I am in the process of changing out my spark plug. I have a new one in the package and gapped correctly. Unfortunatley, when I pulled the cap off something was left on the tip of the spark plug. It looked like a connector from the boot. I think I may have to replace the boot. Can I just replace the boot or do I have to replace the whole coil wire and coil? I can't seem to disconnect the wire from the coil and I don't want to tug too hard.
Ah okay. The coil lead is bonded to the coil so don't try remove as you'll break it. The plug cap has a screw thread that goes down inside the HT lead so if you hols the cable and rotate the cap anti-clockwise it should come off. make sure you replace with the correct ohm rated plug cap! Specs in the Service Manual Hope this helps Andy
Best tips to start a quad in cold weather 0 degrees etc ? Having a hard time even with battery topped off tendered. I think maybe I need new plug although it eh s fairly well. It is kind of hard to start in non cold weather. I have to throttle it and play with throttle while choke is engaged. Or it will die. Once she warms up it will idle in choke with no throttle
We have a very neglected 2007 Grizzly 450. Yesterday, changed oil and filter, and coolant, which wasn't in too bad of shape. The quad has been hard to keep started, have to warm up with choke in position 1 and warm it up there quite awhile before it won't quit when you close it down to 4. I bought a fresh spark plug and went to change it out today and found oil on the plug! I'm green as you can get so don't know what to do next!
Oh dear.....sounds like the bore may be worn letting engine oil into the combustion chamber. Just check all the engine breathers aren't blocked first, then do a compression test... Also, you may want to pull the carb off & give the jets a good clean out too... Good Luck. Cheers Andy
Thanks for posting, just curious how many km does that 2014 have? Im looking at a 2008 grizzly 700 with 6000km and wondering how many more km i can should expect ..??
NGK plugs don’t need anti seize on them from the factory they use a coating on there to prevent problems. Actually there is TSB on the website. But cooper paste is still good to use.
The clutch is not in the CVT, its behind the primary (engine sheave) - it runs in oil & also houses the one way or sprag bearing that provides engine braking You have to remove both sheaves & the rear plastic CVT cover to gain access to the aluminum cover. Oh & the nut that retains the carrier to the end of the crank shaft is left hand thread Good luck Cheers Andy
Hi, Yes, sorry, I did reply to his but it seems it has gone? Anyway, yes, 20Nm is just fine for your bike if that's what it states in the workshop manual. It is different for each make & model of bike. Hope this is of help. Cheers Andy
Back fair kindly for the tell pop. Like I can give it gas then pop die down .pick up pop pop again. y Im riding it? also have a bad gas cable. Got a new one haven't put it on yet
You skipped over the part I needed to see and then never even showed a shot of how much plastic you had to remove to access the Plug. I need to know how to get down to the spark plug. Any 10 yr old can change a plug. it's disassembly part that's hard.
I don't know how you don't have more subs!
Thank you for this great video!
+Nir Hason Thanks Nir, subs are on the up now, almost 300 new this January :-)
That's a good sign! I'm one of them ;)
Best atv videos. Need more for my 2002 grizzly 660 ! Lol

There are a few different setups. what vehicle is it?
@@AndyMechanic My apologies. It's a 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 4X4. It looks the same as your video shows.

Having problems starting, it a fuel issued . I changed the fuel filter but still won't start. Do you gave a video on changing the fuel injector?
Where is spark plug wire actually wired on engine side? That thick black wire go to where?

How to add brake fluid to the rear brakes on a 450 yahama kodiak 2018. Hard to find. Thanks
Erm....the Kodiak has a wet internal brake. It's not hydraulic. You simply adjust up the cable :-)

@@AndyMechanic Thanks, Andy! Do you have any videos for that stuff? LOL!
yes, there are videos on compression testing & carb inspection on the channel. Good Luck. Cheers Andy
Very useful, thank you.
I have a 2006 Yamaha 450cc and it only goes 25 mph with a load if I jack it up it goes up to 54 mph can this be the spark plug?
660 have same location ?
Thanks for posting, just curious how many km does that 2014 have? Im looking at a 2008 grizzly 700 with 6000km and wondering how many more km i can should expect ..??
Oh 6000km is low, most of the ATVs here in NZ will rack up 20 to 30,000km without major issue provided they are serviced every 1,500km.
Cheers Andy

Hey Andy, another quick question if you can, should there ever be maintenance done on the clutch?
Well do you mean the CVT drive sheaves or the centrifugal clutch?
@@AndyMechanic well pretty sure its a cvt clutch, its on a 2008 grizzly 700.

@@AndyMechanic ok Thankz 👍
good video and. does the carb on that 2014 yahama grizzly have an air fuel adj????
Hello , I own a yamaha bws scooter and my service manual said 20NM , it's is good ?
Thanks for you answer.

Hey. I have any grizzly 660. And I want to no what can cause it to blow back? ?
+Jason Williams hi Jason, do you mean it's popping back through the intake?
Back fair kindly for the tell pop. Like I can give it gas then pop die down .pick up pop pop again. y Im riding it? also have a bad gas cable. Got a new one haven't put it on yet
I have an Yamaha grizzly 660 4x4 dirf lock
+Jason Williams check the valve clearances. Sounds like intake is below spec. Also check pickup coil for ignition - located down with the stator.

Hey andy what if the front gear wand move the Roar at all like it catche and grar then some time it want? ?

You can get to the plug without removing any plastics. Not all 10 year olds can replace a spark plug correctly...
