      Prioritizing effective personal finance management holds greater significance than the sheer amount saved, irrespective of income source. These are extremely useful rules for anyone looking to grow rich. Unfortunately, the majority of individuals that see this video will be unable to implement the ideas. We may not like to acknowledge it, but as Warren Buffett famously stated, investing is like any other profession: it takes a certain amount of knowledge. It's no surprise that some people are losing a lot of money during the bear market, while others are profiting by hundreds of thousands. I'm just not sure how they do it. I now have around $570k to invest in the market.

    Let’s be honest too. Just by looking at Shelby, she’s a go getter and a hard worker. She’s the type to grab the bull by the horns, if you’re not that type, it doesn’t matter how many videos on YT about becoming a millionaire you watch, you’ll never get there.

      I agree but let's say the obvious, her beauty has a lot to do with it as well. This is not a shot against her, but I have seen better content creators with no where near the beauty she has and they struggle. She's a great creator but to act like her beauty and sex appeal has not contributed to it would be dishonest at best. Point is the beautiful people have more of a head start for success than those without.

      @@gregap8282 Understood and agree for the most part. I am just pointing out for those without the attractive looks, it is much harder to get viewers no matter how engaging and informative the content is. Having beauty certainly helps just as much as working hard and establishing good content creation habits. Again, it is not a shot at Shelby or her fans at all. People are naturally drawn to beauty and that helps a lot.

    I like your list of habits. However, one thing about you, Shelby, which doesn't apply to everyone is that you have always had a supportive family. You had that as a cushion, especially when you started out as a teenager on YT. I would say that all very successful "high net worth" people have supportive family and/or friends they can count on. Connections. Many people out there who want to make money and be successful don't have that kind of support and may even come from very tough or abusive backgrounds. Or have experienced homelessness. It's super hard to dig oneself out of a bad situation or get anywhere in the world when you're alone and have no safety net.

    • @theyofactor

    Currently, things appear to be odd. Inflation is reducing the value of the US dollar, but it is strengthening in comparison to other currencies and commodities like real estate and gold. People are switching to the dollar because they believe it is safer. I worry that the rising cost of living may cause the value of my retirement savings to decline. We could put our cash right now.

I had heard somewhere that a lot of us are net consumers ( watching tv,reading stuff online ,basically taking in or consuming stuff )and that what we should concentrate on is to become net producers. Shelby - Love how smart and driven you are!! One thing that I did was to run my networth growth like it's a business. If you're selling widgets, you'd chart the performance each month. I did that. Have a spreadsheet w/ assets and liabilities w/ a goal at the bottom ofc. On the asset side, I listed the stocks and homes etc. The stock prices would auto-update on excel. On the liabilities side, it's great to see what were the low hanging fruit to pay off. On a diff sheet, I'd list monthly expenses. Instead of dissecting spending each month (very tedious and never fun, bc we all know it's more fun to just spend on whatev and not have to worry abt it), I'd take a monthly avg of total spending. Take that # and divide back my tax rate and my rate of return, the quotient is my goal for financial independence. I then took monthly snapshots of the networth / achievements and visually ID the progress and determine changes needed to attain my goal.

It’s costs a lot less to change filters, repair leaks, top off fluids, than it does to buy new. Good video! Influencer money (or any other high paying job) does the trick though. I live all of these habits and unfortunately, I still won´t become a millionaire by the time I retire unless the stock market goes super super well. A lot of jobs don´t pay that well as youtube/ influencer jobs do. So you can only invest so much. And not everybody can and wants become an influencer. Luckily, because we need people working all kinds of jobs (low, mid and big salary) for society to work the way it does.

    Shelby never listen to the "sure but" people. Jealousy shows it's ugly head in people all the time. One of the first signs is when people say, "Sure she's rich but she's pretty or went to college or is tall or has a rich family or started early in youtube or comes from a good home or blah, blah, blah." These people DREAM of doing great things without ever TRYING to do great things. "SURE BUT' statements are a jealous way to refuse to give credit to those who are willing to persevere to achieve success. True success comes from using what YOU have, not from pointing out what you have not. If you have a hammer and nails maybe it would be difficult to build a skyscraper, then how about a chair to sit in....start there. Thanks for the video and inspiration. Keep up the good work.

    Cooking is such a necessary habit. I am never eating out for as long as I live. I cook all my meals. Increase food storage to bank on pantry items if inflation feels impossible to beat or prefer not to take multiple trips to grocery shop. Turning an entire closet into a pantry can save on grocery bills & invest money for the long term.
    Also eating is like a lifelong need, so you might as well develop meal prepping and budgeting habits from just that. I'm 23 and my goal networth is 3 million. I'm hopefully gonna manifest that if I invest every month from what I save on cooking from home and groceries.

      all she did in the video was buy 1 share every so often of "VOO" which is a Vanguard fund, which tracks the S&P 500, kinda like a 401K but she is buying shares every so often herself on an app instead of the 'managed' 401K. The S&P often goes up over time, but buying shares (especially when it has gone down) can over time increase the value of your money. Just consistently buying 1 share (or even fractional shares where you can buy a fraction of a share if you dont have the money for 1 share), over time likely increases. Your fund can sometimes loose money- there is always risk (like dips during housing crash and covid) but it usually rebounds. Vangaurd funds that track indexes like (S&P, Nasdaq, Dow) are the safest bets. I WOULD NOT "day trade" if clueless as people often will loose their money and NEVER buy penny stocks. Take it safe and buy parts or 1 share of Vanguard funds every so often is the message she was doing.

It’s so hard to start, throw myself into the unknown and risk. As for my goal NW - I’m rather working on lowering my costs than earning crazy figures, it’s hard for me to imagine my early retirement in a high cost area/country, but it’s around 2.5M in a low cost one.

      If you don’t have money to make more money, this is exactly what you must do to get rich:
      1. When you are poor, TIME is your only currency.
      2. Everyone has 24 hours in the day, so use your TIME wisely.
      3. Cheat code: Work smarter, harder, and more hours than everyone you know.
      4. Take your TIME and invest in learning skills.
      5. Intern/work for someone you want to learn from or learn skills for free or cheap online.
      6. Sometimes you may need to take out a loan to learn or work for free. This is called taking a risk on yourself.
      7. Or you can bootstrap your investment in yourself. It can take shorter or longer depending on your learning style.
      8. The more skills you have, the more valuable you become as a person.
      9. Take those skills and create something that can be monetized or sold.
      10. Be patient, and constantly perfect your product and process.
      11. The feelings around working harder than everyone else are *always* bad, so never base your work ethic on how you feel.
      12. Bonus: Work on self-development - both inner self and outer self. Have good character and values, be in shape and eat healthy, and groom and dress as good as your can. Improve 1% everyday.

    Would you rather be rich, or happy? Is being content the goal? If you feel content, you're satisfied,THAT is true wealth. For some, the money is never enough and they remain unhappy. Much of what you spoke about is true; discipline, a "stick to it" attitude, acceptance of failure being part of the journey to success, but don't confuse wealth with happiness, they don't necessarily correlate. While this was a well done video and congratulations on that, you missed something really important: True abundance is not measured by what you have, it is measured by what you give.

    • @johnpoldo8817
      @johnpoldo8817 6 месяцев назад

      No, wealthy vs happy is not an either or situation. You can have wealth and be happy or sad. Similarly, you can be poor and have either feelings. You would be surprised how many lower income families are very happy.
      If you are materialistic and want lots of nice things, you better find a way to make enough money to buy them or expect a very disappointing life. Unearned wealth such as winning the lottery or a big inheritance brings long term sadness in 75% of the situations.

    • @murraypollard
      @murraypollard 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@johnpoldo8817 The point is money for the sake of money does not mean happiness in all cases despite what marketing sells us, large amounts of unearned money can and does bring problems on it's own. Lotteries, amongst other things, well, most people know how to spend money, its what we are taught, not a lot know how to make money.

      I missed the part where she said wealth = happiness. The point of the video was how she became a millionaire. Her content never seems to focus on wealth being the essential ingredient to happiness. Instead, she often addresses the importance of connection, friends and family to her own personal happiness. She didn’t miss the mark here-her video was completely on point to the topic.
