Another amazingly beautiful shawl! Love it and autumn is my season for many reasons, birthdays, holidays, Celtic New Year, and the energy of the Earth is slowing down. I learn I have a tear in my rotator cuff and need surgery. It will be a very long time before I can pick up knitting needles or a hook. I'll be glad when the pain stops and I can get back to making fabric again. Thank you for putting big smile on my face and making me happy. Love you!!!!

I had one of those figurative "falling off my chair" moments when I saw this pattern in my email last night! It's just so stunning. I was already eyeing that Russet Hues kit, but this makes me want to get it all the more! (That and so many others, of course!) Honestly, I've talked to a few people recently about what colours I'm most drawn to, and my top description was 'dried herbs' (and Lo and behold! You come out with a dried herbs set!), followed by Earth tones in general (browns, greens, Autumnal colours, with splashes of English garden, etc.) -- anything that makes me feel vaguely like a vintage archaeologist, as though I'm wandering through the moors of Britain, or as if I'm quietly tending to my garden at a small cottage in the countryside. Your yarn and patterns always carry me off to lovely places!

Wow this could be very versatile. It reminds me of a peacock tail that would be beautiful in blues, greens, and greys also. This would be so soft, draping delicate and luxurious in Oasis Fingering weight. Love love love every project I have ever made with Expression Fiber Arts yarn. Every weight, every kind of yarn from fingering to worsted I have made was a luxury high end beautiful creation with any yarn from Expression fiber Arts. Other yarn companies I like my project but there is truly a difference between the yarn that changes the experience and the end project.

This border is one of my favorites! Thank you for walking me through it, I’m still a novice at cast on borders so video tutorials are so helpful. Would I be able to add this leaf border in place of the border used in your Etude no 3 shawl pattern, even thought that has straight edges instead of being curved?
Yes, you should be able to add it to a straight border without problems, but you will need to calculate whether the the stitch count used for the border will match up with the stitches along the edge of the Edtude no 3.

Can you tell me how to put this border on a triangular shawl? Of course I can get it all the way down the straight edge, but how would I turn the corner in pattern or insert some sort of gusset? Thank you so much!
A gusset might work. Without actually testing it, I can't say for sure how to do it. You will need some sort of additional stitches at the center point, so that it doesn't pucker and pull. Sorry that I can't help more than that.

The shawl pattern is gorgeous but the tutorial is confusing. Why not just cast on using a long tail in order to begin your sample. Don't you already have the stitches on your hook, why are you casting on stitches.
I was trying to demonstrate that you will need to cast on stitches using a cable cast on or knitted cast on in order to work the border. I hope that helps!
