Thanks for these videos Chris. You've been my inspiration and mentor for pouring baits. I just started a month ago and I'm having a blast with open pours. I love the ideas you give us. My baits are looking production status with your help!

Those are some amazing looking baits! Thanks for the videos. It’s interesting hearing your thoughts on choosing and mixing colors, and the processes behind making the various baits. Keep up the great videos! (Also, as much as I enjoy the bait making videos, I’d love to see more videos of you fishing with the baits you’ve made!) Cheers! 🍻
I’m not super into telling people how to live their life but I’m going to state my opinion. I don’t mind keeping and mounting big bass if they die in the live well, the only problem I have is when people take these 8+ pounders off beds and keep them during spawning season because It just destroys the ecosystem if everyone does it. Super tank mounts man 🤙💪🏼. Also do you need injectors if you buy the mold, just for a melt down of old store bought stuff. Or if you could do like a starter or budget way to get into melting and remolding you’re own plastics. Love the vids man stay safe :)
Chris, this Paul we met at the ramp the other week I just seen your rod build video I use to build custom rods, so if you want some pointers on rod building give me a call. The name of my rod company was Love Rods. Look forward to chatting with you.
You leave your griddle on during the whole pouring process, then turn it off when your done pouring? Bet the four inch models will be harder to pour because your working with a smaller space. This color combo was pure genious! Great video!!
Did u do a clear skin pour over the mold before u started pouring that black stripes?? Edit: no sooner than I asked that u said u do a skin pour over the black lines lol You think this could be done with an injection ripper mold??
When hand pouring the black stripes, could you use some sort of masking material to make the stripes even? I don't know what that mask material would be. One thing I'd like to learn is how to make soft plastic lures with an internal wire hook harness and weights. Chris, do you have any idea how that is done?
@11:49 Your example lure has an internal wire harness that forms the lure line attachment eye and continues inside the lure to form the external hook hangers. The harness would be something similar to this, as an example. www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fae01.alicdn.com%2Fkf%2FH6b0a39a8c6b34265a0e6b6ede764688aI%2FLunker-stinger-hooks-rig-shallow-water-weightless-pike-muskie-soft-bait-shad-lure-stainless-steel-wire.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aliexpress.com%2Fi%2F4000493979037.html&tbnid=5Ix_jlVL5I4rxM&vet=12ahUKEwiixeifwffoAhVIDq0KHRcdD3UQMygKegUIARCKAg..i&docid=fY7D_dieQCEnzM&w=800&h=800&q=wire%20muskie%20hook%20harness&ved=2ahUKEwiixeifwffoAhVIDq0KHRcdD3UQMygKegUIARCKAg Then the plastic is molded around that wire harness. This is what I'd like to learn to do. I understand you like the uneven look to the black stripes, but can some sort of masking material be used? I'm asking for general knowledge reasons, in order to learn. You've got some nice big bass mounts.
I've had the idea to try "skin pouring" from an injection mold, but I'm having difficulties with it. Prior to the injection, I would drizzle the skin color onto the sides of my paddle tail swimbait, wait for the plastisol to set up, then inject the solid color to fill the body and the tail. However, when I'd open up the mold, I would find that the "skin" had detached from the side of the mold and ruin what I was going for. Am I injecting the plastisol too fast? Am I over heating plastisol? Is the mold too cold? What is causing my skin to basically float in the hot plastisol?
You need to mix up a big batch of those perch swimbaits and bring 'em up here to Lake St Clair and catch you a smallmouth to mount on your wall! PS if you catch a gar out of my boat you owe ice cream!
