A while back, we put up a poll and asked you guys what topic you wanted us to do a podcast on, and this topic won! This is a phenomenon that is so incredibly common; we get into relationships with the best of intentions, and end up totally losing ourselves along the way. How does it happen? And most importantly, how do we prevent it from happening?
All of us have given up pieces of ourselves in relationships- not just romantically, but in friendships as well. Today we are diving into this very important topic and giving it our best fish! 🐠 We hope you enjoy and that this episode is helpful!

I have a friend who has completely dropped all her friends since she got togehter with her bf. She moved out of our apartment and in with him and she went from going from "I will never be that person that stops talking to friends when i get in a relationship" to ignoring everyone. It's actually so concerning.
I really appreciate that Katherine shared something about not feeling good enough because she didn't think she volunteered enough. I don't do as much as she did, I do want to volunteer more for sure, but this is good advice so once I start volunteering more I don't wear myself out. THANKS!

Immediately when you said something about if this person makes you stop hanging out with your family and friends, then you're losing yourself, I thought of this "friend" my sister had that literally texted her on Easter and my sister said she was hanging out with family and her "friend" said she didn't care. I hope to God that the people still friends with this girl don't fall into the same trap that my sister did.

I have one really good friend that I hang out with probably more than anyone else, but I don't just talk to her. I am working on trying to talk to my other friends more too. And by this I mean I facetime her maybe 2-3 times a month and text her every once in a while.

Idk if I agree, my partner is going to be the person I marry and live with forever. I need to make sure that this is the person I want to spend forever with and that requires a lot of invested time as well. I wont live with a friend forever. However I do agree that you should still keep in contact with them. They should just understand there is this other person in your life that could be your life partner and you’re not as available as you used to be. That is ok.
