wrote Deep Blue for Ultrakill and released it at level 5-1. But then he added saxophone to the music with a hotfix update, making it a banger.
Edit: The saxophone may have been added before the release of 5-1, but after the youtube release. You can find some unofficial versions with it.
...no he didn't. Deep Blue was composed long before ultrakill was a thing, and at no point was there a version of Deep Blue without saxophone in the game.
@@caspian4792 Maybe I'm wrong, but the saxophone wasn't included in the version published on RUclips. You can only find it in unofficial videos.

@@caspian4792 To clear things up here, no, Deep Blue was composed specifically for Ultrakill. It didn't exist "long before ultrakill was a thing". The beginning chords are from a track Hakita recorded in like 2016 but IIRC that's about it. (Source: Hakita's Act II developer commentary stream)
You are, however, right in saying that there was never an in-game version of Deep Blue that didn't have the saxophone, the only version of the song that doesn't have it was uploaded to RUclips shortly before the Act II update released.

58:43 just in case you didn't know: in order to avoid possible confusions, you must probably know that "Heaven Pierce Her" is a band that is created, and ran by Hakita himself; it's moreso a pseudonym than an actual band if that makes sense, and he's the one who produced the entirety of the game's soundtrack (with the sole exception of individual tracks made by Keygen Church, like for example "Tenebre rosso sangue.") Hopefully that clears some misinterpretations!

When the music sounds like it is repeating but it is very calm, that is mostly cause you arent fighting enemies then ^^ Dynamic Soundtrack and all :D
I like hearing specifically an outsider's (as in an outsider of the community) opinion and perspective on these songs. You actually described some of the songs vibes almost exactly to what happens in the game.

Yeah, nah, this didn't happen. New Blood has always been completely transparent with giving Hakita near full creative control over his game. Primarily because, unlike most publishers, they know that artists are the people who should run the show.

@@Kkbleeblob Feedback is different. No one told Hakita specifically what to do or placed a demand, they made a suggestion that Hakita agreed with in the end. Giving feedback doesn't invalidate the total creative freedom that Hakita had. He could have just said no if he felt like it.

54:45 if you wanted to know , that's a place in the game , it's from the greed layer , sisyphus used to be here and it's a burning level with almost everything looking like gold or having gold as a main color , the "egyptian temples" lead to a piramid that the souls in their lift boulders up in a burning sun and their boulders come down just at the end (a reference to the punishment sisyphus had to suffer for eternity in mithology)(sisyphean insurrectionnists and sisyphus) , so it's basically a desert and every torture here is insanely more brutal due to every burning aspect here , for example , sisyphus was put gold on his eyes that blinded him while it was melting because he is in the Greed layer so it makes sense he's blinded by gold.

Im sad that you wont experience the voice lines or transitions between the songs but glad that your at least firm in your decision to not play the game cause the community tends to get a bit toxic if you dont play the hardest mode
