- Making some final repairs and then testing out the backyard pick Gas Gas EC300 dirt bike! In the previous video we got this project running, and I am excited to see how it rides. It is a 300cc 2 stroke so it ought to be quick!

Hard to believe I’ve been watching since I was 14… I’m 20 now and still love the content keep it up guys
Im also 20 and been watching for a long time
That’s only 6 years but you’re young so it probably feels like forever!😀
I do think a power valve check/clean video would be pretty awesome though.
I strongly agree with you
yes! I would love to see more on this bike.
I've used gear oil for the chain for years. It's even recommended by D.I.D and RK.
That's what I do as well. I was going to comment that D.I.D. recommend that for my 520 chain.
It's all I've ever used. Every single bike I've owned has had gear oil on the chain. Never had a single chain problem in 35+ years.
different applications require different lube. for example you want a very sticky chain lube for road applications and for offroad you want a creamy non sticky lube that will release dirt and mud but also wont just wash off in rain or water. I have no doubt gear oil works but I also have no doubt there is products that are far superior. a can of motul lube is also only like 15$ cad and lasts for many many years.
Agreed, Fortnine did a video on chain lube, gear oil was the best and cheapest!
It seems like the kickstand screw fix is probably how it was designed! Good call! That is why the side plastic was gouged.
Thank you Jake and Jen for making my thanksgiving even better with a new video! Happy holidays and greetings from AZ
Glad you enjoy the videos, and happy Thanksgiving!
$1,500 to 2,000, all day long. Congratulations.🏁
Great to have you back putting out content!
Why did they quit or slow down?
I believe they had a lot of stuff going on in their lifes and didn't have time for the videos@@sendit1158
@@sendit1158 I think I heard in one video that they got burned out, and needed a break. I was kind of bummed, be cause I had watched a couple videos, I think the first one was a pressure washer from lowes or HD. I subbed, then poof nothing new. I thought I broke the interwebs.
Love you guys I’ve been watching for 8 years I think idk as long as I can remember I’m 15 right now and your the reason that I fix these things up
When you sell (Hard Times) get enough so we can watch you repair another one. I really enjoy your videos. Camera girl is always great too.
Glad you like the videos!
“Hope the new part fits”. Literally took the words out of my brain.
I love that you stepped up for the upgraded kick starter. It’s those little things that really improve a bike.
I’d say powervalve indeed:). Sometimes the mechanism is a little sticky. Easy fix by cleaning it
Lovely to see you guys ❤
It’s thanksgiving and I’m thankful you put this video out today. I’ve been waiting
Hey mate been watching for a lot of years and just wanna let you know your videos are a great way too get away from my stress and anxiety your a great entertainer ❤
Love seeing another machine saved! Great work.
Thank you!
Ive been waiting for this episode to drop. I love the old GASGAS bikes. Had a 2002 125 back in the day. Too bad they are just a KTM now. Nothing wrong with KTM, just these guys made a great bike.
I don't know why KTM has 3 brands making basically the same bikes. I suppose they have a plan though. Hope you enjoyed the video!
@@jenniesgarage Keeping the legacy going?
Happy thanksgiving guys I remember my dad showing me your channel years ago and I’m glad your still around 👍
Thanks, glad you are still around too!
I’ve always used retella diesel oil in my bikes and it works wonderful! Never had any issues
I don't know much about dirtbikes, but man, so cool what companies like this were at the time, everything is so proudly branded, and honestly looks super well made for what it is.
I see they were bought by KTM a couple years back, awesome you can still get some parts.
Happy Thanksgiving To You Guys. Love Watching Your Videos Because i Always learn Something New And get Entertained At The Same time.
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family!
Great timing on the upload, started re-watching the Seadoo series because I was itching for some JG!
Welcome back - my favourite uTube channel. Thanks you for posting.
Love to support you and your family!
Lotsa love to you guys! You always have fun and I enjoy cheering for your personal triumphs. On that note, how about taking hard times through to the end, you're almost there! It could just be running rich for your climate. It looked to be smoking a little too much at idle also. Check the jetting chart or pull the air filter out for one lap around town to see if it leans up. It would make great content and we don't want to say that Jake runs whenever he faces hard times. God bless y'all with the merriest Christmas! I love you guys! If it makes you feel any better I just ran my snowmobile for an hour today in town to purge my oil line after the oil injection started working again. It smoked like crazy til it cleared the lines out and started sucking the new oil I put in. I got it for $200 after sitting for many years. We're motor heads, this is what we do, you got this Bro! Love ya All, your family is just like mine 😊
Some very sensible points there. She sure was smoking some....personally I distrust the oil injection systems a little, more than happy to run premix. Currently using 40:1 fully synth on everything.
Woohoo! A JG Video. Truly to give thanks for!
More!! More!! Loving this bike!!
I got a 2018 KTM300tpi 2-stroke and I can say that 300cc 2-strokes are a blast to ride 😊
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for posting! It's always fun
Thank you!
Man i hav a aprilia pegaso 125 2t and my engine blew up, wanted to sell it as is but i watched your videos and you gave me motivation so thank u and keep it up man
18:12 - 18:30 That was beautiful man! "We are alike, you and I" We would be good friends, I can tell. My birthday today too (60). Thanks for the grin.
Doug in Michigan
Y’all are my faves! Glad you live your lives and don’t sell out for the big RUclips money, very wholesome.
Thanks! Glad you like the videos!
That was a good one! That track looks like a blast! Good riding! 👍😉
Thanks! I am rusty, but it was a fun time!
Ahhhh, a Jennies Garage, what a start to the holiday season!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving you two. Always enjoy your posts and vicariously enjoying your weather, being from an extremely wet, windy and cold Manchester, UK.
Thank you! Hope the weather clears up soon.
Awesome to see it running
Yeah another great video from you guys ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video as always love watching your videos. Happy holidays to you all love the gas gas
Thanks, and happy holidays to you!
11.48 I honestly thought you had the brand new Gopro Nose Clamp mount. Man! I was so wrong. Great video! I'm huge fan!
YES ANOTHER DIRTBIKE POST, I missed these
Sweet, c’mon Hard Times, you can do it!
Once again welcome back..
Great to see another video!
Always gets a smile or chuckle from me! In Australia you'd get several grand for hard times - would've thought it's worth more than several hundred after you've finished with it!
Glad you like the videos, and thanks for your insight on the price!
Just discovered this channel. I cant stop watching all these videos. i dont even own a bike at the moment any more.
Glad you like the videos!
I wish you all the best, a whole lot of happiness and health.
Gear oil is fairly widely recommended in manuals. The bike is definitely supposed to have grunt down low, its made for the woods and enduro stuff. Should still feel like a 2 stroke though, basically just a little bigger KDX. If you have a title or if it is easy to get one I would say 1800 is fair.
It for sure has grunt, but never felt like it wanted to rev out. My KDX in comparison isn't a screaming beast, but does have some nice midrange power.
@@jenniesgarage I am on your same thought process that something may be amiss. This is an interesting bike, so I think we would all love more vids on it. Cheers!
i got my gasgas ec 300 2011 for 2400 dollars but it as here in sweden. i guess the market is about the same in us. i think its wouth about 1200-1600, but thats based on the market here! :D THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!
I agree. $1200-1500 here in the U.S.
Glad you liked the video, and thanks for the price information!
It is a woods bike. They do tend to have more low rpm power and not rev very high, and the extra 50cc (over a 250), helps too. Now I see why they made it a 6 speed.
It is running about as rich as a stock 2-stroke with a carb does. With those low rpm's, I would not be surprised if your ring gaps are still in spec. Hopefully, the plating is still good, and only spend as much as $150.00 for a new piston/rings, and rub it in to the 4-stroke guys. I had a cylinder plated (1997 KX250), in 1999 at US Chrome, and that was only $150.00 back then. That is still a nice bike IMO. You do good work, and both of you make a rational and entertaining vid. Very enjoyable. :)
Fun video, thank you! I didn't realize you were up this far, I thought you lived in Southern California. That park is just about an hour from my house.
Thanks for the videos! I always have a laugh with them. I like the gas gas!
Glad you like the video, and Hard Times!
Turkey day special!!!! thank you happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
Feels like x-mas with the new video......miigwech (thank you)
YESSS NEW VIDEO!
Dude.....Great idea with the Heat Gun.....Well done.
Thanks!
I did the same thing getting my new carb on that intake boot! You have to heat it up to do anything with it!
Hairs looking good mate, don't stress
Thanks! I'm ok with it. Just part of life!
🥳 thanks guys!!!! made my day!!! 🥳
Woo, that twist transition
A claw hammer for mechanic work...just like Matt @MattsOffRoadRecovery. Nice.
Ive been missing your videos my friends!!
Glad you like the videos!
Good video and good riding
Thank you!
The rubber on the air box boot on the Gas Gas was sometimes rock hard from factory when ordered new. I know your pain.
Even though this channel peaked with 'Jacob's Driving Song' I still love it, keep up the great work guys!
You have been here a while.
Came for the motorcycles, stayed for the Shasta!
I went ahead and liked this video. I’ll be back to watch later.
I see Jake is growing out his Winter hair to keep his head warm while out in the work space. Hope y'all had a good Turkey Day!
sur your videos are a breath of cold air
I love my 2001 GasGas ec 300! Mine is identical to the one in the background only a 300!
That second to last jump at prairie city is always my favorite
You guys are my kind of funny! The dry corny jokes keep me laughing. Love the videos I am sure it was a task to edit this video together With different camera views. Didn’t go unnoticed 👍🏻
06:30 'I don't know if the hole is meant to be used that way, but that's how I'm gonna use it'. Good motto
3:30 Just don’t kiss the wrong end.
I don't ride motorcycles but just enjoy the ments on this channel.
Happy Thanksgiving, to both of you!! Its been a long ride, glad to see yall are still making videos when you can. Im not sure of the exact value of those bikes, but i do know they are fairly rare in the states. I would make sure i investigate further, I personally think its worth more! Gas Gas quads go for big money bc they only imported 200 or so into the states. Not sure exactly when it comes to the bikes. Keep it up my friends!!!
Thanks for the comment. I think it being rare could work for it or against it. To the right person it could be desireable, but others will stay away because it is obscure. Glad you enjoy the videos!
Notice the “Smockover” logo on the front fender. Bike has some history. The older GG bikes are very cool. I have a 1998 and 1997 GG EC 250
Great video. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks! Glad you liked the video!
GOBBLE GOBBLED 😮❤
And also I'm not thinking like oh I'll fix and flip it. Me and my gf have watched the channel for quite a long time, we've watched nearly all your videos, if not...all. your gf has helped my gf get excited about learning clutch, riding the bikes I like to ride. I bought her a 70cc semi auto bike to start. She now has a yamaha blaster atv to learn clutch. So I mean b.c. of that aspect i would actually like to keep it and sell off my crf450r dirtbike I did a full build on. It has good bones and I really know 2 strokes so I get Ole hard times running great again, and be a permanent staple in my collection. CONSIDER SELLING TO US!!!! LOL
great vid
I have no experience with this particular motorcycle, however do own a few two strokes. The impression I get is that the oil to fuel ratio is a little off. Also I got the impression that it needs to be revved out more through the gears to clear its throat so to speak. Well done, thanks and please keep it up!
I mixed it at 40:1. I rode it a lot on the day we filmed, and it just didn't want to run clean at high rpms. Thanks for the comment!
Hard Times just got more of my respect. 300ccs of 2-Stroke Lovin’ has me intrigued. thanks, Jen & Jake, for making my wallet quiver…I’ve already found 2 in my area. I heart y’all. don’t get none on ya
Hasta lasagna!
Thank's for the video!
id say worth 1000 easy you definetly put some time into it. its has a decent motor and a nice 6 spd trans. love the videos, keep it up!
Thank you!
Cant wait to see this thing ripping.
Gas Gas go fast fast
You can probably get $2500 easy. Another great video, love you guys!
Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for your thoughts on the price!
Hi guy's, gas gas is very well known in trial bike and moto x world, very reliable too, your bike is worth easy $2000 maybe more, a few say $1500 but that is a fair bit on the cheap side imo, Happy thanks giving guys, and nice bike by the way, 🍻❤
Thanks for the comment, and happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for the video and keep them coming if you’re able. I was just at prairie city a couple weeks ago with my sons.
I’m not in the market for a 300cc 2 stroke unfortunately; but a custom built yellow trail 90 with an atc125 motor, I’d buy that.
I'm thinking of maybe letting that one go too. If you want, send me a dm on instagram and we can talk.
Good to see you guys 😃👍 i think if it was sucking air through the inlet rubber , I bet they increased the main jet size to compensate? With some carb adjustments it should be Good 👍 and maybe with some new plastics $1500 ?
Not a main jet, never even hit 3/4 throttle where it would start using it.
@@Aspired329 ? What?? usually people tinker with stuff and they don’t really know what to do and someone will tell them it’s running lean because it’s getting too much air and not enough fuel? So they stick a bigger main jet in it , because no one ever changes the idle jet, then the next thing they start messing with is the needle hight , and then start adjusting air screw then the idle adjuster …. Then it’s all down hill from that point and it starts getting neglected and then they sell it .
Thanks for the theory, it's a good one. The jetting is on the leaner side though, based on what people usually run in these bikes and at my altitude. So I'm not sure what's going on.
@@jenniesgarage I would find out what the standard setting should be , needle position, jet sizes, air screw position should be? and then compare them to what is currently in the carb and air screw settings and go from there?
Chain care: Personally, for a standard chain (not a O-ring chain), I like the blast the heck out of the chain with a pressure washer until it is clean, (and full or water).
Then I use WD-40 (Stands for "Water Displacement- 40th formula", to get all the water out of the chain. Wipe it as dry as you can, then add the chain lube, (I like the Maxima chain wax). That rear sprocket still looks really good. If that chain was rusty, it will probably stretch real fast. IMO, it would be best to put on a new chain now.
Always noce to see a new video of you guys came out!
The power delivery is nornal for these bikes, as they are intended to perform at trials/enduro riding amd not on a Motocross track.
I'd say you can get $1100-1500 when the right person to come.
Thanks for your thoughts on the price! I think you are right that the engine isn't a screamer even when tuned, but do believe it is getting too much fuel.
love your vids
Thanks!
That bike was a junk heap when you first got it - she may be running rich now, but at least she's running, new kickstand and all! Great work mate!
Thank you!
good stuff
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
Diesel oil in a 2T transmission is just fine.
Hard Times kicks over too easy for a 300. It definitely needs a top end.
Also, I agree that it's running rich.
I thought it seemed pretty easy to kick too. But that is also dependent on the gear reduction of the kickstarter gear. A compression test would tell a lot. Thanks for the comment.
Been watching you for 8 plus years now hahah
Time goes by so fast!!
This video flew by for me! That is some bike so I think 1500. I love your content guys. Thank you. P.s I got my dog 🐶
I was also thinking they could get 15
Glad you liked the video! And thank you for the price suggestion.
@@jenniesgarageno no thank you guys.
Hey Jake... I don't know wats all in your life but the enemy of the cross tries to discourage us from doing the Will of God. You clearly have a gift and you should keep going forward... the same goes for me. May the Lord guide you and your families path.
Thank you for the kind words.
With your fuel mixture ratio i'd recommend going to 1 to 40 or 1 to 50 if your aren't already, Great video enjoy riding the big 300!
I was at 40:1. Glad you liked the video!
@@jenniesgarage you can get away with 50:1 on that engine if you use a good synthetic oil.
You can get a little bit better high-RPM performance by dialing in the jetting. It will seem a little bit "lean" compared to the jet sizes in a 250 motocross bike, but it definitely sounds like it's a little rich on the needle and main. I want to say that a 168-170 main would be a good starting point. But definitely pull apart the carb and see what you have.
And another great video!
$1,600 seems about right, but the fact that its coming through you gives it more value!
Thanks for your thoughts!
Great Thanks For Sharing !
You guys are local! I go out to prairie city all the time! As well as mammoth bar, Foresthill etc..
