- As a celebration for all of you wonderful 8000 subcribers, comes here a little video when me and Svea were on a little walk in the forest. I wore my brown 14th century Herjolfsnes gown, Svea wore... her fluff as usual.
Thank you! ♡

An intelligent woman in the woods with her cat? WITCHCRAFT
PS I really love your videos I started historical sewing because of your kirtle video
Hahahah I can stand for that! And It really warms my heart to hear you found my videos inspirational. Thank you❤
I deeply love that you portray not only glorious courtly gowns but also more humble peasant-type clothing. Dressing for the everyday life of the peasant, performing all kinds of hard or messy daily labor, is fascinating to me, because it had to look decent while very active not just while sitting pristine and still for a portrait. Also it had to live up to the rigours of daily wear and regular washing for YEARS as one of only a scant few items in a person's wardrobe. So it really had to earn its keep, and be durable and comfortable!
I am interested to know how much decoration may be practical for one who sews their own clothing for such daily work. Hems and cuffs would surely wear out first, so would embroidery make sense? What about a contrasting facing, perhaps flipped to the front to show as a decorative band? What about simply replacing a few inches of fabric along the hem or cuffs as needed rather than replacing a whole garment?
Please continue what you are doing! Your work is very interesting to me!
@Griffith Williams I often think that if I were born hundreds of years ago, I'd definitely have been a peasant (statistically), so I'm always curious how the lives of my peasant-class ancestors may have been!
I watched this on my phone and my cat heard you calling to your cat. He rushed over and headbutted my phone! Congrats on 8k!
haha, this made me laugh😂
I got one notification from Bernadette Banner and one from you this morning and watched them both before I even got out of bed 😂 seriously though, I’m so glad I found this channel and 8k is amazing!! 💞
It really is, and I'm so grateful for it❤
omg me too i was so happy
Congratulations! I love your videos so much! Do you think you could do a video on how you put on a medieval veil?
Oh yes i'd love that!
I would love to! However, there are certain circumstanses wich makes the whole thing a bit more complicated. It may, in other words, take a little while, but I am so excited for that idea!
😍😍😍 the most medieval cat on internet in the arms of the cutest 14th century reenactress 😍😍😍
Thank you so much for using such historically accurate music for your videos!
I watched this video and recognized the Machaut melody right away
I love her music choices, too! Every couple of videos I go "Ooo! That's 'Miri It Is'! I know that one!"

loved how you used the trees as to frame the video. Love this! so simple yet so pleasing and refreshing to see. Nice work.
For the longest time I wanted to go to a medieval fair. This year I was dead set on it until the corona restrictions hit. But the spring went and so did corona here. One big medieval fair begins this week. I am finally going. Me and my partner made outfits following your instructions and naturally dyed one. Thank you, thank you so much.
Lovely and peaceful!
The veil/headcover IS SO GOOD! I love that style so much and it's super beautiful.

Guillaume de Machaut for minister of music. :)
Congratulations on 8000 Love the cat
Nice video and cute cat!
this is art. that description tho 😂
Congrats on 8000! Just a question, because I am planning on making myself a shift in the near future: Do you make your shifts more loose-fitting than your kirtles? And to you use a "rectangles and triangles" pattern (only straight seams)?
Edit: Near future is perhaps...too much pressure. Let's say before the year is out :P
Since linen is a non-stretch fabric, you need to make it bigger to make it comfortable, how much is hard to say, I often make mine too small or too big😂 One can always comfort oneself with the fact that they never shows😉
Yes! Basically the same pattern as the kirtle, I just replace the sleeves with straigh ones, make it shorter and removing the front and back gores
@@elinabrahamsson9442 Thank you :D Why do you remove the front and back gores?
What a beautiful kitty! Lovely and atmospheric. What was in the picnic sack?
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww your cat is my new favorite youtuber, (oh and you)
Svea is beautiful! Does he/she like going for walks with you?
35 seconds and I want to be in this video!
My brain says more please!
Awe cute kit cat my lady.
Where is this located? That forest looks beautiful 😭
Is she an outdoor cat? She is so calm outside.
She has a cat flap so she's going just as she pleases, but she doesn't really want to be out alone so I'm often going with her😂
@@elinabrahamsson9442 aww, that's so adorable!
Wonderful video! And is that a Swedish forest cat!?
It is!😁
Nawwww, söt liten fluffboll
Mother of God, that's a cat? It's bigger than the girl!
Probably a skoggkat/Norwegian Forest Cat. They're a very popular breed in Scandinavia and weigh about as much as a small dog. And the fluff makes them look even bigger.
