Amazing game, and very pretty s2. I agree that the "white flash" from "getting hit" and "ataking" should be diferent (and diferent from the white background probably too), probably more red but you could choose. Obs:. I also don't like, how in other games, everything is red (bullets, buffs, ataking animations, etc). So... idk, maybe a little diference between the colors that represent diferent things should help.
true, the DEV decides how much visual clarity the game will have, Marvel vs CAPCOM for example has a lot of visual pollution but is still a good game. But in a bullet hell game I always prefer things to be easy to see and understand, so we can TRY to react properly.@@xraidev
Boss idea: Do you remember these maze games where you couldn't touch the walls with your cursor? Boss creates a maze and it can teleport to several different spots in the maze and you have to race to get to it to do DPS phases before it teleports to the next spot.
That could work but its risky, if they really do that I just hope it isnt a big and tight maze, otherwhise it would ruin the fast paced vibe of the game
It has a lot of potential. They might want to consider adding mini-health bars to make blasting enemies more satisfying (and for those numbers to make sense)... bosses.. different kinds of waves (like where the enemies are spread out, or where they spawn in waves), more enemy types (that can move and chase you around for instance, or get knocked back far away to make them harder to kill), elite enemies, minibosses, items/skills that go onto your left and right click etc etc, and of course the more items/skills they add, and perhaps make it so that they can level up in different ways, the merrier (gives more variety and replayability).
Not many games that use the cursor as something you should pay attention to. The only other one I can think of being mini dead. And apart from the enemies attack warning being the same color as them being hit, this game seems so fun and has so much potential
the enemies are cool but I feel they're a bit too grouped up, thats a big reason why its so easy, as well as no moving enemies, I wanna see enemies that chase your cursor.
Agreed, chasing enemies can make the game much more interesting. Another cool addition would be special item combos. Curious to see how this game will turn out.
That's awesome! I just tried it out on my steam deck, its awesome using the touch screen - kind of like a mobile game (can also use the touchpad). Great video, thanks!
@@heckzotica Happy to do it, that's the one thing about doing all my gaming on the deck, not every game works right - it can be frustrating. This one has a demo, that's what I downloaded to test before paying - give it a go!
I had a dream about a game similar to this, only it was sort of a tower defense thing? But you defend an entire castle with your mouse that deals damage. I was wondering since then if a game like that actually exists. This is the closest thing I have found to it at least mechanically. I'm glad someone else thought of this
It should reward slicing quickly in linear line. Like a slash sound with bonus Aoe and damage. So it encourages more cool movement and less mouse wiggling which is less fun.
3 upgrade ideas: StarNova: Every 30 seconds, shoot a shooting star randomly and upon impact, it explodes and produces regular stars arranged in a circular pattern. Friendship: When hitting an enemy, there's a chance to teleport and transform it into a green ally. The transformed enemy will then attack other foes. Faster: Reduces the time it takes for the hit cooldown against enemies.
This is a very cool idea! I can see a lot of potential in this. Obviously it's just a demo so I don't expect it to be fully realized yet, but there are some great bones to this. I look forward to the final release @RealPeach!
I could totally imagine some enemies like ones that chase to hurt you, and can only die when all other enemies are dead. or enemies that can only be attacked at a certain side/weakpoint. I do wonder how boss levels on this game could turn out. There's good potential in this simple lil game concept!
Hey there, Retro! There is an (kind of) old indie game with similar premise. It's called Point Perfect. The gameplay is very similar, though rather than going through enemies to defeat them, you need to select them (like multiple folders and shortcuts on your desktop).
Bosses in this game should capitalize off of the strengths moving with a cursor are and turn them against the player. Someboddy reccomended a maze game-like boss which is great. so heres another idea. Boss idea: The floor would turn to lava except for a small floating platform. you have to keep your mouse on the platform as it moves. when the lava eventually goes away, the boss will pop up and you can damage it. after half health the platform gets smaller. and after a quarter health the platform moves faster.
Cute game, but I feel like there should be more differences between the cursors. With heart pickups, having extra health with the stone cursor doesn't make a lot of sense. For example, the sword will kill things faster, and so health pickups will naturally present themselves more often so it balances out. Maybe if the stone cursor took half damage I'd definitely consider picking it. Because while you're losing damage, you're still getting something useful out of it for the entirety of the gameplay. The music cutting in and out during the skill selection is a bit jarring, too. Additionally I'd love to see a damage breakdown on the results screen so you can see which skills were the most performant.
A new character could be a glass knife that either does a lot of damage or a gets 2 upgrades per level for but has 1 hp so it lives up 2 it’s name got this idea from tainted lost in BOI
stopped a little bit into your video and went to go get the demo.... this game is gonna be amazing, had to stop myself before i played for an hour. def want to pick it up.
i like automation, so when i saw cacti and destructive mushrooms, i knew i HAD to play, i like cacti, shroom, star, magma and bubble forcefield. really nice, every 10 secs you can do some brief CARNAGE. away from the field of force, and to the weapons, cacti and shroom are for when you don't have forcefield, star and magma are for XTRA CARNAGE!!!
Decks Deck 1: Fire Deck Magma and Fire. Lays Out A Path Of Fire Leaving No Survivors Deck 2: Damage Deck Pufferfish, Shootibg Star, and Electricity. Everyone Gets Hurt Even Yourself. Deck 3: Aura Deck Cactus and Shroom. An Aura of Death with Spikes and Poison. Best Support Abilities IMO i.e Target, Bomb 1. Target: A Crit Hit seems really good to me. 2. Porcupine: Shooting Star Mixed With Shroom. 3. Bomb: Really Good Damage But bad Spawn Rate.
I think a boss that's a more traditional bullet he'll type boss that gets tired easily could be cool, lik it does the more complex and long string of attacks then it gets tired for a few seconds in which you're supposed to quickly swipe at it. Rinse and repeat to win
you may have enabled enhanced cursor precision in windows cursor settings by default which makes your cursor go flying all over the screen, it is like sensetivity acceleration in quake but junky
Hey retro, I've been looking for a game and i was curious if you know of something that fits what I'm looking for! I am looking for a game like heroes of might and magic or age of empires, but it is procedurally generated roguelike? Have you seen or played something like that?
I just looked it up, they look very little alike. Clicker Tale 2 is a clicker game, a genre that there are thousands of. This isn't even in that genre, it just uses the cursor, but so does almost every game lol.
Wonder if the Fire trail & Chance of Fire abilities aren't compatible? Since if the Fire Trail is a 100% chance for them to catch on fire then the other makes no difference if it triggers? Unless it's like the silly games where you can stack upon stacks upon stack abilities
Am i going crazy or Is this the Yu-gi-oh GX song from the map, i hear in the background ? I feel like like i heard this song somewhere but i am not sure, maybe it's similar.
I think it would be cool with this game had a timed mode wear instead of enemies doing damage to you you had to kill them in a few seconds otherwise you take damage also I will definitely be looking forward to when the game is out of the demo

What about making the "Will attack" indicator small cute exclamation mark above their heads? :3
@@Touhitsublue might be better since the enemies are kinda red themselves but I always trust the dev knows best

Item idea: click and hold to teleport. It's a legendary super rare, but if this is a boss that has to be an item
without jumpscares please
the teleport works like the old right clicking trick
This idea is so sick

I agree only wish that clicking was relevant to the gameplay.
I've been playing hammerfight in my childhood. Thats the best mouse physics game imo. And now i see more mouse swiping game, im gonna like this.

A "new" genre is born, I love it. Now I patiently wait for a comment that this was done already ala Vampire Survivors or The Simpsons.
Clickertale as well, search it up.
I did play a game like this a long time ago on one of the flash game websites. Couldn't tell you what it was called or anything else about it though.
@@Arvensa Cool story bro, I believe you.
i made this kind of mouse bullet hell game on scratch a few years ago but it sucked really bad
@Arvensa many such games - death vs monstars, frantic, bullet heaven, most bullet hell games that started the genre were mouse based
The game looks really cool, I would love more videos on it when it comes out.

Reto always finds the rarest jems.
I can't help but think that using touch pad rather than mouse would be a self imposed challenge mode

ya totaly should try Hammerfight. that's where your cursor is real character!
Seems like adrenaline could counteract the tanky sword's weakness, since the extra health turns into damage.
