Angela Winbush and Regina Bell should be honored as well.
not yet. Regina has a big hit or two first. go Regina !
Absolutely
So true
FACT$$$!!!
Hallie Rivers Agree!
Angela Winbush killed that ending note she dam sure dont get enough credit cant nobody else do that like she did 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A beast vocally. I like the way she rearranged Power of Love putting her own touch. That is the difference between her and a karaoke singer. She was somewhat restrained here as her range is crazy and the volume ( big lungs) very full and big. She is also getting older, she still sounded great here
@@needahandle Angela Winbush wrote power of love but stephanie recorded it first and then Angela recorded it later.
When you're so legendary that other legends honor you.
Talk that talk man
Regina belle still got the vocals. Blowing it out the water!!
My heart got to beaten so hard when she started digging into it I was like OMG I'm about to have a heart attack❤️
Paris Benett sang “Home”, she has perfect pitch and I just gagged! ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful voice
She did her thing. I didn't know her voice was so pretty.
"sanged"...not sang ??? 🤔
@@cydapoet5522 Thank you
I thought that was her.
Take note, now that’s how you honor a legend 👏👏👏👏
FACT$$$☆☆☆
So true.
Dr Sam Or Sammie SAY IT!!!!
Dr Sam Or Sammie Facts!
Dr Sam Or Sammie please watch 8 videos of Jim Nduruchi
Stephanie has been so under appreciated for what she contributed to black music. She should have alot more lifetime achievement honors.
Why do you think she’s under appreciated because a tv network hasn’t given her a tribute.
She could do no wrong in the late 70's and early 80's
Not with anybody in Chicago....we LOVE her and Angela !!!
I agree with you
In her recent interviews she said she didn’t have the backing and stuff in the 90’s they categorized her as too “urban”.
Yasssss Paris Bennett!!! I wanted her to sing the whole song!
Right!!!!
Truely UNSUNG!!!! Glad she got her roses while she is still alive and looking FAB!!!
Cindy Sinclair Well deserved
@@tracywalker244 Yep!
Cindy Sinclair Oh so true!!
No she's not because she still performing and entertaining. Stephanie Mills stated that she will not appear on Unsung. Also, she do not like being Unsung. She is not a has been.
@@carolynhowell9768 Uh....I was NOT talking about the actual show. The term "unsung" is not only related to that show. It actually refers to a person that has not been acknowledged for their contributions. There is nowhere in my post that I directly stated or even implied that she's a "has-been"...🙄
Paris Bennett did that!!! All the ladies gave me life. Singing like this rarely exists anymore.
So true
No, it still exists; Corporate America just won't let you hear it!
Isn't she the Sound of Blackness lady granddaughter?
You said it!!!! This tributr performance was AMAZING!
@@lakeitawilson Yes. Ann Nesby.
Angela Winbush is absolutely phenomenal 💜
She left me speechless! 😯
Me too 😊😊😊😊
Same here
Did anyone get the chills from Regina's last note?
Yes I did. She went in on that last note
Legends!!! Omg Ms. Angela and Regina are aging so gracefully. Beautiful women
I think Stephanie Mills is also
✊🏿 don’t crack
Yes, I said the samething simply beautiful as ever
Its, about time we honor the lovely, sweet sensation, Ms. Stephanie Mills. This lady is a legend, Stephanie can sing any song with that angelic voice. beautiful
YES
Agreed I was just speaking on this with my children
Yes, she can. I looooove Stephanie, she is very underrated and gorgeous.
I know right
Yesss!!!
Regina Belle singing "I Feel Good All Over"...I can die happy now.
Lol.
FACT: In 9 months the population of the US will grow about 3 percent, once everyone hears Regina sing this.
#thatsababymakinsong
@@darowemcmillon2724 I strongly agree with you ❤️❤️
Yasssss!
That soulful ending
Stephanie Mills is a Living Legend and deserves all the accolades
You are loved
Yes she is. Her music is very popular in Kenya 🇰🇪 in East Africa and Europe especially the UK with 45 plus age group clubbing on weekends or house parties. Loved her since '81 when my uncles played her music at home back then..
Loonnnggg overdue. Stephanie Mills is a phenomenal powerhouse. I've loved her talent since I saw her in the Wiz.
Steph IS in a class by herself!
And I mean long
I learned to respect the ALL that her powerful, beautiful vocals are capable of. With, "Power Of Love!" That's my song! She hurt me with that One. Then she turned around and came for me again. With, "Learn To Respect The Power of God!" Now that song took me smooth out! Forever Blessed Stephanie!
YES well deserved
It's so great to see Stephanie get honored. That dang gone Regina Belle, baby, she's from the school of Phyllis Hyman, lol. So soulful.
diva doll So glad I was alive when Phyllis gift me with her voice!
@@tracywalker244 It was so unexpected when Phyllis passed. Sometimes I kinda feel like foul play was involved.
@@rodneyplayer5785 me too. I just don’t think she gave up on life like that
I hope she gets honored in the BET Awards
Especially Angela Winbush. Miss Winbush should have been the final act on this. She has written and produced her own material and has also done so for others too. Thumbs up if you think Angela should be honoured ASAP.....
Who didn't know Angela was a vocal and composing beast!!!!
I knew
She's almost 70 and can still hit those high notes!! 🎤🎶
Yessss!!! Love her ❤❤❤❤
A voice from on high
I KNOW, LORD GOD I KNOW..SHE IS MY FAV ARTIST, PRODUCER, WRITER, ARRANGER, ENTERTAINER
Stephanie is my favorite of all. I play her music all the time. Incredible!
YES I LOVE STEPHANIE MILLS...I SEEN HER IN CONCERT...I HAVE HER WHOLE COLLECTION...I LOVE THIS WOMAN... WE'RE BOTH ARIES❤️. GOD BLESS YOU STEPHANIE....MY GIRL ANGELA WINDBUSH, REGINA BELLE, AND ANN NESBY FROM SOUNDS OF BLACKNESS GRAND DAUGHTER PARIS. Mikki Howard should've been there to sing for Stephanie...
RenGib123 “ I Have Learned To Respect The Power Of Love”
I wish you all these great women will come out with music today
Great Tribute. Wish they coulda sang "Never Knew Love Like This Before "
ImperfectbutRedeemed oh Yeah
ON GOD
Yaassss
My Mother sung that to me when I was a child...I love that song
Go down the list for this ICON “Secret Lady” “Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin” ooh boy
Angela Winbush looks beautiful. And that voice is still very soulful and powerful. Sang girl! 🎤🎵👏👍❤
Check mate

I started crying when I heard A'ngela Winbush's voice!!
💡🔥🔥 PUT SOME RESPECT ON STEPHANIE MILL'S name🔥🔥 She's an LEGENDARY ICON as are the Women singing the tribute 🙏

You betta believe it! Been sangin
Say it..."again"!🙏🏽👍🏽💯😱😄🍻
You Betta Say That 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 we need more of these legends being honored because they contributed a lot to this business musically and more
Stephanie Mills and Regina Bell ♥️🌹☄️💟
Both are my favorite OG r&b singers
💯. Love them
Chiffon Smith 😍🤩🤩😍
Yaaaasssss!!!!
For real Queens👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Stephanie Mills is another underrated vocalist. Such talent and poise. Legendary performances ❤💖💓💕
I don’t think she’s underrated she just never got a tribute from the huge networks but after the VERZUZ the other night she for sure is getting one.
No one can sing like Stephanie, like Whitney both are treasures.
Sade needs to be honored
Patricia Pitts I was thinking the same thing!!
Yes, brother Sade also needs to be honored.
So overdue!
Patricia Pitts agree. So many more black artists need to be honored.
It will happen soon! 👍😘
*Angela Winbush, are you seriously looking and sounding that damn good right now??! 64 years young.*
Omg they ALL just look so gorgeous, radiating from the inside!!!
Serving in that dress!
64 ,😳...
Yes!!!!!!! She looks BEAUTIFUL and sounds AMAZING!!!!! That's what you can look forward to when you don't abuse your voice with all of that crazy screaming!!!!! When you take care of your body, eat right, rest, stay away from the drugs, alcohol, and that abhorrent lifestyle you WILL look like this!!!! She is and has always been a beautiful lady!!!!!🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Yep, that voice still the same. Love her!
OMG I haven’t seen Paris since idol. She still sounds so good!
Yesss Regina bell did that ...gotta love her voice
I love how they reached back to get some legendary voices instead of who’s popular at the moment. Most of all having iconic singers that are embedded in the culture and musical genre.
Monique Stewart 🙌🏿we must pay our respect to these legends
Yes!!
Yes
EXACTLY! We have to honor our living treasures. Stephanie has brought so much joy to our lives. What a treat we can still celebrate this incredible woman!!!
Me too. I enjoyed it. The first girl No.
Paris Bennet is a force i remember her from Idol. I really feel she should give it another try on the voice
She just need to come out with a great album..... I will buy it.
I'd definitely purchase her cd if she have great music.
@@Rmasai she has a CD that came out in 2006 or 2007. I used to listen to it all the time in the car.
I didnt even know that was her
Ann Nesby's granddaughter
Magnificent performances , Angela blow me away , Regina gave a powerful rendition and Paris Bennett breath new life into a classic. America may not realize it but Stephanie is a national treasure. All three of them put their own personal imprint on each song. It's criminal this video doesn't have millions of views .
I know I make up at least 100
Angela Winbush looks great I am so glad she is cancer free... Regina Bell ended that very well....
Look at God, I didn't recognize her
She looks absolutely gorgeous. Her voice and looks are still in tact. Most importantly her spirit is shining.
@@debrajames6316 thanks for your feedback yes she is beautiful. Be blessed.
@@shrondasmith7544 Happy new year and continue to find happiness in life.

Yes she makes me so proud
YES, YES, YES! I grew up listening to these beautiful women music Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Angela and Ms. Regina.
I have had the pleasure of seeing regina and and Stephanie now i need to see Angela.voices of our youth.
This shows that great music will never die! Never gets old!!!
Same here. Beautiful and amazing voices. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏☮️☮️
Finally, one of the greatest vocalist of all time is honoured. Beautifully done ladies. I hope Angela Windrush is next because she’s another legend that must be honoured in this way. I loved Angela’s tribute of Learn To Respect The Power of Love, beautiful ❤️❤️
YES
Not trying to be funny, but did you mean Angela Winbush?
That was perfect for Angela to sing Power of Love because a lot of people don’t know she wrote it and let Stephanie record it. The original by Angela came out first and she killed it as well as Stephanie’s version. Neither one played no games with it. Type in Angela Winbush Power of love. I’m not comparing the versions because I lobe both ladies undeniable real powerhouse vocals❤️❤️
@@malikgarrett1814 e
malik garrett Actually the first version of Power of Love was by Alton McClain & Destiny. It was released in 1979 and of course written by Angela Winbush.
Paris's voice has gotten richer over the years. She has a very beautiful texture akin to Fantasia's. Angela had to show folks what she was famous for......hittin' those howls and snatchin' edges! Regina had to lasso that song back in because it almost got away from her. She hog-tide it in the end. Great job, ladies!!!
In that order
For me Paris's voice outshines Fantasia's by far. Paris actually sings the song instead of screaming and kicking off her shoes. Oops! Did I say that.
Finally Ms Stephanie Mills is honored 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽❤️
Why it took so long that lady 60 now
The little girl/woman with the BIG voice! Yes, she did that!
Parris bennett was on American idol. Also grandadaughter of Ann nesby from sounds of blackness
It’s about time ! Stephanie is a living legend ✨💕👸🏾
#FACTS 🌈
Regina Belle did that thang!!!
Regina saved the day🔥🔥🔥
Ok so all them need albums ASAP. The young girl was extraordinarily talented and Angela and Regina look and sound as phenomenal as 20, 30 years ago which NEVER happens. If I could be so blessed! This was one of the best albeit shortest tributes I’ve seen.
BET take notice!!
Ta Murphy Oh please 🙄
They wouldn't dare touch old school kathy hugh a mess
🤭
NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A TRIBUTE TO A ICON.....COMPLETE VOCALS.
I’m 26 but I’m so happy to have been raised with an older family because my appreciation for REAL music runs deep. I love Stephanie Mills! I can’t believe it’s taken this long for her to get a tribute. I was ready to give her one myself 😂
Regina stole the SHOW!
I’m shocked so many people missed this....based on folks saying “it’s about time,” “long overdue,” etc.
This is from last year 🙌🏾
Bobby was honored the same night and gave a very moving speech!
I'm not sure if it shows in my area. I didn't see any advertisement.
Dang I didn't even know! This should have been advertised better!
When the Goats honer the Goats. God bless Miss. Stephanie, Regina, Angela who by the way need a tribute ASAP...
I keep rewinding Regina at the end🔥🔥🔥
I can't tell you how many times I went back to the Regina ending. Murdered it
Black Music Honors is doing a great job at hand picking who does the vocal honoring. Sheesh.
Except with Leela James in the Oleta Adams tribute and 702 in the Xscape tribute
@@humbled92_Mister I didn't say a perfect job. 😂
ImperfectbutRedeemed OMG. I WAS JUST GONA WRITE THIS
It just deserved to be longer for how huge her career was. They should've had 3 or at least 2 more artists to Tribute Ms. Stephanie. They picked a wonderful lineup for Anita Baker a few years back. I still watch that here on You Tube frequently
ImperfectbutRedeemed 😂😂
Now that is a tribute. Every last one of them sang the hell out of their songs.
Just call me Chard better than the EWF tribute with The Jonas Brothers and Cynthia Erivo
They sure did sang the hell slap outta them songs. Whew!
YEESSSS Regina!!!!!! Your closeout to that song was FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO DAMIT,... BRAVO!!!!!!!!!
YASSS!, Regina did that!!!!
Now you who did it better and that why they put her in middle
Yesss Angela!!! She's a legend herself...she needs to be honored. Stephanie is timeless ...I love her...so beautiful and classy. Real music yoll.
REGINA BELL DID THAT!!! Congratulations To Stephanie Mills. 🎶❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶❤
DAMN Regina, she definitely did that. Paris is so underrated. She also did an awesome job.
Stephanie Mills is a living legend!!! As is Angela Winbush. She should be next.
I'm going to really enjoy this. I need an Angela Winbush tribute.
Yes
Fun fact: Angela Winbush wrote Power of Love originally as a gospel song, entitled The Power of God, then tweaked for Stephanie. A gospel recording exists but I forget which of the two women recorded it.
Christell Cooks Never knew
Stephanie did the gospel version as well.
Facts I have all versions of both auntie Àngela and Stephanie who recorded the gospel version with auntie Angie on the BGV
Actually the 1st to record it was Alton McClain and Destiny. When Angie re-recorded it in 89' it was very much like the orginal recording that she wrote for Alton. But I'm so glad she sang background on Stephanie's version.
Wow Paris👏🏽🙌🏽 wish u could’ve finished the song
Brian E Tillman fa real I wished the same thing
Same!
She deserves this and a whole bunch of Grammys. She looks amazing. Go Mrs. Stephanie.
I love you Stephanie Mills. This was beautiful. Great job.
Edit: Now this is how you honor a LEGEND this was long over due.
Give Stephanie her flowers!
Now that's how you do a damn tribute!
Now THIS is a tribute!!! One legend being honored by 2 other legends!!!!! And Paris Bennett...you betta!!!!!!!!
ANGELA WINBUSH🙌🏽😭👑
I was about to cry yall. I have those songs on a radio recorded cassette.
Girl, I was crying to those ladies can sing. It was an awesome performance from all three Paris, Ms. Angela & Regina Belle.
I was crying...
It’s about time!!! I grew up listening to Stephanie Mill and I’ve always thought she didn’t get her just do. I mean she has some real classic R&B records that are simply timeless.
I want a all women tour. Stephanie Mills, Angela Winbush, Regina Belle, Shirley Murdock, Anita Baker, Miki Howard and Peebles.
Six/Ga Yasss and I would add Chante Moore too.
Can I add Rachelle Ferrell to the list. I went to the Dell in Philadelphia when Rachelle and Angela was there on the same night. Smh My God
Oh my!!! That would be awesome!!
OOOOOOOOO THAT WOULD BE SO DOPE!!
Stephanie Mills is one of the greatest voices of all time. Refreshing to see how she celebrated the women who honored her.
So Glad To See That My Baby Stephanie Is Getting Honored. And To Have My Other Babies Angela And Regina Sing A Musical Tribute To Her Was Outstanding To Watch. 3 Masterclass Vocalist....
This was too short but amazing at the same time, take a bow ms Stephanie Mills you deserve it a real Sanger from the soul.
Right! As lonnngggg as her career was, her tribute should've been a bit longer.
I agree! They could've gotten Yolanda Adams, Shanice Wilson, and Ledisi to sing Stephanie's other beautiful songs. Well if they were available. I'm 45 now but remember at times Shanice's vocals reminded me of Stephanie's
Regina didn't have to do us like that. Maaaan, that ending had me screaming.
🤗🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜💜
Regina is a beast man. Dayummmmm
Mrs. Winbush, taking the young to school - . Master Class in pitch / tone / note / breath control. No auto-tune - overdubbing or audio engineer machinations needed.. a hot- mic and class is in session..plz be seated.
This is long overdue and should have been longer in my opinion. They still did an amazing job with this tribute.
I love Regina Belle so much. All the ladies did their thing here in respect to the legendary Stephanie Mills.
I feel ya man. I love Regina Belle so much. So glad I had the opportunity to meet her 3 times. It's something about her spirit, stage presence and voice that does it for me.
The best vocal tribute I have heard!!! Those women were phenomenal🔥
Each one of these ladies brought it! They served Ms Stephanie Mills with a hearty honorary tribute. I was throwing everything at the tv!
