yes. PG was asking too much $$$ for him to stay. he's way too injury prone and not that reliable as someone who can carry a team. he's at the tail end of his career. good decision by the clippers not re-signing him.
@@besmorpheous The Clippers are the B team in LA, what do you mean? Did you see all the empty seats when they played the 76er's? I mean what? The Clippers had lost 4 games in a row at home before running into a new configured injured 76er's team. It could have easily been 5. Lets not kid ourselves, the Clippers are an organization and a team that's going absolutely no where anytime soon. It would be a waste of my "breath" to state the obvious reasons....
PG was trashing Clippers when he left and even brought his dad on his podcast to trash the organization. Anyone who questions why he got booed hasn't been keeping track on what actually happened. It got to the point that ESPN actually called him out for his slander. PG is overrated af! And Sixers fans will really notice when it comes to the playoffs. Enjoy that ridiculous contract you gave him.
I've noticed PG has a tendency to start things and then act like he didn't when he gets called out. A good example would be the conversation he had with Klay Thompson about the interaction he had with Devin Booker on the court. PG thought Klay would slander Booker and got the complete opposite. When Booker called him out on it, he tried to act like he didn't have bad intentions when he asked Klay the question about Booker

@gabrielklushkan2438 I don't hate him,it's fans who hype players who don't deserve it,that's what I don't like Fans thinking he's a superstar is the reason he's getting paid 50/mil a year
He's not a below average defender. That's going a little far. He's not what he was in his prime, especially on ball, but he's still a top 10-15 wing defender and one of the best off ball wings in the NBA. He's best suited as a #3 option at this point but he's still a damn good #3 option. But he is a $30-35m player who misses 1/3 of the season for the last 5 years so $19m isn't far off
Clippers don't need PG. James Harden has been carrying the team no problem. And Kawhi needs to go, the guy never plays, it's ridiculous how much he gets paid to not play.
I think the Clippers made the right choice not to re-sign PG. He is very good, but not great. He is also long in the tooth. They did themselves favors by signing Dunn, Porter Jr. Jones, Jr. And my goodness, you gotta love Stormin Norman Powell.

The NBA and teams are reaping what they have sown, buy overhyping and overrating all these players. George had a half of a moment in Indy and they started talking about him like a LEGIT superstar. The last dozen years or so have been about MEDIA narratives of how good players are…not how good they REALLY were. PG has never been a legit superstar. His game is nothing special. We need to get back to when superstars really shined and showed up. He has not, but his ego is falsely enhanced because media narratives and sheep-like fans glaze him. He is highly-overrated.
How do you expect hundreds of professional athletes to stay healthy all year. This isn’t football there’s not thousands of players in the league every 5 years
What is Sam Amick doing, working for the Clippers PR arm? If they suspected they were going to get pennies on the dollar for Paul George this off-season, why not deal him at the trade deadline last year? Or last off-season. Trying EVERYTHING to try and make fans forget they traded away the franchise future PLUS an MVP candidate and essentially got nothing in return. When it's all said and done, it could turn into the most lopsided trade in history. Oh, they had to do it to secure Kawhi? You mean the superstar who was BRITTLE back then and is even worse now? C'mon. The Intuit Dome, with it's $75 dollar parking garage fee, isn't going to save the Clippers. I've been there -- it's nice, but it's not THAT nice. Gimme a break. They're in for some rough times ahead.
They'll be fine. The whole reason they wouldn't do the extra year is to clean the books and go sign a superstar. They just didn't want to be a 15 win team in the first year of the arena. Yes, they had to do that trade -- Boston just won 64 games and a title with a much much worse version of 2019 Kawhi and PG; it was a damn good bet --- but the Clippers are the Clippers. The entire franchise is cursed. There's a good chance that if not for a _once-per-century global pandemic_ they win the title in 2020.

25 points, 53/49/86 shooting and solid defense.
