- Come along with Bonnie and learn how to make the Eileen Scarf/Shawl which is named in loving memory of my late mom. It is made using exquisite fingering weight yarn and features the honeycomb cabling and strong horizontal lines and ribbing. This is an intermediate crochet design.

Beautiful shawl to add to my "want to do" list and what a beautiful tribute to your Mother. I don't create patterns, but many sweet memories of my Mother have been worked into every piece I've ever made. I lost her 47 years ago and still miss her. Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern with us.

This is a beautiful stunning work of art ❤️ is it workable with regular worsted weight yarn?
You may get a very chunky shawl, but you can still give it a try. I personally prefer the thinner yarns for this kind of texture in a garment.

Not sure I understand the question, but if making this stitch rows it is a multiple of 8 +2 + turning chain.

Beautiful work! What crochet hook are you using? It looks comfortable.
I use Susan Bates Soft hooks (although the handle isn't really soft, but very nice). There is a link in the video description (for amazon) in case you can't find these locally. I usually find mine at Joanne Fabrics.

How many yards did you actually use for this beautiful shawl? I only have a little over 1,000 yards so i would like to know if that's enough. Thank you for the tutorial.
I used 1,200 yds as shown, but you could easily end it with 1,000 yds. You just need to estimate enough for the ribbing at the end. Should be fine!

Perhaps you can try some yarn sources in Australia? I found the best alpaca yarn ever in your beautiful country! There is a wonderful store outside of Sydney called "Skein Sisters", or at least there was in 2018. I so hope their business made it through the shutdown during Covid!

Beautiful! My sister needs a shawl but doesn’t want a huge one… just something to cover her shoulders in church. Her shoulders get chilly with the fans & the air going. I’ve never made one before, so if she normally wears a large Will this fit her? She’s 5‘8“ small build. This is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been looking for weeks forone that I can make for her birthday and this is going to be the one!
This is an asymmetrical scarf/shawl that you can make any size by continuing the pattern stitch.
I don’t know if it’s your end or my end but at timestamp 1:29 The sound goes out / also buffers & doesn’t come back on until almost 10 seconds later at 1:38.
That could be your internet lag. I just checked the video and it worked well.
