One great thing i found with kobos and nowhere else is the support for the kepub format instead of epub. This format recalculates the pages left when changing fontsize. It is a great feature that is (to my knowledge) only supported in the kepub format. Every epub file can be transformed to work as a kebub aswell, so its not even closed off.
If you buy a book off KU, you do not own that book. Amazon is (almost certainly) deliberately obscure on this point. You are purchasing a subscription to access KU (currently $12.99USD), and when you go to "buy" a book, you are purchasing a subscription to that book. That book is not yours to do with what you will, including loaning it out. They've become VERY restrictive about the conditions under which you can loan out one of "your" books. I don't know anything about Kobo, or any of the other e-readers.
That's being said, once you bought a book anywhere(or pirate) and have a file you can send I to both Kindle or Kobo(via PC/Mac or even email for Kindle). So I'd not recommend choosing device depending on the Stores which they represents, but use only hardware preferences (form, price, feeling, etc)
Kindle files are DRM-protected, which are difficult to remove, even using Calibre. Conversely, Kobo supports EPUB, EPUB2, and EPUB3 (Note: Kobo Original and Kobo Wi Fi do not support EPUB3), as well as PDF, FlePub, and MOBI formats.
You can transfer your Kindle books to the Kobo Libra with Calibre software. I am thinking of changing over to Kobo Libra. I am surprised Amaon does not have a color ereader like Kobo and Barbnes and Noble have.
You can email any PDF or EPUB file you want to your Kindle. You can find the email address for your kindle and send files and they'll download right onto it.
I think the smaller Clara version is a bit more portable and practical and I don’t really care about buttons (to me that’s outdated and I don’t have any idea why it’s considered a premium feature) but it sucks that there’s no white version on the Clara. They can never give us everything we want sadly.
@ReadEve aww, thank you! 🥰 I probably wouldn't recommend the Libra Color if you read a lot of comics. The colors are quite muted/pastel, which I think looks really cute for highlighting and annotating, but definitely won't show the wide color range for images. Hope this helps!
You'll need to use an eBook converter, but I believe it is possible! You can convert Amazon's DRM book format to EPUB format on a computer and then transfer the files to your Kobo device using a USB cable.
e-readers are easier on the eyes (i suffer from headaches and migraines and looking at an lcd or oled screen vs an eink is drastically different), easier to read in more lighting situations, have longer battery life than tablets, and many people don't want added distractions so having a device solely dedicated to reading is helpful.
It's better on Libra because it has less layers over the e-ink screen. It's sharper and has better contrast. It's the same for Clara 2E and Clara BW. They do have better contrast and sharper screens than Paperwhite.
You have the EXACT same voice as Vanessa Hudgens omg!!!! Thank you so much for all your incredible points!

@@someone-pi4dp i don’t remember which format does kindle or other supports. But there are convesrting tools for sure between different formats

@@_Tao__ What is not true? Kindle files are DRM protected and needs to be converted. Kobo does support more file formats .

I have both kindle unlimited and kobo plus and love them both. I have a paper white 11th gen and kobo libra 2 and kobo Clara e2
You are so pretty!! Is the colour on the kobo good for reading comics??

The kobo libra2 is black and white
I loove my kobo Libra 2
Is it backlight or frontlight? Thanks
Your skin is gorgeous!
Also, informative video. Thank you 🤍🤍
Good review. Thanks!
Which one do you like better for yourself?
I personally have found myself reaching for my Kobo more often than my Kindle 😊
@@brooklynshaeYes but the colour is rubbish on it!
@@nolongerhavetowork its definitely not an lcd level of color, but its still pretty cute.
The Libra 2 is sadly discontinued
@@katanabluebird What the colour version?
I'm thorn between Libra or Clara. Is the button feels good and sturdy to press? I need the buttons but I'll go with Clara if it's flimsy.
This is my first e-reader with page buttons, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but I feel like they are quite sturdy!
In the U.S does kobo support Libby ?
Yes, it does!
@@brooklynshae thanks for the info
Libra is to big, perfer the clara, its smaller, lighter and more portable, and your gorgeous
Thank you!)
Can I read kindle books on a kobo if I bought them through amazon?

You don't own the books you buy on Amazon. You lease access to KU, and then you lease access to the books you "buy" from KU.

4:12 lol never mind 😂😅
The libra is good for reading in landscape mode.
Why you not use ipad? I think it's better use for reading, plus you can use it for everything
