I feel like that I think it's one of those games imo where it's more fun to play than watch . I've had a lot of experience with certain games like that . Games like Resident Evil , God of War , Uncharted , certain games like that. I love watching like certain game play aspects and only reasons for stuff like the games that I named for example is for reactions that's it . But if you play it and experience it yourself I think it might have a different aspect . This game could be heavy with story or there's more to the gameplay that meets the eye . But then again maybe I might be wrong to some people . But to me I think Godfall is something you have to play for yourself to get and see on why if this game is good . Edit : not to mention if this game does have haptic feedback and adaptive triggers support as well. Which could make the gameplay feel better as well

lol people complaining about how easy this looks and how dumb the AI is. This is literally the first level in the game. Of course the enemies are not gonna be crazy challenging right out of the gate. The game is gonna ease you into the combat so it doesn't feel overwhelming until you get familiar with the gameplay. If you are looking for a challenge right from the start then buy Demon's Souls..
I am getting pretty tired of people seemingly thinking the entire game's AI is all like this. Clearly this is a tutorial mission. You just can't tell because of how game journalists play

@OGInfrared Generic doesnt just mean their looting system though? For me, its generic because it is trying to merge a lot of different things into one. Its aesthetics is high-fantasy with Scifi but it mixes WoW design elements with realistic rendering. The material definition (at least on this environment and lighting) makes everything look incredibly shiny. The basic enemies feel and behave like your usual loot-fest games but the bosses behave in a very "Dark Souls" way, with very obvious animation cues for each attack. Their weapons system for the main character has "Monster Hunter" elements yet the animations and camera reminds me of other games. I find this game generic basically because it feels like they are trying to combine elements from many different games into one and ends up being a "jack of all trades, master of none" without its own personality. Also, I don't understand your requirement for "generic" since you ask to name 10 games at least with similar item based loot systems. Basically any Diablo-like game (and RPGs) have item based loot systems so I honestly don't get your point in wanting him to name 10 games.

There seems to be nothing you can climb, or hide in/behind, or jump off of to aid combat. It seems it’s just a dungeon where enemies present themselves to get spanked, and World of Warcraft did this style of level design better 10 years ago with less pretty graphics.

People complaining about the 70 dollar price tag... All triple A games should be at least 70 dollars at this point. The price of games has somehow been immune to inflation for over a decade, a price increase has been long overdue. Be happy it hasn't increased in price the way everything else has since games first cost $60.00, we would be paying over $80.00 a game if that way the case.

I dont get the complaints here. It looks like a fun melee grind on the PS5. With the haptic feedback on the Dual Sense I'm sure this feels great to play as well.
Graphically it looks great, if not a bit too much shine and bloom, but gameplay wise it looks so generic. However considering this is Counterplay Games first big AAA, I'd say its pretty good. They're a relatively small studio with limited experience. I look forward to their future and hope this game does well
This game is already bright enough, why would they choose to have a full game melee light show. How can I enjoy the combat if I'm continously blinded by the fireworks.
I am an xbox fan (getting that out of the way) but PS5 will knock it out of the park with Miles Morales, Demon Soul Remake, Ratchet and Clank etc. Those games will what will push me to also buy the PS5 eventually over the next few years. THIS game however looks undeniably bland and generic. They went for some nice visual choices here but the combat (the most important aspect of a game like this) looks so mundane. They would've been better off creating a combat system that was more in line with something like Souls like or Jedi Fallen Order.
The boss fight looked fun and this is mostly an excuse to test a day one 4K60 game with HDR and Ray-Tracing, something that the other larger games are struggling with but a game like this with smaller environments can show that off a little easier. It's important to note that this is not a Soulslike game, it's more of an action looter, and because of this, the game will live or die on its end-game grind and content. If you spend the rest of the game doing the exact same combo that you do in the first hour of the game without a large upgrade path and interesting loot then the game will not succeed. Think of games like Marvel's Avengers and Anthem to get an idea on how badly this game could fail. All things considered though, with a lack of next gen console titles to play at launch I will probably consider buying this even though the price-point is definitely too high for a game like this (It would be $40-50/£40-50, not 70), I could definitely get a couple of hours fun out of it but I doubt I will be playing this game anymore by the time 2021 arrives... It has "launch title" written all over it... Who knows though I could be wrong, maybe the devs pull a Destiny on us and have big plans for an expanding Universe and content.
This game will be out on Xbox in a year after ps5 hopefully it’s all polished by them otherwise this looks generic as hell but I will see if I will get it in a year.

It LOOKS amazing but feels very flat and lifeless. The enemies barely seem to even grunt with much passion or energy and they just sort of stand there and don't seem to be doing anything until you arrive in a lot of cases. Just feels very empty.

This game is already bright enough, why would they choose to have a full game melee light show. How can I enjoy the combat if I'm continously blinded by the fireworks.
the game looks amazing, only too bright for me, but have a loot of potential :)
I am an xbox fan (getting that out of the way) but PS5 will knock it out of the park with Miles Morales, Demon Soul Remake, Ratchet and Clank etc. Those games will what will push me to also buy the PS5 eventually over the next few years.
THIS game however looks undeniably bland and generic. They went for some nice visual choices here but the combat (the most important aspect of a game like this) looks so mundane.
They would've been better off creating a combat system that was more in line with something like Souls like or Jedi Fallen Order.
The boss fight looked fun and this is mostly an excuse to test a day one 4K60 game with HDR and Ray-Tracing, something that the other larger games are struggling with but a game like this with smaller environments can show that off a little easier. It's important to note that this is not a Soulslike game, it's more of an action looter, and because of this, the game will live or die on its end-game grind and content. If you spend the rest of the game doing the exact same combo that you do in the first hour of the game without a large upgrade path and interesting loot then the game will not succeed. Think of games like Marvel's Avengers and Anthem to get an idea on how badly this game could fail.
All things considered though, with a lack of next gen console titles to play at launch I will probably consider buying this even though the price-point is definitely too high for a game like this (It would be $40-50/£40-50, not 70), I could definitely get a couple of hours fun out of it but I doubt I will be playing this game anymore by the time 2021 arrives... It has "launch title" written all over it... Who knows though I could be wrong, maybe the devs pull a Destiny on us and have big plans for an expanding Universe and content.
The game certainly looks shiny, that's for sure.
I like the movement speed. I am starting to not like shooters that dont have left or right dashing.

This game will be out on Xbox in a year after ps5 hopefully it’s all polished by them otherwise this looks generic as hell but I will see if I will get it in a year.

Do you know how to redeem codes, i purchased the Ascended edition online and to redeem the codes you have to sign up for Shift gearbox, For someone reason the Shift gear website wont link with my PSN account😦
I have a feeling this game will get a score somewhere between the 6 to MAYBE 8 range. That's only based off my limited impression though.

God damn, that's a good looking game!
It LOOKS amazing but feels very flat and lifeless. The enemies barely seem to even grunt with much passion or energy and they just sort of stand there and don't seem to be doing anything until you arrive in a lot of cases. Just feels very empty.
Think I'll need a comparison vid with PS4 as this doesn't appear that graphically different compared with PS4 stuff
