After looking for a super thin laptop, i went for this one and I'm not disappointed. I love the keyboard, the screen and the battery life. Even the sound is not bad, for such a thin device, and performance is not bad at all.
Hello, the trackpad is good but not the best, I've switched to a Lenovo with a Precision Touchpad and it's better in every way and fan noise is pretty good for such a thin laptop, after uninstalling some bloatware it became quieter because it ran cooler.
Bagus Prasada I have that one too) Can you tell me - when using stylus, should you apply some force to it before Windows register the press? Or you can barely touch screen with a stylus and draw a line for example? I want to know, is my unit defective or not.
I have no problem with the stylus/pen, everything went so well so far. But initially I did have a problem with the heat and the always-on fan. But after updating the BIOS, the problem is gone. Maybe for your case, try to update the driver related to the pen. Or install the HP support Assistant if necessary. here's the link: support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-spectre-13-ae000-x360-convertible-pc/16779579/model/19147051 Hope it helps.
I still have the 2015 spectre x360, which I use at home all the time even though I have one of the higher end new macbook pros 15" for work. The HP has held up well.
see for the devices that have both fingerprint and windows hello, i wish windows 10 would allow this semi- '2-factor authentication' where you would have to do both to unlock the device. It would be optional so only for people who would bother to do so, can get a more peaceful 'sense of mind' even though adding that wouldn't really do very much.
I really love the form-factor of the 13t, but the 15t is just slightly more and has far better GPU options and a far better CPU option: Intel Core i7-8705G w/ Radeon Vega GPU. I am likely going to buy the 15t.
If you need more portability the 13 worth it, if you plug an eGPU you will have a great gamming experience on it. I usually don't play games out of my home so it would be a good deal.
I own this device (4k unit) for a week now -- very light and snappy. Design is great. I used to Surface screens and styluses, so first thing I noticed is that you should actually noticeably press on a stylus to make OS register interaction, whereas on a Surface (or even on a cheap Chuwi) you can draw without any force applied to stylus at all. I do not have a second unit to check -- if somebody can confirm that it is the case for every X360, I will be very thankful! And second thing -- right now on Chrome and Edge sometimes (very rarely) I'm getting green artifacts on youtube videos. This does not happen on Firefox or when watching videos from HDD. Overall -- great product!)
Question: if i spec it with the 4k and then change the settings to 1080p most of the time, will my battery life still suffer or will it be slightly better?
Surface Book 2 15" is orders of magnitude more powerful. The CPU and GPU put the SB2 in a different class. Plus, I'm a huge fan of 3:2 for the display.
I just bought the HP Spectre x360 4K, 512, 16GB with a pen. It's between that, the Macbook Pro 13, or the Dell XPS 13. If anyone has experience and can give me the pro/con of the laptops, please let me know. I got a price match on the HP for about $1300/taxes included.
HP: Cons: 1) Touchpad uses Synaptics drivers. 2) There might be noticeable fan noise 3) Might run hot. Dell: Cons: 1) Facecam looks up your nose. 2) Thin bezels may be inconvenient to hold in tablet mode. 3) Build may not be as nice MacBook Pro: Cons: 1) Pricier. 2) Minimal key travel. 3) 720p Facecam. Things to note: Runs Mac os.
Thanks for the review. This or the surface pro 2017 i5? Want for usual office work and I take notes alot using a digital stylus. Please help @windows central.
Sjay! If you're just going to take notes and not do any artwork then the Spectre is a better bang for your buck. Otherwise there's no competition to the surface.
Kartikey Singh thanks for your reply. I went for the surface pro as in India both similarly priced and surface Def will have better reliability compared to hp as hp India is not great in after sales as what I learnt from many sources.
I bought the surface laptop because of the 3:2 screen aspect ratio. I can never go back to a 13 inch 16:9. Laptop tops are ment for work, not watching movies all day.
thats actually the reason im not getting a surface product. If you write documents all day then 3:2 is better but if your laptop is for a bunch of stuff like gaming netflix, youtube, productivity then 16:9 is better
Definitely. If they go 3:2 aspect ratio they have a pretty much perfect device.

Liion B I want to buy this but doesn't the keyboard not being centered bother you?
It doesn't bother me at all and I like having the extra row of keys at the left because I use them a lot.
Hi, How about the Trackpad and fan noise. Does it run hot ?

Watching this from my dark ash HP Spectre x360-13.3" 8th gen Intel (AE077TU).. :D Love this laptop so much!
Bagus Prasada I have that one too) Can you tell me - when using stylus, should you apply some force to it before Windows register the press? Or you can barely touch screen with a stylus and draw a line for example? I want to know, is my unit defective or not.
Dash ash is 100% the way to go.

Same, I use mine daily for work!
"Minor improvements " 2 extra cores🤔
i have early 2017 version and its amazing laptop.

I'm getting an older model off eBay and I can't wait to create with it.

You can easily find quad A batteries at your local pharmacy store like Walgreens or CVS

Вадим Громов What stylus are you using?
Tk Muns The one that was included in the box.
Try a ms pen or bamboo pen or dell pen it may respond differently saw pen comparisons google it!
Good presentation
Hi great review I just wonder if you can use it for music and audiobooks in sleepmode
Is the fan loud? And does it overheat?
Am I the only one who doesn't even has a plan to buy a new laptop but watching this video
I have the early 2017 version. No plans to upgrade but its great to see hp still improving on the spectre 360 family.
Hey would a surface pen work with this? One of the newer surface pens
does this late 2017 hp spectre x360 have issue in battery drain while shutting off?
I hope on the 2018 version they CENTER the keyboard. What a downer on the 17
You can really get used to it. I was concerned too at first glance, but now, I don't see any problem with the layout.

OP what is the nit difference between the 1080 vs 4k display?
Are you planning to compare this with new 15" AMD G model?
don't think anyone realizes this but you can always change your touch pad drivers....
9:05 it seems as if u r having an earthquake lol.
111°F = 43°C not bad
Could anybody provide me with that wallpaper? :)
"Hp spectre x360 with (i5 - 8250u)" or "dell xps 9350 with (i7 - 6560u)" which one is better?
Hey Daniel burrino, hace un análisis en español
So are you switching from the Surface Book to the HP?

tpm chip?
whens the 15 inch with vega coming out
Mid to late March if I'm not mistaken
why late 2017 tho?
HP released this in late November. They like refreshing their laptops based on new CPUs.
That pc is almost 2200$ in Denmark....
I like Lenovo Yoga 730 because it has Nvidia Graphic Card inside.
I wish it had Wacom EMR but sadly only Samsung is using it on their laptops and they don't sell them in europe.

Yup, once you use 3:2 it really is hard to accept 16:9.
