  • We brought Frank and Amigo to a local go as you please. Frank did a few XC events years ago, Amigo has never really seen XC before.
I am franks rider, I didn’t have a great time. My first fall, he found a great stride on his own and took me to the jump and actually took off before stopping half way.
He bucked me off for my second fall. He kept bucking after the jumps I think because I kept catching him in the mouth. I really was trying my best not to.

That first pink jump is crazy. I had no idea it was a step up to a bank. What a surprise! That little black horse is amazing.

do you think your riding protection vest saved you from worse pain/injury after the falls- even in the slightest? I'm debating on whether to get one or not.

@@lamp091 As someone who rides and competes horses for a living I would recommend you buy a body protector and a quality one at that that offers protection about the neck area too. Don't buy online it's best to go to a specialist store where they'll fit it to your body type, also specify which discipline you are using it for, if you are eventing you will know the fences don't always knock down, like they do in Showjumping. There are many different designs by many different companies, you'll definitely find something to suit your needs

Hi! I very rarely wear one as I don’t feel as balanced in them. However cross country they are mandatory! Thankfully this time both my falls were quite light

Well done to you , your horse settled as the schooling session went on and he never stopped at a fence, All the best for the future I think with some more training you'd both do well. No diss have you checked his saddle fits correctly 👍

@@Phillip-p1e hello! Yes my saddle is actually quite new and he likes it. I think because I fell off once o was riding a bit defensively, and he was jumping very exuberantly. This combo led to me catching him in the mouth a couple of times which I think led to the bucking & then it was a vicious circle from there. Thank you so much ❣️
