Your ability to remember how to spell so many of these cities is so impressive, I could never lol! Definitely would love to see the longitude version!

I’m surprised some people don’t remember how to spell. Maybe since it was drilled into me as a child about its importance that’s why I remember spelling.

@@Ethyro , some of the lessons you learned about how to spell might not help in spelling Asian and African cities. Some people just have more aptitude for it regardless of the effort they put in.
I find it difficult for places that I've only seen written and the only pronunciation I have is the one I've come up with. I suppose that may help my spelling at times, too. I was familiar with Ouagadougou for at least a decade before hearing it pronounced.
Similarly, I mentally mispronounce Ark- HANGEL-sk with a hard "h" to remember how to spell it.

@@deepowlsits harder with cities i have heard but never seen spelled. And thats alot. But then again, spelling is the least problem, just knowing the cities is hard enough ;)

Fort McMurray is in the Specialized Regional Municipality of "Wood Buffalo" which is the answer for these quizzes.

muscat is apparently some sort of "urban area" with multiple cities rather than an actual city, so the database that hugequiz uses doesn't pick it up as one (idk why)

I want an official ruling from the judges - in a quiz like this, it is not cheating if you look up how to spell something - it's a geography quiz, not a spelling test!

To be honest i think (it’s hard to tell with him typing so fast) that it does give you SOME spelling leeway in the guesses, obviously you still have to be in the ballpark but It looks like from watching, it accepts some typos as correct answers. Could be wrong though

That 74k in Canada probably WAS Fort McMurray. But, it's called Wood Buffalo on a lot of these quizzes, which is the name of the municipality that Fort McMurray is in.

Unsolicited Advice: Once you're in the latter part of the game, if you complete a country you haven't visited yet like Fiji and there are gaps nearby, you should type in your Fiji cities. You'll get at most half a section from each guess and possibly nothing, but it's a freebie guess and a lot easier than coming up with the 12th biggest city in Peru.
Skipping Oceania even beyond Port Moresby seemed like an oversight...Nouméa, Honiara, Suva, and maybe Nadi (Fiji) could have possibly helped.
However, this is also seems exhausting to do, so I don't blame you for punting on even trying northern Russia cities beyond Murmansk and Archangelsk. I'm sure you did better than I'd do. More importantly, anticipating what you were going to guess next kept me distracted while I was on my exercise bike.

Hugequiz goes off of municipalities, so Fort McMurray is actually Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. It's also why the location it shows for some cities like Halifax (Halifax Regional Municipality) are not where you'd think the city centres are.
