- In this video I show you how and where you should be connecting your monitor too on your PC. There are lots of different ports and cables to use, having the right cables is necessary.

Here is a breakdown of the video: First, make sure the monitor and pc are plugged in. Then find corresponding ports on your monitor and pc. Then just simply plug the two cables in. Make sure, if you are using a graphics card, to then plug the cable into the graphics card and not the motherboard! Hope this helps

@@sylls if you plug the monitor into your mother board you will not be using your gpu so yes you should plug it into the gpu

was it the case that if your gpu is in the pc but your monitors are connected to your motherboard, your gpu still worked on games?
@@therobloxchiller It wouldn't of, he must of had an integrated GPU on the CPU. I made the same mistake when I Built my first PC and got super confused why my performance was garbage.

I have a splitter that connects 2 hdmis for my dual monitor setup but both of the monitors display the same thing and when I go to display settings it only shows one monitor is connected If u can help plz reply thank u 🙏
Each monitor has to supported by a different port - if they're plugged into the same port, they'll display the same thing.
I only have hdmi and display port also if my pc has those old plug things on the top do I need to plug those in ? And if I do where can I buy that can convert to hdmi or something

I have an issue with mine, even tho I only have 1 monitor, I tried to plug my HDMI to my monitor to my mothetboard HDMI port not the graphics card. However as soon as i plugged it in, it shows black screen. But when I plugged it into graphics card, it was the opposite. May i know the reason for this?
Because with a graphics card from what ive seen it expects u to plug it in there not the motherboard or ur motherboard just didnt want to work with that hdmi oead
Because to use the motherboard hdmi your cpu needs integrated graphics if it doesn’t you plug the hdmi into the graphics card

In the video you said there were 3 different options. Does that mean you can use one without the other? Example: Use only the hdmi/display port cable to connect monitor to graphics card without plugging in the dvi cable.

I'm going to give my old PC to my friend. I haven't used it for a year so I don't remembef correctly where cables should go. I found DVI cable and I put that into both PC and monitor. But I also found another black cable with 3 ends and with that I can start PC or monitor but not both at the same time, there's both identical holes in pc and monitor for that cable. Did I do something wrong or should there be another missing cable?
Wait, if I already plugged in the hdmi from the monitor onto the gpu, do I still need to plugged an hdmi from the motherboard onto the monitor?

@@saljivija9935 Use a cable that fits. It'll depend on whether your monitor supports VGA, HDMI, DVI or DP and then the same for your motherboard. If they don't share a port, you'll have to buy an adapter.

Switch it back to your mother board or try disconnecting everything and re-trying it
