You do realize a cheetah can only maintain top speed for less than 3s? And can only run for about 30s before overheating. A greyhound can maintain speeds of around 35mph for up to 7 miles. A cheetah on average barely covers more than 350 meters at most
Maybe you’re vizsla just doesn’t show that, just because you have a vizsla doesn’t mean it’s as fast as other vizslas, for example my vizsla keeps up with my sisters greyhound, you should see them at the park.

This is typical crass American bs. The AKC has stuffed up so many breeds with their manufactured standards, many US dog owners also feel the need to stuff up dog history.
“A” Weimaraner probably did not, but a pack,of Weims most certainly, which is generally how mountain lions, bear, and other large predators are hunted by hounds. One on one a mountain lion would have a Weim for lunch, the same with most hounds. But I have seen a mule grab a mountain lion by the tail and beat it to death so, you know, keep an eye on that mellow looking horse cousin. He isn’t the push over you’d think.
Lol yep about grayhounds. They love their exercise but they equally love to lounge around in the most insane positions imaginable. A great family pet, but prone to separation anxiety
I have had two Vizsla's our first one was fast as greased lightning she loved being chased by other dogs. She had two tricks to out pace the dogs that were chasing her she drop it into a higher gear to maintain her lead and if that did not work she turn a sharp corner with her agility which often resulted in other dogs wiping out because they attempted to follow her. She often reminded me of the handling of a super car compared to the cornering ability of a super tanker.
My German Shepherd was chasing a Visla at the dog park and the Visla veered away as you said yours did, but my German Shepherd 'cheated'. She decided to change her tactics and changed her direction and intercepted the Visla at the end of its arc. Both dogs collided and fell over with legs flying and I was worried for a moment, but they both got up looked like they'd both had a lot of fun. The Visla didn't try and run away again, it knew the gig was up. :)
I learned a lot about Vizsla’s as a breed when I bought my first. I bought mine from the former National Vizsla Committee President. He’s been breeding them since the 80’s. He taught me the history of the breed and when they first showed up in the 50’s here in the states. He also told me today there are too many breeders that have breed a lot of the pure Vizsla’s characteristics, both visual and physical out of them for various reason, to make them show dogs. He calls them American Vizsla’s. A lot of the American Vizsla’s look different and don’t have near the athleticism that the pure Hungarian Vizsla’s do. As far as Vizsla’s being fast, I can 100% confirm mine is. She can cut on a dime too. It’s very impressive to watch.
@@Denva_cool Because it's a question of mathematic and phisiology of the dog. A jack Russell is small and has short legs. All his Speed depends on the frequency of jumping, not on the length of a single jump. So, to reach that speed, a Jack Russel should jump something like 15-17 times/second and you understand on your own that it's phisically impossible for a serie of reasons. One of them is the breathing frequency that is related with the jumping. Consider that Each jump provokes a compression on the lungs and an expiration. The dog should breath so fast that it would influence the heart beat and the stamina. A Jack Russel is not a dog built for running. He is fast, but not that speed: 60 km/h it's ridiculous. Where does this scientist work? Circus?
It’s false, even if it were true, it wouldn’t be. Those little legs can cover the distance that a greyhound Saluki or whippet could. Actually he used average speeds for every dog breed except the JRT which he either lied about or used a WR speed. The average top speed is 25-30mph for a JRT
@Christopher Cao they don't get trained to be slow! the fastest they can possibly go with those legs is 25 mph, no way more. That mistake makes sense and it is a charitable interpretation of what happened there.

People arguing about whose dog is faster lol so silly. My dog is faster at eating and falling asleep so there
Ethan Doyle lmao 😂
Ha ha 😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆

My dog will best your dog, my dog can finish a bowl in 30 secs and fall asleep on the spot.

India's breeds Kanni 60 kmph, Chippiparai 60 kmph, Mudhol hound 65 kmph.
Rajapalayam breed also bro..
In the last year over exaggerations have gone up by a hundred gazillion percent
Jack Russel still has it according to this list !!
umm there's no dog on the earth faster than that
Am just a little confused as to what kmph is. Is it like a kilometer on top of a mile !!?? That would be a bloody quick dog !!
Never realized my Jack Russells back in the day could be that fast, damn. Miss them doggies 💕
No way is my jack russel faster than a whippet. It’s not even as fast as my working English bull terrier
You should train your dog to make it run faster not just cuddle with it in ur bedroom
My Jack Russel was the 2nd in Worldchampionschips 2018 .He reached 34mph . Jack russels are insane !!!! But keep it in your mind on a long Distance they are not the fastest.!!!
My Jack Russell outruns our cats and all the dogs at the dog park and she's 10 years old
@@anouarelpablo4828
My jackrussel is even faster, he reaches 130 mph. He races against motorbikes.
If you want any advice about the type of rocket to push in its ass.. ask me
It's true
My saluki disagrees. Salukis are definately 2nd >.< the thought of him not being able to catch a jack russell hurts his feelings
@Ticker 100% saluki second
what
Exactly greyhound, Saluki,whippet
There are definitely several sighthounds as fast as the saluki ( spanish galgo, sloughi, azawakh ). Not saying they are faster than the saluki, but they are at least as fast.
@@iapalategi sloughi is another name for Saluki actually
Are you high with this list? Viszla and Jack Russell??? Lol!
Have a whippet/lab mix but definitely leans more towards the whippet side (comes up past my knees but only weighs 19lbs lol). I don’t know if she is faster that a pure whippet but when I take her to the dog park she is like a rocket and acts like she isn’t even trying when running with the other dogs. It’s awesome to watch.
I use to have a whippet. I love that dog. It was really more like a cat very self sufficient and just love lazing in the sun.
My Jack Russell can’t even run faster than me, so why is it on the list? I’m surprised !
😂😂
Because that’s one dog, not the whole breed
Collies deserve to be on this list. They're straight line speed is incredible.
I came on here trying to see where mine fit in. She's the fastest dog at the beach and she's 13! She runs after the birds for hours nonstop. People always ask me about her!
Yess lurcher is also not here which is a collie mixed with a greyhound
My whippets past my motorbike at 70kph
Is there another planet with dog breeds?
Who knows
"45 mph huh? So what do you do in the next three gears? Pleeeease!" - Cheetah
You do realize a cheetah can only maintain top speed for less than 3s? And can only run for about 30s before overheating. A greyhound can maintain speeds of around 35mph for up to 7 miles. A cheetah on average barely covers more than 350 meters at most
@@kadenbrink3012 WELL GEE WILLIKERS!! So that's why dragsters don't race stock cars?!! :D Lighten up.
My jack russell always running around like a maniac in the yard. Thankful inhave a big yard for him!
I have two greyhounds of my own 🥰
I keep catching one of them taking one of my plushies from my bed, to THEIR bed 😤
Yeah I have greyhounds of my self they like to chew on stuff there not supposed to.
I have a viszla and I’m not convinced they deserve no. 3 on the list!
Yeah I have 2 salukies who play with a visla well when I say play the visla cant keep up
Maybe you’re vizsla just doesn’t show that, just because you have a vizsla doesn’t mean it’s as fast as other vizslas, for example my vizsla keeps up with my sisters greyhound, you should see them at the park.
In the race for success, speed is only one part of the equation; endurance and strategy play equally crucial roles.
I had a Jack Russell and also dog-sit my friend's 4 Borzois. The Jack is great at bobbing and weaving and could possibly outmaneuver them. But in a straight-out sprint, no way a Jack can beat any sighthound breed.
I don't think a JR can beat a Weimer. Definitely not my dogs.
I have a whippet, I've seen it running with borzoi, Vizla, Jack Russel and Dalmatian. It was faster then all of them
The only dog to outrun my whippet was a greyhound. I race and course.
Put the Doberman pinscher but love the video
I have a jack Russell and she can’t outrun my husky.
Liar
@@wald3maras ummmmm why do you say that? Have you ever seen my jack Russell and my husky run around my property? I have and I have seen him out run her, especially over a longer distance then just 30 feet. So the next time you call someone a liar make sure you have all the facts. Plus I guarantee that you wouldn't call me a liar to my face. You're just like most spineless trolls on RUclips. You have a lot to say but only from the comfort of your keyboard.
I have a jack russel and husky also and my jack russel is way faster
When did a weimaraner hunt mountain lions
The same day that a jack russel could outrun a Saluki :P
@@miakarlstrom7083 god 1 both of you
This is typical crass American bs.
Ibezen Hound is packin ong
ah yes my favorite dog breeds: cheetah and car
Lol yep about grayhounds. They love their exercise but they equally love to lounge around in the most insane positions imaginable. A great family pet, but prone to separation anxiety
I’ve owned greys and never had separation issues. Maybe cuz I’ve always had 3+ dogs at one time.
@@comusrules1244 that would probably help
I had a rottweiler/doberman who would run up to 30mph while pulling me on my skateboard. My friends would follow in their car, and they were amazed.
Seriously fit agile dogs are Vizsla`s. They are as fit as they look.
My GSP used to do something similar.
When a Vizla's butt drops down, she's hitting a gear only her, whippets, and greyhounds have.

Oh sweetie... That's a cheetah, not a dog
Whippet is a best 😻
My Doberman will run down any Jack Russell Terrier on the planet.
yes, they rub¿n 48km/h, this top is old
Yep, mine too. We've got a Jack. I'm 55 and can run as fast as she does. Well, nearly..
Jack Russell terrier can only run 25 MPH not 45 LMFAO
@Christopher Cao
They can be fast for their size, but they are not faster than a whippet for sure.
Why do people not believe this is true I talked to a scientist when I went to a museum and I asked her this question and she said it's true
@@Denva_cool
Because it's a question of mathematic and phisiology of the dog.
Circus?
@@oisin1304 boy little dogs can run as fast as they can because they're so tiny they can still be fast

Margaret Meaker ikr
it's not
It's not and the list is absolutely crap. It's only dogs from the sight hound group who is the fastest. Who ever did this have a lack of knowledge.
Some folks will put up anything just to keep the channel up.
The way he said weimaraner, had me questioning this video from the beginning
Yep- I have one and it’s actually pronounced vima-na-rer
Jack Russell Terrier!! Who would have thought that they were one of the fastest dog breeds, with such short limbs
It’s false, even if it were true, it wouldn’t be. Those little legs can cover the distance that a greyhound Saluki or whippet could. Actually he used average speeds for every dog breed except the JRT which he either lied about or used a WR speed. The average top speed is 25-30mph for a JRT
A lot of lies, there is no way a jack Russell can do 45 mph let rubbish
Yeah
OMG they r so cute and no
Yeah they're quick but there no where near as quick as a whippet. I think they literally mixed up the jack Russell and the whippet on this list
Evan Timm nothing will catch a whippet up to 30yards your right, after that the greyhound will take over,a Jack Russell will not.
@@SuperJacobe greyhound = bugatti

I think you mistook 45 mph with 45 km/h when it comes to jack russells my friend
@Christopher Cao they don't get trained to be slow! the fastest they can possibly go with those legs is 25 mph, no way more. That mistake makes sense and it is a charitable interpretation of what happened there.

I often see this in many videos. Even the owner doesnt seem to know, that their dogs are just big Iggys. (Mine had 8 kg, and had the size of a small whippet)
I’ve clocked my pit bull at 36 with a radar gun. She’s lean though.
I believe you .It depends on Training and exersize👍👍
That's why I am here. Mine can keep up with the 4 wheeler wide open. She is amazingly fast. But she is lean too, an 'athlete'.
I love my greyhound rescue, he's a massive love bug, but his prey drive is huge, we have to be super alert to squirrels, rabbits and foxes as hes so quick. ❤

The Irish Wolfhound has gotta be up around 40mph.
Nah, I’ve seen them coursing. They’re very lumbering. They’re built beefy.
I was surprised that Jack Russell was on this list because I have a Jack Russell and he is not faster than my husky 😂
@UwU have you ever seen a jrt compete in flyball? nope? you won't - their legs are too small to compete with larger dogs. Narrator even said it himself 'fast... for their size'.
