There's only one country that comes close to being as beautiful and scenically dramatic as my native United States, and that, friends, is Scotland. You Scots are truly blessed to live where you do. My respect and deep admiration.
Dank? Moody? I've been under a blazing sun with triple digit heat for more than a month. You have nice, lush, green country side and COOL weather. I call that amazing!
@@shaunvlog - Hope while you're in Kirkwall you can visit the Highland Park Whisky Distillery. I'm a huge fan of their 12 year old Viking Honour single malt scotch whisky. Actually decided to pull my bottle out for a shot and toast you on your journey.
My friends just had their honeymoon trip all over Scotland and I just now realized they went to that island because they took pictures of the Italian church. It's all very beautiful. Thanks for sharing Scotland with us.
I love overcast misty rainy weather. I live in the Smokey mountains so we have quite a few days like this. I think I would be at home in the highlands.
The first time I went to Scotland, I thought the Highlands would be .. well, nice. (Not a big fan of mountains here.. there, I said it.) When I arrived in Glencoe, I was absolutely speechless. That raw beauty is stunning. I went on to Skye with its spectacular scenery and was thrilled. Since then, I'd love to see the Outer Hebrides and Orkney+Shetland. So thanks a lot for the video. :) My countdown for a Scotland-Tour in 2020 is set ;)
Hi Shaun. That castle in Fort William is called Inverlochy, or Inbher Lochaidh. The original castle was the seat of the Thanes of Lochaber- possibly a branch of the ancient royal House of Alpin.
I really appreciate the way you present these shots, and these places. I especially love seeing the old castles and cathedrals. All the travel bits are good as well. Someday, my friend, I'll see these things with my own eyes, and I'll buy the local pub a round. I also hope you're in the pub at the time lol Keep doing what you do. You have a talent for this stuff. Thank you from an old Yank in the Americas who wants to get back to his roots across The Pond.

My name is Heather, a Scottish American and I love your videos. I have been wanting to visit Scotland for some time now and I value your insight. Thank you, maybe sometime I will make it there!
SUTHERLAND!! That's where my family is from (many generations ago). My grandfather's last name is Sutherland. The castle you showed (just before announcing it was day 2 and you were in Sutherland) is Dunrobin Castle. Once the seat of the Sutherland clan. If I'm not mistaken the current owner (and possibly occupant) still holds the title Earl of Sutherland, though it's mainly ceremonial at this point.
Shaun, wonderful videography! Only one suggestion is a subtitle of the flora and fonna, along with the major historical sites so we can further research the sites! At 71 this may be the closes I'll get to see my mom's side of the family home! Thank you!
Great video, Shaun! We spend 12 days visiting the Highlands last year and enjoyed every minute of it. For me, Orkney was one of the highlights, especially Skara Brae. The fact that it was cold, wet, and windy when we visited just added to the experience of that ancient, mystical place. There is so much to see in the Highlands -- the Isles of Mull and Iona, Inverness, Ullapool, Dunrobin Castle, the lochs -- it's a fantastic place to visit.
Plan, save, go! That's what did. I saved my money and ate a lot baloney sandwiches. It took me 2 years to save and it was worth every penny. It is absolutely beautiful and the Scotts are really awesome people. They are kind, sweet, warm and friendly. I didn't want to leave.
That DRAMATIC weather is one of the main reasons I love Scotland!! Absolutely breathtaking!! I wish I could be there right now!! 😍😍😍 Thank you Shaun for these amazing videos!!
Thank you Shaun for this tour. I am addicted to Scotland. Breath taking views. History so deep. Castles that let you imagine what might of happened right under your feet. Can not wait to see more. Loves the line about the rain.
Im crying! I love your country so much, especially the Highlands! I love everything about Scotland. Wish I could live there even just for a year TT. Love that Italian chapel! (Along with the rest of this vlog, as usual). They didn't go by halves, did they? What a gorgeous re use of what was available to them at the time!
We have wild thistle just like that in Ohio. I've always wanted to walk on the moors in the fog. No idea why, but it looks romantic and mysterious. I'm going to love this 😍
Amazing camera work. Glad it’s you to show us Your Scotland. Will Sam and Graham MacTavish be using you as a paid consultant for their Scotland blog? Can’t imagine anything any better than your passion for your homeland! Beautiful!!

Absolutely gorgeous Countryside, and stunning work on the churches and Chapel. I loved that you said the rain was just future whiskey. I don't drink a lot but from the time I was a teenager and first tasted it my absolute favorite thing to drink is Drambuie. I don't get it often because it's pretty expensive here oh, but I absolutely love it!
Hi Shaun, Really enjoyed this week's vlog. Seeing and learning about the locations that you're traveling to. The landscapes are stunning. Even rainy weather in Scotland is beautiful, with the misty, moody looking appearance. I'm looking forward to the next video!👍
I watched your video of your trip to the blueridge. I'm from those mountains. I agree the similarities of your hills and mountains is a lot like home. Except the weather. It it's very humid and hot here. Beautiful place.

Gorgeous! I kept waiting for you to call it driech, but dramatic was much better. The Italian church looked like a long-house with a church front on it by the way it was shot. I can't wait to see the next installment!
For my trip from Inverness to Orkney I took a little puddle jumper plane. I wanted to do the ferry, for sure, but my time was so limited, as was my transport. The bus just seemed to take too long, and I could never seem to figure out the timetable (I went after the normal season, as well). So, tiny plane it was, for a quick 45 minute flight.
