What makes Noise so interesting to me is that he cheats to absolutely decimate his opposition. If played perfectly he mows down enemies with much less effort than Peppino. However when they go head to head, all of that hard effort that Peppino put into perfectly mastering his abilities puts the Noise in his place.
Didnt even mention that the Noise campaign is fictional in-universe, as seen in the end screen and p-rank screen. It’s a movie he made to take credit for Peppino’s accomplishment. When playing swap mode, he isnt even actually there with him. It’s Peppino’s brother Maurice playing him in the movie. This means his feats such as scaring fake peppino and going super are actually just him gassing himself up in a movie, refusing to admit he has any sort of weakness.
I've heard that Mcpig's interpretation of the Noise update is that Noise got his ass kicked so badly during the Pizza Tower events that he made the movie so he could heal his ego. Doise is there so he can pretend that he wasn't one of the bosses and it was actually "just some guy who looked similar to him".
@@NumbDigger-ns3ng If I remember correctly, someone made a blog about their thoughts on the update and there's a part where they say that they've talked about it with one of their friends. Apparently this friend is close with Mcpig and told them about Mcpig's interpretations of the update.
It also makes sense in a different way that The Noise would put Fake Peppino into his place. Fake Peppino was designed to be a twisted version of Peppino, a grotesque representation of his insecurities and fears. Needless to say: That's Peppino's problem, not the Noise's. So that won't work on him. You could even say the opposite for The Doise: The Doise is more of a bootleg than anything else, with an unsettling ambiance. And the fight makes you understand very well that it's just off enough to feel wrong: Every attacks are copies of Noise's, except for the bombs which are replaced by bouncing rocks, this is the only fight where The Noise feels actually confused and even a bit unsettled, and when he's defeated, the Doise doesn't get ended by any kind of Doisette, he gets ended by Peddito in a rather brutal way. You don't even get to fight him twice, and that doesn't disturb The Noise: He finds it much more comfortable having this thing dead anyway. It just feels right for this thing to not exist.
My favorite touch for The Noise's campaign and how he just kind of cheats a level's gimmick is how he handles Don't Make a Sound. If the animatronics catch him, Noise just fucking dies. And then drops back onscreen like nothing happened. Which given the post-game revelation that the entire thing is a film meant to crib off of Peppino's accomplishments, makes me imagine The Noise just brought the literal animatronics onto the set and didn't tell the stunt doubles. After all, to paraphrase The Simpsons: THE NOISE CAN NEVER DIE, ONLY THE ACTORS WHO PLAY HIM!
I always thought that was something he could normally do because of his boss fight. Besides , the Noise is too much of a reckless idiot to not do his own stunts.
If Peppino emboidies the Panic and Stress of your unknowing first romp through the game's namesake, Noise embodies the Blood pumping and often Maniacle energy of the second lap. Perfectly embodied by his rank screens having no problem in letting the player know that they know the game by now, and Can indeed do better (even with noise's standards aside)
I’m honestly surprised you didn’t mention one of the most “show up-y” things noise has ever done The entirety of the noise campaign is a movie. Why does noise throw all those stickers on the title card? Because he’s covering up the fact that Peppino did all of this. Why does Doise exist? Noise made up a boogie man to go “IT WASN’T ME BEATING UP SOME PIZZA GUY! IT WAS THAT NEFARIOUS DOISE!” Even in the final judgements, he blames SOMEONE ELSE for the fact that he didn’t get a good ranking!
Honestly the Doise’s appearance actually confuses the noise when you fight him implying it wasn’t part of the script, maybe it was going to be a fight against “Peppino” who was actually Maurice (Peppinos brother who takes his place in swap mode) but the Doise ruined those plans by breaking in.

Unironically, this video made me understand a little more why playble Noise is so perfect while all the ideas to bring back the scrapped playble characters not fail, but feel like something is missing. (Not complaining btw) Noise feels like playing a bad guy and making everything his playground to do any bs all around. Yet still, it takes effort to master everything all around. Meanwhile, some of the takes of playble Vigi feel like making his boss battle playble, which, it kinda makes sense, considering Vigi was made during the Early Builds and then scrapped in the Rework and Eggplant builds, plus i get the idea of Vigilante being more of a serious "My own way" character, using his gun and Dynamite. But yeah, i feel like just giving all the moves from his battle feels weird. Although i'm glad some MODs remove the use the Dynamite to Super Jump thing. As much as i love Snick (After all, its him) and i would loved to see him again and not as a cameo, i gotta admit he doesn't have much of a personality. He was just made for the SAGE 2019 BETA and his moveset is just Sonic 2D gameplay with some Kirby vibes from his transformations. There's many things that could be done with the boyo, but first what he needs is to have a proper identidy. The only thing that all playble Pepperman have is that he's ball. That's it, i wouldn't be surprised why he was quickly scrapped in the Vanilla game. I think if they leaned a little more to the fact Pepperman is a stupid ass himbo artist in the gameplay, there could be something good as well. For the little that we know of playble Mr. Stick, is that he can fly, he uses his own type of transformations like a guitar or going bouncy pouncy (¿?), or just kill the rats with points/coinsz there's something interesting but idk how McPig and co will make Stick shine more, specially now that they're busy with Woon. But yeah, overall, it was peak D4 video, as usal, and peak Noise.
I do like the recent Scoutduigo (I think that’s the name) take on Vigi where instead of using the levels gimmicks, he’ll gain new weapons per level to act as said gimmick (like using a Police baton in Peppibot factory to fly and spin, or his grandpa taking his gun away in fun farm) That being said.. most takes on playable Pepperman are just the same.
At the end of Peppinos story, we see he’s gone back to the station quo. (Mostly.) But at the end of the Noise’s… they’re isn’t really an ending, because there is no satisfactory way to end it. Not just on a player level, but also on Noise’s terms. The Noise’s story is a farce, a blatant attempt to lie about being the real protagonist of Pizza Tower via film. If the game ended with the film being successful, then the Noise would be rewarded for something completely fake, unoriginal and effortless, much like his old job as a mascot. But if the film flopped, that wouldn’t hold up against the Noise’s perfectionist ego. The Noise can’t lose because of his ego, but because of this no-loss contract, he’ll just return to the hollow state he was in the comic, lamenting the fake-ness of his life. In a way, the Noise has also returned to his status quo, despite losing his original place of employment and making a film to make up for that. But he’d never let anyone see that, so instead we only see the wrapping up of his film making venture. The last moments of happiness he has before, success or no success, the truth crushes his soul. The Noise is a loser. Not because he can’t win, but because he can’t admit he hasn’t won anything that matters. Here’s the screen that says a winner is you. Go home.
How’d you not even mention that the entire noise campaign didn’t even happen, and is just him telling the story but as the main character to stroke his own ego
