Hello that was great.I've been watching BACK TO THE FUTURE all weekend on the movie channels.
Hard to believe such an iconic, universally recognizable piece of movie history was left to rot for so long. Glad it got restored and receives the recognition it deserves.
They did that with the 59 cadillac that was Ecto 1a

I saw the Delorean used in ‘Back to the Future’ in person. Very impressive. I was very surprised at the amount of detail. I also saw the mall that was in the background of the first movie when the Delores was being tested. Although to be fair, it’s a public location. Anyone can enter. Inside of the mall is the ‘Twin Pines Mall’ sign seen at the beginning of the movie.

A H the original engine on was a weak 140hp. Swaps and upgrades by owners years later have made it the car we expect.

That museum looks awesome! Love seeing movie cars. Love going to the exotic car show in Celebration, FL each year cause they bring out a bunch of them. In fact, when I sat in the Delorean a few years ago that they had there I had to wait for a while to get my picture taken in it so they let me change the date and time on the screen to what ever I wanted. I asked them to change it to when I was born so I have a picture of that. That was cool! Made my day😊
i love the styling of the dmc delorean as the next guy but you have to admit that the terribly slow volo v6 in that thing was complete garbage

The documentary about how they restored the Time Machine is called OUTATIME. It's available on BluRay, DVD and digital download from www.outatimemovie.com A great film for BTTF fans who love the Time Machine.
I'm glad the Back To The Future A-Car was rescued. It's an important piece of film history and it deserved to be rescued. :)
In fact, there's a documentary about the restoration and it's beautiful to watch the car come back to life as it did.

I had one of my DeLoreans WAY above 85. It's just that US laws prevented speedometers from showing numbers above that speed - part of the save lives & save fuel era. Which is funny because these days speedometers usually show a top speed far above what any of the cars are capable of :D

I went there in December 2015, but it was kind of disappointing. Because I went there when I was 15 and I thought it was amazing. Too bad they changed it.
Delorean’s didn’t have airbags Adam. The hatch on top of the dash is the glovebox.

I remember seeing the Delorean during a tour of the backlot. It was all covered in leaves and dust with a couple flat tires. I was bummed during the rest of the tour thinking of how the studio could let that star car sit like that. Then about 10 years later, it was all cleaned up and sat along a row of star cars from BTTF 2. I felt a little better.

I was obsessed with these movies growing up. used to watch them almost every day and I believed hoverboards and all of it was real! I remember I actually cried when my parents told me they weren't real. Thanks for doing this video. Also I love how you broke out into song when you saw the delorean😂 you are a ray of sunshine in our lives

I think the ‘A’ was placed by the films production team of the film not the restoration team. I actually have parts of the original ‘A’ hero car from when it was restored.

How the heck did you notice that "A" inside the door? Dude, you are super observant!
Adventures by George His friend who helped restored the DeLorean informed him of that as I recall.
Actually the 'A' was on the car in BTTF movies, it can be seen in BTTF 2, when they arrive in the future there's a shot of Doc standing beside the door and you can see the 'A', when the rebuild team saw it that's when thry knew they had the 'A' car! Waaaaay back in the day there was 2 cars they used for driving around universal studios, over the years parts got stolen, when one would break down they would swap parts over while the broken car got fixed then that cycle continued for years!! In the end, no one knew which car was which! When the restoration team saw the 'A' you can imagine their excitement!! :D

@Maxwell Smart No, I watched the documentary on the restoration. The guys who did this job are uber-fans, to the degree that the team lead made a point of tracking down as many of the original pieces that were on the car as he could, 'cause a lot of them were stripped off by tourists who wanted a souvenir. The museum or Universal probably had the circuits wired to stay on no matter what position the switch was in after the fact.
@Maxwell Smart It's Universal's fault, really. They left the car on the backlot with no protection from the elements and nobody to watch it for thieves.
The time on the clock doesn’t match up. Your time travel trip might not end up well if the clock isn’t synced up.
That flowered roof painted car is Called "The Gypsy Rose" the 1st custom painted low rider. it was actually at the Smithsonian for a bit. its got a really cool history.

what your not telling people is there were 6 cars used in the movies for stunts and backups. just like knight rider had several cars for the show this is just one that was rerstored Tis is the only one privately restored. 2 are still owned by univeral stuidios according to wikipedia
The "A" on the door of the time machine was actually placed there by the production team during the making of the movies. You can see it there in Back to the Future part 2 when they are in the alley in 2015.
