      I did enjoy this and clicked "like" like a good boy. I especially appreciated that you validated my comments from the previous video where I said many of those starting points were too difficult. I had tried and commented on Honolulu, El Paso, Lubbock, Dallas, and Brownsville. You got much further than I did with Dallas, which wasn't a surprise since I'm not great with the states surrounding Texas. Very impressive.
      You also have a new feature for Darin (@HugeQuiz) to fix so others don't have a Barnstable situation. Is there any reason not to disable the edit box once the timer expires? I don't think the user can do anything with it at that point.
      For Honolulu, HugeQuiz kind of cheats because Honolulu is the only incorporated city in the state. HugeQuiz makes an exception and you have to name 9 Hawaiian CDPs before leaving the state. The 10th ring is very thick and says "Distance Range: 225-2300 miles." The first non-Hawaii city is gettable for geography nerds. You've used it in the past. The next one or two is very difficult hard as the ring just barely touches California.

    If you get out of Hawaii after starting on Honolulu the circle magically grows bigger to get to the closest point in alaska

    • @deepowls
      @deepowls 26 дней назад +14

      Right. I wrote a reply on the suggestion on the previous video:
      "To leave Hawai'i from Honolulu, you need to name 9 Hawaiian census designated places, of which I was familiar with two. I did it out of curiosity how the circles would work when leaving the island.
      For those curious, it's a thick ring with 'Distance Range: 225-2300 miles.'
      I did, at least, correctly, get the first city outside of Hawaii on my first guess, but several here would get that. The next two are hard, but maybe the second is gettable if you zoom in."

      @Chaotic_Pixie 25 дней назад

      Starting in California just seems… mean. I LIKE IT. I mean, I did suggest ridiculously small Pennsylvania towns for a similar reason. You quickly run out of major cities and then it’s just… plains, mountains, and deserts.

    • @deepowls
      @deepowls 25 дней назад

      @Chaotic_Pixie I would think starting in San Diego wouldn't be too bad. You'd have bigger northern California cities to help traverse past eastern AZ, NM, and western TX.
      Other parts of California seem like they'd be more difficult. I doubt I could get anywhere starting in Shelter Cove. All the cities I know are over 25 miles away. After the first ring, it might not be too terrible if Fort Bragg is the choice for the second ring.
      Never mind, I just tried and Shelter Cove isn't incorporated, so you can't use it for the game.

    • @Chaotic_Pixie
      @Chaotic_Pixie 25 дней назад

      @@deepowls well, that blows. Guess one of my suggestions won’t work then. Heck! Whole cities in my state won’t work. Glen Mills, PA has a population of close to 23k, but it’s unincorporated. Fun fact. The township it’s apparently officially part of, Concord, only has a population of 17K. 🤷‍♀️
      Altadena in California has over 44K and is unincorporated.
      East LA in California has a population of approximately 120K and is unincorporated.
      These are places with post offices & zip codes. They exist, and not just by tradition. How can they not be included?

    • @deepowls
      @deepowls 25 дней назад +1

      @@Chaotic_Pixie, HugeQuiz has some games that use Census Designated Places, but it's easier to just draw the line for inclusion and something black-and-white like incorporation.
      HugeQuiz does make an exception for Hawaii in some games like this. The City and County of Honolulu is the only incorporated place in Hawaii. However, as shown in the video, you have to name multiple Hawaiian CDPs to get out of the state. I believe the 10th city is in Alaska and the 11th or 12th is in California when you start with Honolulu.
