Thank you Mary. Carmen Neely really showed what can be done with her sense of space and color. She clearly delivered her emotional theme. Thank you again.
Thanks for exposing to the works of great artists! My personal opinion is that art works must 'compel' the visitors to stop for sometime at each exhibit before proceeding towards the next one! ❤
Dear Mary Lynn, Thank you so much for the video! ❤❤❤I really enjoyed it. The paintings by Sylvia Snowden particularly caught my attention. The color palette is absolutely stunning - so rich and vibrant, and the contrasting colors are just perfect. Carmen Neely's paintings are also amazing! They are so full of energy and strength. It was a true pleasure to see these artworks. Thanks again for sharing!😘
I happen to be in Paris now (first time in 5 years) and will check some of these out. As always, I love, love your videos. Best thing on the internet. -Dave
I think it would be nice if you could also pay attention to the experimental galleries and artists. Not just the chosen ones of the art elite. This is not a criticism, I always find your videos very interesting. But there is also another side to art.
@@MaryLynn_Buchanan I'm looking forward to that. It will make your RUclips channel even better. I am an artist and art collector myself. I have covered my entire house with art. I mainly look at non-famous, often young artists and buy directly from their studio. I buy what I like. Not because I see money in it. I'm already too old for that.
You were right about the Mona Lisa being one of the best in the Warhol exhibition. Does anybody actually like the Mona Lisa? I certainly don't but Warhol made it look fresh and even vaguely exciting! Nothing else really caught my attention but I thought the parquet flooring in some of the galleries was beautiful.
As always, I enjoyed all the exhibits. What was the name of the Warhol that featured a robotic image over painted in red & blue with the yellow stripe? It seemed both serious and playful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & enthusiasm.
What I liked most in this art review was the artistic, sculpturally highlighted lines of the woman's body. P.s.: compare this 10:04 painting with Noji Mikiko's or Kazutoshi Oshimoto's giant graphic-paintings works.
Your very calmn voice that never gets in the way of 'seeing the work' but enchances...will we see Carsten Greve/ Thadeus Ropec rue des Archive! Thank You
I love James Turrell's work. It would be difficult to showcase his massive installations in a "petite" gallery space. My first encounter with Turrell was during my time spent living in Houston, which has two significant Turrell works. The campus of Rice University has one of his light installations titled Twilight Epiphany, which requires advanced tickets to experience this piece at dusk. Also, the MFAH (Museum of Fine Arts Houston) has an underground light tunnel created by Turrell. Titled The Light Inside, this installation connects two of the campus buildings, the Mies van der Rohe-designed Caroline Weiss Law Building with the newer Audrey Jones Beck Gallery.
Interesting……my first impression is that much of this work lacks the gravitas, edge and sense of engagement I get when you do the same sort of gallery hopping in NYC. Still …I appreciate you covering the ground for us 🙏
Merci beaucoup. To me Johnson’s statement about the works… although impactful… doesn’t really align with the pieces. The ‘fish form’ pieces were a little closer… Whereas Snowdens statement and result were much closer … and what you narrate about the paintings made sense. Thank you for the consideration in your commentary… and insights to the artworld. Like with the significance of work and appropriation. The Warhol Mona Lisa and Venus… would be favorites there…

I personally don't think Warhol needed to riff on historical art imagery to cement his place in art history. Had he done nothing else than his work in the early/ mid 60s he would have still been regarded as a very major player in the art world in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Even the few pieces you showed in the vid shows his mastery of line, color, composition and conceptual art. Compare the vibe in his work to the other more decorative artists in this vid and you see the uncommon genius of Warhol vs the lightweight doodlers and daubers.
Why are all your videos in english and this one is horribly dubbed in brazilian portuguese and theres nothing I can do about it? part of the fun is your voice and that super laid back background music that makes you spleepy. That first artist, Rashid Johnson, nice sculptor, terrible paiter.
RUclips must have changed something (i have the same thing in german) but you can change it back with the Icon in the right corner of the screen. Hope it helps☀️

I pretend to be tagging along with you. It makes never doing the biggest thing on my bucket list less regretful. This 77 year old dying artist urges all of you young people to stop putting off your dreams. I'm fine with it all, however and am enjoying the peace of my last months.

A lot of these artists are no more than con jobs that first Johnston with all paintings looking the same shows total trendy rubbish. People who dont know about art are too afraid to say.
Thank you, I love the comments, music and display of the art. So nice to travel with you. Looking forward to our next journey!

Stay tuned for the next video, there will be a lot of emerging artists in that one!

Outsider art too...creative minds..enjoyed this video
Thank you for your wonderful videos. I really enjoy the lovely music, selective commentary, and traveling all over the world♥️Artist here, too.
Yes. I agree.
Only 11:32 into this beautiful video. Harold Ancart .Wow. Thanks MLB.
yes yes yes any Warhol is good. thank you for what you do i am slowly teaching my 7 year old Thai nephew about art using your channel.
No one should be under any doubt, looking at these paintings, that the West has gone mad.
SUPER SCHARM !
I am a Korean painter. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you

Jamais perderia meu precioso tempo observando essas obras. Pra mim nap dizem nada
Cool video. Sylvia Snowden was interesting. Thank you
Thank you
Thank you. I enjoyed your video, however, I would love to the the work of less well known artists too. Thank you.
Thanks ❤
LOVELY ! Thanks (:

I believe it was a riff on a painting by deChirico❤

Thank you....your videos are wonderful; it's like they are from another world. The cloud at the end looks like an eagle to me...some kind of bird.
🥰
Why does modern art seem to be squiggly lines and or abstract. I don’t see many realistic paintings in many of these art show videos.
Gross art
Are you going to Venice biennale?

the big question is when is the art world going to move on from 1930s abstract art as art as not moved on for decades

anyone else on here think Rashid Johnston is over rated ? or am I missing something with his work. Because Im not feeling it in my opinion.
I actually wasn't sure about this exhibit either at first, I wasn't a fan of the photos, but when I saw it in person it was so much better
I suggest that you look up what "anima" is. In this case, I don't think this has to do with animism, rather the Jungian concept of Anima/Animus.

Extremely poor sound quality
Great video, but some of the weakest painting I’ve ever seen in one grouping.
Do not fall in the trap of just showing main stream art.
Some are soo ugly w little skilll👎🏽👿🐸
