Myself and my wife were one of the lucky ones who got to see them live that evening at the Crocodile then we headed to Portland to see them again the next evening. We got to hang out with them after the concert and got invited by this amazing group of human beings to see them in San Francisco. We experienced Altin Gün live three times in 7 days. They are the most down to earth, cool, welcoming musicians we've ever met in this industry. their success is justified. They're great artists and even greater people. Thank you KEXP for having them over!
Saw them at the Crocodile too, was absolutely blown away by the rhythm section live. There were so many people singing along too, great vibes, great show, great band.
Jealous! I didn't realize they were playing Revolution Hall until I saw their name on the marquee outside a few days prior, and by then it was too late to get tickets!
This band is one of my favorite discoveries in music in the last 10 years. That 60s psychedelic thing works so well with folk and the Turkish language and music traditions!
THIS is the reason I started watching You Tube. After listening and playing music for 50 years solid - to wake up, click on something that looks interesting, and be blown away by fresh, kick ass sounds! Thank you! ✌️❤️🎵 (Their original tune is my favorite.)
Their blend of Turkish vibes and psychedelic rock, funk, and jazz is unique and seriously fresh. The musicianship is top-notch and they're killin' it in this live performance. If you're into world music or alternative rock, you gotta check them out right now. 🔥🔥
@@alpaslanilkman3122 In some ways, he does. He takes a similar approach, keeping it simple and never overpowering the melody, but rather adding the perfect atmosphere to the track. He also reminds me of Ringo Star, don't you think?

Seen them twice - last time was in Berlin last year in Neukölln. Man, we had a great time in the first row. Lots of people of Turkish descent there singing along the classic tunes. Towards the end of the concert Merve came down from the stage and danced with the audience. Such a great band!
In case some of you doesn't know, the band Merve talks about is the Mogollar. You can check out their latest album Anatolian Sun. ruclips.net/video/DIdVu7zxzys/видео.html

Lucky to be from the Netherlands. Seen them three times already and own every vinyl. Kinda bummed though that the original guitarist Ben Rider left. He was integral to the sound of the first two albums
Altin Gün is a great band. They are brilliant live performers, and have some great albums too. One of my new findings that I am extremely satisfied with. @ KEXP, there are couple of acts that might be worth featuring here, Sarah P. from Athens, Greece and Wings of Isang, from Seoul, South Korea.
I still miss their first KEXP live set a lot. Can you please make it public again, KEXP? Here's one clipped song from the live set I'm referring to: ruclips.net/video/lAsdvCWfYAE/видео.html

Love the blend of traditional Turkish sounds with the modern arrangements. Great performance right here, KEXP can do no wrong!
Almost all of the Turkish music is the blend traditional sounds with the modern arrangements
