Quite interesting to walk through the Paris Art with you. - and beautifull landscapes and isn’t Landscape our comfort zones of being outside and becoming one with beautifull surroundings.
Paris, love the surreal broom. Vive La France! Love the Tabouret heavy impasto on faux fur canvas too, wonder how stable it will be. McGee reminds me more of Pop than grafitti, good stuff. Sound wall, my favorite.
Thanks Mary. McGee makes strong work with emphasizing craftsmanship and technique. Her subject matter of feminism is somewhat subtle, but comes through. Her having historical works to play off from and reinvent is a big help: it reminds me of the 1980's post modernists.
Wonderful tour you're giving us! Thank you. Amazing especially to see McGee's distinctive work in PAREE! It gives it a whole new power, to see how it holds its own against the history, grandeur, etc.. Bravo, Barry!
Thanks once again, Mary! I liked above all Barry McGee’s exhibition. I had never heard of the Mission School art movement. It somehow reminds me of a similar unnamed movement that took place at the same time at an art school in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, likewise inspired by folk art, graffiti and comics. Interestingly, this small town is also located on the west coast, at almost the same latitude and features an identical mild and misty climate!
@@unamor It was an informal movement, without a manifesto. Unfortunately, few of the artists most linked to these vibes have had their work properly recognized by art critics. Many have dedicated to other tasks and do not exhibit regularly. Still, I can highlight: Francisco Vidal, Gonçalo Pena, Sara & André, Von Calhau!, Paulo Barros (onírica) and Colectivo Pizz Buin.
Tres bonne présentation. Un bon équilibre entre la narration, le visuel, la musique. Je en connaissais pas cette galerie. Merci pour ce tour. ( quoique parfois la caméra défile et one ne voit pas bien ..)
Not only is the art interesting, but it was extremely well narrated and some of the best gallery walk-through photography I've seen allowing the viewer to peak at the edges, see the entire room and then focus on individual pieces. Just excellent. This is the first time I've seen this channel, so I hope the rest of the videos are as good. Thank you.
@@MaryLynn_Buchanan I've been going through some of Mary Lynn Buchanan's other videos, and yes they are just as good. Then, I looked at her website. Yes, just excellent and thank you for the reply. I look forward to many more walk throughs and your insightful thoughts and information. I've discovered some new artists I wouldn't have known about otherwise and also appreciation of works that I would walked by without really taking the time.
Thanks for your great work. The development of your video style is very impressive. You've gone from breezy walk-throughs to very valuable visits with details. Commentary has also gotten more valuable for me. Have you talked about your set up? I am interested in doing videos like this for BWAC, Brooklyn waterfront artists coalition.
I haven’t but I can! I just started for this video using a Gimbal which helps stabilize the video and I’ve actually found that shooting on the new iPhone 13 pro max in 4K provides much higher quality footage then when I was using my canon G7 mark II. The gimbal is this brand - DJI OM 5 Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer, 3-Axis Phone Gimbal, Built-In Extension Rod, Portable and Foldable, Android and iPhone Gimbal with ShotGuides, www.amazon.com/dp/B099ZXD27F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_81LZEsyDn46AS
I am grateful for your videos but please try to hold the camera still for a couple of seconds right in front of the full painting. At least some of them.
Beautiful piano-music But….The paintings, what kind of Music are they i wonder? I would like to make paintings as beautiful as the Music, …………. but perhaps they are already there…….?
I like to watch your shows but e.g. Here The small pieces on paper need much longer focus directly in front and stop at least for one breath so that we get an impression of the work before you move around zooming in on details .... 🎵💜🎶
This was a good idea and thanks for your effort. I'd like to actually see the art though, and you moved by many of the paintings too quickly and with views of them at odd angles. Larger paintings could not be seen in their entirety because the camera was too close to them. The overall effect was disappointing. However, I hope you will take my comments as constructive criticism and put up more videos.
I preferred the final exhibit of abstraction - which is culturally and artistically an end in itself. The first two floors by female artists tended to be gimmicky and pretentious.
Thanks.. please work on your filming skills ... the side angle extreme fast walk by is not enjoyable and quite dizzy making. I'm not being mean I'm trying to help you understand it's painful. I watched a big art tour the other day and it wasn't fast and dizzy making just flys past so much and way to quick and such a crazy angle. Dizzy making . Rewatch it ur self and see how fast and dizzy making it is
awesome gallery🤩
Beautiful gallery amazing tour thank you so much 🎼🎻🎵🙂
A wonderful art exhibition, I really love it, Thanks for this video.
Again Great Tour MLB (: Look Forward To Touring The Rest Of The Paris Art Scene With You

It is so nice to have these to go back and watch 🥰
thank you, excellent art tour and very well explained.
Beautiful painting 😇🥰
I can’t get enough of your channel, watch it all the time.. and I absolutely love your new blonde hair, stunning! It suits you.
Beautifully painted filled with atmosphere but also weirdness
Hi Mary Lynn, I enjoy your comments. Short and pithy but insightful. Stranded in Singapore so appreciate you doing this for us.
The landscapes on faux fur remind me of the Canadian Group of Seven. Beautiful!
Galeri yg tampil seperti sebuah puisi. Tenang dan mengesankan.
Mary I love the way you take us into the exhibitions, better than if I were there myself. Thank you
the turquoise, black and white painting of McGee is pretty trippy
working artist- thank you for the inspiring tours and yes "landscaping is the comfort zone" very funny
The hole exhibition, the place, the music, the voice/explanation: amazing! Thanks a lot
Thanks again 🌱
The faux fur works are by far the most interesting. 👏🏽
Your art tours make me so happy. They are so authentic and well done with helpful comments about the artists. Thank you! 🐑🐕🐕
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying them

Love your videos! I’m so glad I found you on here
Your videos are always awesome but the piano in this one is just so beautiful/melancholy, love it
Thank you 😊
Your videos are so relaxing 😌
Beautiful 🤩 love ❤️
Bello edificio e interesantes obras. Gracias.
Thanks Mary.

Sérgio, what are some artists from that movement in Portugal I could look into? Curious to learn about them! Thanks

Perrottin like gagosian Is a guarantee of top Art
I loved Claire Tabouret works, especially the landscapes, I imagined having a couple of those in a house on the French Riviera.

Gorgeous Works 👏👏👏👏congrats for the great article👏👏👏👏💓
Exactly why I subscribed last year! I lived in Manhattan for a decade some years ago and visited Chelsea galleries every other weekend.
Again than you so much!
I really love how Claire let's the colour of the fur come through. It makes me feel a way I can't even put in words. Maybe warm and fuzzy? Pun

Emily Mae obviously makes just plane digital prints, doesn't deserve to be nowhere near Claire Tabouret.
They are oil paintings, not prints

Affreuse la video... je ne parle pas du contenu (chacun apareciera suivant ses gouts), ni du contenant (👍).
Strange, wonderful art. Boring, predictable piano music for stuffy conservative people. Gee, why the dissonance?
Are we pretending to high culture?
Prefiero Walt Disney.

Just take off your masks, so you can see for God sake it's ridiculous 🙄 😂
😷😷😷😷😷 …artists were supposed to be free souls
I thought they were supposed to be tortured souls
