Thanks, I wanted to help people understand specific and isolated muscle soreness. After seeing or feeling their horse isn't moving properly, I thought it would be helpful to arm people with a simple way of assessing through palpation. Not only would they then know what they may be dealing with but they would also know if the treatment they received was successful.
I will be filming more this year and will include how to diagnose weather saddle sorriness is the saddle or muscular. Glad you like them and find them helpful! C.
Does anyone know the general price for a horse chiropractor? My horses withers are very sore and we wanted to get a chiropractor out but I don't know the estimated cost????
it means either the thoracic trapezius is sore or you have a saddle problem. if you run your finger accros the border of the trapezius and get a sharp short reaction it's the muscle and you can treat it either by a therapist massage it or use a hand held unit of some sort. if the pain is more like an area rather than a point, it's your saddle. C
Hi revolvergal, these soreness' although common, aren't normal. Meaning that a sore horse isn't the norm, If the horses tissue is in integrity, the work should strengthen that. Having said that, if your horse over exerts it's self, soreness can happen. keeping soft hands in any work will benefit the neck and withers always.

depends where you are and the quality of the person.
Hi my horse is sore only on the rear of his withers- what does this indicate and what can I do to help?

So what are the causes of this soar-ness? why is a 5year old so soar>?
could be work, environment.. or general horsey silliness.

@@langederequine i'm leaning to "Silliness" as my young horse be doing some crazy stuff when he gets out in pasture!
I love this, but unless she's ridden softly and classically, how will this not happen again?
