Off the wall question. I park my pup under trees to keep the sun off it, I don't have a carport, I also cover it to keep off sap and from leaves staining it. I put the silver side up on the tarp to cut down on heat build up. It this ok

Never a tarp. Tarps can trap condensation and cause quick damage. Consider a breathable RV cover.

Great video! Quick question , i was raising my popup the other day and about half way up it got very hard to crank. I stopped and checked underneath. Found one of the corner cables had skipped the pully and got stuck really bad. After 3 hours and lots of bad words i was able to fix it. Can you tell me what would cause this? And how to prevent it? Thanks so much.

Any tricks for inserting a c clip to the 1st stage cable without removing the assembly, clip came off and loop fell off of the pin

It’s not something that I would try. Just remove the arm.

Also one other question. I have a 2005 fleetwood valor. I was checking the lift height, according to the chart mine should measure 46-47 inches. It currently measures 44.5 to 45 depending on the corner. The problem I'm having is I don't think the canvas well allow me to go 2 more inches...is that chart correct for my model?

Jon, there are a few errors in the books over the 30 plus years they were produced. Myself, I know of 2. It's possible, but more likely a cable adjustment or a canvas replacement may be required.

What year camper is that lift system from? I have a 2010 Fleetwood/Coleman E3. My cables seem to be in a bind because top is really hard to lift. I have to turn crank a few time, then walk around the camper and manually lift up on the corners. Also, the top will not raise all the way up because door will not seat. Seems to be a few inches low.

David, Your camper may just need some TLC. For hard to raise issues, many times the thrust bearing is the culprit. Height adjustments can be done at the whiffle tree drawbar, and at the pulley guide brackets.

@@popupcamperpro Got it done. Took about 3 hours. The front cables ended up being a little long (installed by previous owner or OEM). Even thought there was a knot already in the line, the adjustment was bottomed out so no more room. I ended up adding another knot (all knots located by the wiffle tree) to give me about 1" of adjustment. I was then able to get the top to raise all the way up. It still seems a bit tough to raise but definitely better. This is my second E3 and the first one also had knots in the front two cables but raising that one was a breeze. I'll take this one out a couple of times and see if I can live with the toughness to raise. If not, I will replace the thrust bearing as suggested. Thanks for your videos and support. BTW, I called a dozen shops and mobile RV repair people and no one wanted to tackle this job. Really not that big a deal if you are handy.

Hello Derek, I am a new Coleman owner. I am planning a restoration and remodeling of a 1985 Williamsburg. My first question is: can the manual cable system be replaced by a linear electric system of some kind? I have weak shoulders.

Sure! Expect some fabrication for your camper though.

So you have to remove the whole arm to replace the short cable?

It doesn't appear you can get the assembly out without cutting out the stage cable on mine

4 bolts from inside the frame attach the bottom of the arm to the trailers frame.
