Ok so I know when you fold your signatures its supposed to be two different pages on one page but I followed one of your tutorials and all my pages are on one 8 11 regular paper. How do I make it go the other way
Every typeset will be different, so after sorting this one it became 7 pages per signature meaning it was pages 1 and 20 sharing a page ect but for other ones it could be 8 or 9 pages per signature meaning the gap will be bigger. You sort you pages through a software or program where you upload the typeset and set how many pages per signature you want. A good free one is bookbinder JS: momijizukamori.github.io/bookbinder-js/?printFile=both&sourceRotation=none&rotatePage=false&paperSize=A4&paperSizeUnit=pt&printerType=duplex&paperRotation90=false&pageLayout=folio&cropMarks=false&cutMarks=false&pdfEdgeMarks=false&pageScaling=lockratio&pagePositioning=centered&mainForeEdgePaddingPt=0&bindingEdgePaddingPt=0&topEdgePaddingPt=0&bottomEdgePaddingPt=0&sigFormat=standardsig&sigLength=4&customSigLength=0&foreEdgePaddingPt=0&wackySpacing=wacky_pack&flyleafs=1
@@beautifullybound This was so helpful thank youuu! I was trying to make the signatures myself and the layout but I didn't realize the software did it all for you 🤩
Aw no worries! I have really awful dyslexia so for me it helps to read left to right and have it justified that way but thats why I always emphasise that hobbyist bookbinding always comes down to personal preference ❤ I used to have all my books centred but it is easier for my eyes this way so I made the switch.
@@beautifullybound that’s a good reminder: We have to make these things for OURSELVES, and not for custom or any “that’s how it’s done” talk. The important thing is that you MADE it and made it the way you needed and wanted it. Good lesson for me. ;)
Thank you for your videos 🙌
They make me think I can do this and gift my friend her favourite fanfic binded ❤️
I'm making my first typeset and this has been super helpful.

I am sorry. I tuned out as soon as I realized the text was left unjustified. Right away it stops looking like a book and looks like a school report. 😢
