I am not a father nor mother but I love style pens and this one is beautiful!
The hidden door can be fitted with a "pop" latch: a magnetic unit which operates by slightly pushing the door inward to pop it off the magnet! To leave the WC, push the door open! The bath is becoming a sanctuary of peaceful bliss! Blessings!
I came here to suggest the same thing. Push, pop open, push to close.
@@ifinicleyes I have those in my kitchen 😊
utterly brilliant suggestion from @pamelairvin3164
I do hope that Anna and Phillip consider your suggestion
I was thinking the same.

Aww, that was a beautiful ending. Thank you for sharing the section about Omaha Beach. We seem to be in the beginnings of a global push again towards fascism and oppression. As an American, we see it here in our nation and in various parts of the world. We must vigilantly guard these values, the gifts of freedom and peace, for the next generations just as these men and women did for us.
Agree. Thank you for sharing this beautiful remembrance. If we can care about others how much better would our world be right now?
My uncle died in France during WWII. He is buried there. My Dad and he left the United States the same day. The last time they saw each other they were on passing trains. My Dad thankfully came home. He fought in the Pacific and my uncle fought the European theatre. None of us have ever Ben able to visit my uncle’s grave, but he was never forgotten. He had a fiancée, left behind and of course his family. A nice lady in France did place a white rose on his grave for us and sent a picture last year. My uncle left from Mississippi where he lived at that time. I live in Tennessee and thank you for remembering our fallen. Even though I never met my uncle, I felt the loss through my Dad. Deborah Clausel
My uncle died off the coast of France just aft D Day. He was buried in a military cemetery there until my grandparents had his body brought back. I, too, feel a kinship with him although I never knew him. 🇺🇸 ❤ 🙏🏼
My father was a member of the 8th Air Corp. He flew 33 missions on a B-17 and B-24 as the flight engineer and filled in as the top turret gunner ... I and my six sisters were fortunate to be born. My parents got married a couple days after he returned home and left the next day for his new assignment. There were married 65 years until my mother passed away in 2010, my father passed in early 2014. They and all the others are definitely part of the 'greatest generation'. I mess both of them daily.
I never met your uncle either but your post brought tears to my eyes! My dad was there but he came home & just knowing the vast number who didn't make it off the beach, brought realization to the odds that he faced😢!!!
My father was a Korean War-era veteran, but his older brothers were in WWII and served in Europe. My mother's brother was in the Pacific and saved a couple of his fellow sailors who were burned badly and jumped in the sea after an attack. One of them was a poor swimmer and he pulled him to a boat sent to rescue them. My husband's father (kindlydude's father) was unable to serve as a combat soldier because he lost his big toe, but wanted to serve anyway. He signed up as a Medic and treated the wounded. He particularly remembers a horrific bombing in Antwerp Belgium, where he treated Allied wounded from the Cinema Rex bombing by a V-2 rocket. This one bomb killed more people than any one bomb during the whole war ...which seems hard to believe since whole ships went down in the seas. He got emotional about it when I asked him what his most memorable experience during the war was. Incredibly his sons had not heard the details until then, when I asked my father-in-law during a Thanksgiving gathering right before he died. We never asked him specifically, but later we wondered if that is why he named one of his sons, 'Rex'. After the war, he went on to help send men to the moon by developing the cryogenic engineering needed to compress oxygen for long flights in space ...ironically it was through Linde which was a German company originally that became Linde Air in America during WWI (confiscated for the American division), and was later folded into Union Carbide subcontracted to NASA.
p.s Linde Air was also involved in the Manhattan Project.

@@kindlydude Fascinating story. Thank you 🙏🏼
Recalling the last time evil encompassed the world should serve as a stark reminder of what we’re witnessing now.
Refuse the manipulation. Reject their lies.

Yes, I am thinking of Russia, China and Iran.
I am thinking of our own American government
Thank you so very much for highlighting the D Day 80th Anniversary. The numbers of men who bravely, selflessly fought and died need to be held in the highest esteem. Without freedom of speech, freedom of movement, freedom of worship and freedom from tyranny life has little meaning. These are ideals worth fighting for.
Beautifully said. Thank you.
Thank you Anna and Philip for these beautiful remembrances to D-Day! Now, perhaps more than ever, we need to look to the past to inform our actions in the present.
Amen to that.
Yes, amen! I agree
Well said
Thank you Anna and Philip, beautiful and respectful
Thank you for utilizing your channel to pay respect to our world's past. I pray for the eternal rest of Phillips Uncle. And to all of those whose loved ones put their lives on the line. For we are grateful that you did so for a brother on foreign soil.
My dad who served in the U.S. Army was in the third "wave" at Omaha. Thankfully he made it through. Being a staff sargeant he was still in France for the liberation of Paris. I have his photos of General Charles deGaulle walking through the Arc de Triomphe! God Bless our Armed Forces.
So grateful for his service to our country and to Europe! A hero among many!
Thank you for taking us to Omaha Beach. It is important to remember the sacrifices made by those brave people. All of us owe them a tremendous debt. We also need to resolve again to protect each other from tyranny as it threatens us today.
My family and I watched the D-Day commemoration. As a Canadian, I was very moved to see our veterans take part and hear their stories. I hope history has taught us important lessons. My fear is that we have not.
Yes. Nicely said. I just can’t believe the people who say it never happened or plainly just don’t care any more.

@@neenmach There is a documentary on Netflix in some countries created just to help the latest generation of adults to understand what facism in Nazi Germany was like, with millions kiiled including people, simply because they were Jewish. It is entitled: "Hilter and the Nazis: Evil on Trial".

We have learned nothing. Thank God for President Biden and his good character and normality. Pray for his reelection or the U.S. will descend into war and chaos and drag the world down with us.
As a Canadian, I recently learned of the Vimmy acorns; referred to as the Vimmy Oaks. We have an offspring of an original Vimmy Oak in our small Northern Ontario cemetery, sitting at about 6 feet tall at present.
Such a heartfelt idea that transcends time and roots generations in history, quite literally. Deepest respect for those who fought for liberty. May we all embrace this at present and carry it on so the Oaks stand ever steady.
Thank you both for the historical tours. The place and the monuments make the actual events come closer to us. As a citizen of the United States I am grateful to our soldiers and the all the ones from European countries that gave their lives for my freedom.
My father was in the Royal Marines and commanded [as part of flotilla 544] a landing craft ferrying mainly Canadian soldiers on to Juno beach. After completion of the landings the marines were themselves ferried to the beaches and he landed on Sword beach. They subsequently followed the already landed troops and in his case in to Brussels and then Kiel harbour in Germany. Growing up nearly every man in our street had served in one the services, either in Europe or the far East, no one was exempt.
Thank you for that tribute. It was very gracious of you to honor this day in our world history.
Watching the waves roll in on Omaha beach brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. I am in America and the current political climate here is such a threat to the sacrifices of all those who landed on that shore. I cannot begin to understand how disconnected so many people have become. May the soldiers gift to the future stand against those who seek to destroy it. Democracy, I hope will prevail. Thank you for your tribute!
And sadly at this VERY moment in the EU elections Europe is lurching towards the far right. It is staggeringly heartbreaking.
@@maximumpat1better right than the Leftie wack jobs!!
@@maximumpat1The media loves that term, “the far right.” It’s hilarious to hear that and it’s not even true. I’m glad they are waking up, it’s time. You and America have illegals taking over cities and communities and your leaders are allowing it to happen. Naples has been taken over by Africans. Yeah, keep telling yourself that 👍
@@maximumpat1 Stop pearl clutching nonsense. Europe is realizing the last chance to save its culture and way of life from monocultures imported by political imbeciles.
@deborahdoll4111 Agree, just look at all Hamas supporters demonstrating on college campuses. Disgusting .
My grandfather landed on Omaha beach on D-day. Thank you for taking us there! It made me emotional thinking of him and all the ones that lost their lives. He thankfully made it home after many months in the hospital.
I so appreciate your content last week and this on the 80th anniversary of DDay. My late husband and I visited on the eve of the 70th anniversary. We were so moved. My dad was already in a German prison camp at the time as he had been captured while flying a bombing mission out of Italy. He is 103 now and a strong individual whose life was shaped by his experience during this horrible war. I pray that we may never see such a war again.
What an amazing & admirable family history! Immense gratitude to your father for his sacrifice and how wonderful that he survived and has lived a long life!
I am always extraordinarily moved by memorials dedicated to those who fell in what will always be to me ‘the War’ since I was born in 1948 and am the child of a returned soldier. He suffered from what was then called Shell Shock. This condition diminished in him with the healing wrought by both time and our Mothers understanding, love ,forbearance, and stoicism.
God bless him for his service & suffering!

My Uncle is buried in the Normandy American Cemetary. Thank you for this tour.
American here. Thank you! I really appreciated this segment!
Thank you for making it possible for my husband to see Omaha beach where his father fought. He cant fly to France but is very schooled in the American Army’s part played in conquering Germany. We are all so proud of the part our parents played serving in WW2. Thanks for remembering them.
Thanks to your family for their service!
With a new recent war in Ukraine, and the very real threat for worse, it is even more important then it already was, to remember the fallen soldiers, who faught for Freedom and Democracy. Really good to watch the respect with how you filmed and showed us.
Huge hugs to you both for sharing this poignant resting place of over 9000+ young brave heroic American men and women. High school to college age. And this cemetery is only one of many, numbering into the millions and millions. Can we evolve enough to never allow one evil man to motivate others to hate and then kill millions, please. We must... we must stop evil before it infects again.
If you had a magnetic closure on the hidden WC door, you wouldn't need a handle on the front. you would just push it and it will open towards you. On the inside it would need a handle 🥰
What a good idea
love a good magnetic catch!
Just what I was going to suggest but you got there first. 🙂
I've used these openers/closers many times and they work well and would be as "invisible" as the door itself.
@@Cowboy-in-a-Pink-Stetson Yes they would need a handle inside though to close it and maybe a latch
@@kristinamariaarts 👍
Thank you for honoring the 80th anniversary of D day. Seeing that cemetery is so sad.
Its simple - make the door larger, so it fits with the moulding above. Then move the hardware more towards the middle, but put it, so the door ALMOST hits the toilet, when open. Then, put the hooks for bathrobes on the door. And you don't need a handle, because if the point, where it spins, is closer to the middle, you can simply push on the left side to open it 😊 AND by making the door, not the size of a door, it is much better hidden!!
Thanks for sharing some of the D day commemorations. We should never forget those brave men and women who lost their lives.
thank god, no women lost their lives on d-day
@@daniellourie1978 Well a couple of nurses did. Including the one who wouldn’t lave the wounded and is commemorated at Bayeux military cemetery.
Anna and Philip.
Thank you for sharing the memorial sites for the D day landings. I have a great uncle that landed on Omaha beach. He survived but he was changed forever. He said that he left a part of himself on that beach.
Very moving visit to Omaha beach. Seeing it always overwhelms me with grief and gratitude.
I loved that you inculde the 80th aniversary in your vlog great Thanks
Thank you for honoring those who are buried at Normandy.
Thank you Anna and Phillip for this part of the video honoring 80th anniversary of D Day
I would absolutely extend the molding to meet the molding that is above the door. Move that side molding down the wall. No question. That side molding is not lined up with the top molding, making a very obvious door. It’s not hidden at all with that molding in the side. You can hang your towels and robes inside the molding moved over on that wall. Just my opinion .
Gotta love Benoit's dry humour. I appreciate the DDay follow up.
Thank you for bringing Omaha to us who's lost soldiers there, another vlog where I have tears.
Visiting Omaha beach and the American cemetery was such a moving experience for us when we were there in 2021.
American cemetery is simply incredible. You can knock the Americans for a lot of stuff, but the reverence and respect they pay their WW2 fallen is breathtaking. ❤
Also, we stay for the entire D-day Remembrance (except that time with the Convicted Felon, but he isn't really American).
And your vets, do you take care of the ones who survived? No, you don't. 😠
Thank you for complimenting us on our celebrations of the past. Thanks also to the comment about the way we abandon our veterans. It is shameful that America does not care for her veterans or her elderly or her infirmed the way other first world nations do. Instead, we spend that money on defense of countries who take care of their veterans, elderly and infirmed.
Sorry the Americans are no different to the British/ Commonwealth in how they look after their military cemeteries. Not sure why you think they do a better job than anyone else tbh. The CWGC do outstanding work.
The most important thing is to preserve the freedom for which they died. Everywhere.
My heart and soul go out to all the persons whose souls now lie in overseas military cemeteries, who gave their lives to keep America, and the world free for democracy to shine! God be with them always! Thomas!
Thank you so very much for sharing the 80 th anniversary footage. It’s been so touching. 😢
Thank You Anna and Philip for this small journey of France history. It was very insteresting !
Thank you for acknowledging the D-Day landings and honoring all who gave up their futures so we can have our today's.
Thank you for visiting the American cemetery!💐
Thank you for paying tribute. The greatest generation.
Thank you for taking us along to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. Let us never forget the bravery and sacrifice of these soldiers. My family chose to move from Europe to Canada after the war because of the good encounters they had with Canadian soldiers during that time.
Je vous remerci, pour cette belle revue du jour du débarquement, en tant que québécois, canadien et étant vétéran, je salut tout ceux qui ont donné leur vie pour libérer la France et pour la démocratie 😪

Thank you for sharing with us this memorable D-Day video. “Let us not forget “ Please pray for the USA that we can do the right thing as we did in the past🙏
Beautifully done. As an American, thank you for vlogging the visit to the cemetery.
Thank you for your tribute to the commemoration of this special anniversary.
Men sacrificed, women, mothers and daughters left behind… families dislocated. Very somber! Heart wrenching. Thank you!
Thank you for taking us to Omaha beach. Its so important we remember the sacrifices that these men made for our freedom.
We toured Normandy ten years ago, prior to Obama's visit. The beach and cliffs, so peaceful on a sunny day, reminded us of the Laguna coast, could be any coast, really. But to stand and look out across the waves and then turn to see the rows of white crosses, to see the ruined bunkers, brings realization of the enormity of it all, the massive effort to get from the sea to the land, the horrible cost and the everlasting benefit. Where would we be now had they not been there that day?
Thank you Anna and Philip. Beautiful choice of music along with the wonderful views of the 80th anniversary. A very personal view. My father entered the army late in WWII but my Uncle in the navy started early on. I know my father was in the Pacific arena but I am not sure about my Uncle. Thank you. Brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you so much for the tour. How wonderful of you to take time and share it with us. Lest we forget….Amen. As an American I feel a need to apologize for Mr Potato Head’s speech.
As an American combat veteran, I thank you.
❤
I really appreciate your D-Day tribute. Thank you so much for remember the sacrifice of so many soldiers.
When I looked at all of those crosses I got tears in my eyes. That was my grandfathers generation and they lost so many friends including those in the Spanish Flu epidemic!. However I think the words of our Lord say it all. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
You could put a single towel bar on the hidden door, that way its still functional, easy to open and even more hidden than before :)
My thought too! And a mirror.
Thank you for remembering the fallen and the ones that were able to come home. My dad was one of the ones that brought the soldiers ashore as he was a US signalman.
Oh the Chopin Prelude was the perfect accompaniment to the D Day portion of the video!
I was thinking the same thing.
Thank you for sharing! It is so important to remember that freedom comes at a cost! Thank you to all the service men and women who served in the past and those who serve their country now!
I'm so appreciative of the fact that commonwealth graves are kept immaculate. There was a tiny one where I used to live. If you didn't walk around the area, you wouldn't find it. It was beautiful.
And then, just down the road was a non conformist cemetery that was totally overgrown. So sad.
Thank you for sharing. It hits home when you see the staggering amount of crosses representing a life that was willingly sacrificed for the cause of freedom. RIP, and thank you for your service.😔
All of the Allied guys were amazing. Thank you for your sacrifice. That meal that you ate was fish bait!

Thank you to all the allied soldiers who fought to bring freedom and democracy even though some of those soldiers faced injustices in their own homeland and army. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing what Omaha Beach looked like before all the festivities. We watched the WWII veterans being honored as well as the speeches made to celebrate the 80th anniversary. The visual of all the crosses really hits home how many lost their lives for our freedom 😍😘
Seeing the European outlook on D-Day last week and now the American point-of-view was incredibly poignant. My thanks to you for allowing us into your home every week. But I am doubly grateful for sharing the anniversary of this time in our world history. We must never forget. ❤

Thank you for remembering. Not only is the anniversary important but with the seeming turn toward authoritarianism that is happening all over the world it is a poignant reminder that we do not throw away the sacrifices so many made with their lives for our freedom. 🙏
Thank you for taking us to the cemeteries for WWII. That was very meaningful and appreciated. I love your channel.

Love you guys. That's an ingenious door and very attractive too. Beautiful music. Thank you so much for the D-Day remembrance. I'm glad for all the honorary celebrations.
Omaha Beach was where my oldest uncle was the first to hit the beach. No weapons but knives to radio in the location of the enemy artilitary. He was what you call one of the first Navy Seals. They had to swim a long distance to arrive quietly on the beach. I think they were sent in groups of 12. Only 2 in his unit returned.
Intense!

Thank you for taking us to Omaha beach. I’m so glad to see that you both see the importance of remembering the sacrifices that were made here and by all the allied forces. I love the sea and always go to the beach near my home to seek peace and comfort, when you stand on a beach such as this where so many lost their lives it must feel so strange to see it’s beauty and yet know what happened there 80 years ago. They were all so young. I had five uncles who served during this war, all in different parts of the world. We do have the individual banners on the lampposts in our village of soldiers who served to honor the 80th anniversary. We must never forget.
