I just learned recently that Caitlin Clark is the fastest rookie in WNBA history to 200+ points (242), 75+ assists (93) and 75+ rebounds (76). Angel Reese, meanwhile has scored under 200 points (157), well below 75 assists (just 27), and the one stat that beats Clark is assists at 133. Clark even has a better free throw rate: 90.6% vs Reese’s 75.7%. So, no, those of us who never watched the WNBA before this season are watching it to follow a middle lane player (Reese). We are watching the league for Caitlin who is a far superior player and even in the pros, is proving to break records. What’s crazier, is that Clark is breaking records in the WNBA (as she did in college) and yet she is not as good as the current veterans and obviously has a lot to learn still. Just think of how great she will be when she does hit her prime.

Pretty much this. My niece is in college softball, and I go watch her every home game they have, so I'm not opposed to going to a wnba game every once in a while just so see how it is. But when they call me a "-ist" and "-ic" and "-ism" because I wasn't already giving their league money and attention, it completely turns me away and I lose all interest. Pretty much this. My niece is in college softball, and I go watch her every home game they have, so I'm not opposed to going to a wnba game every once in a while just so see how it is. But when they call me a "-ist" and "-ic" and "-ism" because I wasn't already giving their league money and attention, it completely turns me away and I lose all interest. Wow. When I first noticed the publicity these two began to draw I was somewhat annoyed by both. Felt CC’s talent was over rated and Reece was a bit of a self grandiose B.
But the depth and contrast of both players character and skill revealed as their rookie seasons have evolved, almost diametrically opposed has wowed me. Seeing Reece applaud the cheap shot Carter put on CC changed my view of her as a slightly flawed human to a self absorbed human turd. Disrespecting another human is one thing, but disrespecting the game of basketball is where she has completely lost any respect I have for her game and her character. Accusing the refs of making a bad call against her, with tears and anger in her eyes. Figuratively, she’s marred in her own crap, sitting in it, wallowing in it while she’s at that post game interview. In a way it’s kinda pitiful, how she deals with her frustrations.
