The only one who I truly feel bad about is Bhishma. Just imagine being the strongest demigod who has death under his control cannot sit on his father throne, also cannot father children either. Imagine the pain on him seeing such weaklings becoming kings and the first capable one dying after becoming king(Satyvaki and Shantunus first son). Also tolerating palace politics one after another. The war was a blessing for him, he died on his own terms, did what he wanted. Otherwise he would've kept living longer serving those Kings who are not his blood technically 😢. Imagine his status after hearing what Parikshit did to the shadu and how Parikshit will die.
True but I felt he could have interpreted his vow better. He vowed to be loyal to the throne and not to the one on the throne. He could have very well opposed Dhrithrashtra's decisions on the grounds of not beneficial to the throne. He could have prevented the war by being loyal to the throne and not to the one sitting on the throne.

@@hello64879 it's just that vasus are indefinite citizens of heaven so it's understandable that bhisma can live forever in heaven but heaven is not permanent place for mortals once oneself righteous is utilised they have to be reborn again on bhu loka again do some punya to attain swarga only permanent place in vaikuntha planets then how come Pandavas and Kauravas live permanently in heaven not having to reborn again escaped from cycle of karmaa birth and death cycle???
