Thanks for the video. I was advised to mix cabosil into primer to patch voids and cracks. Have you used it for this as well?
I think I'll be using it for epoxying outdoor steps but I've got a lot more research to do beforehand
Hi can I use that over Venetian plaster?
Sir can I use for in Epoxy Hardener Thickness?
Thanks for sharing! Did it change the color of the epoxy mix or did you add color to your mix?
There is color in this mix.
tell me why on the resin in the process of drying with cabosil, wrinkles appear ...😢
What is the visual effect if you want to use a clear epoxy? I need to coat a countertop with a 3" attached backsplash but would like it to be as transparent as possible. Thanks for the video, btw!
Any visual effect will be negligible for the amount you need to get it to hang on the backsplash. It will remain very transparent! Thanks for watching Deborah!
@@DecoCreteTV I need to use some epoxy on a window...long story
Will it still cure even with the additive or will it create high points that need to be sanded down and polished?
If thoroughly mixed, it will definitely cure evenly!
Does the epoxy harden? Like will this keep the walls in tact and free from holes?
The epoxy does harden, although it is not a structural material.
Is it 1/2 of part B or half of total epoxy??? Can we make paint cells on this or will it run off
half of total epoxy. paint cells will run off easily though.
Hello, at minute 2.30 onwards you can see that the wall is left with some shiny or luminescent flakes? What product is it?
Thanks for the comment!! The shiny or luminescent spots you're seeing are fiber optic lights. I'll leave a link to the video where we installed them and one about using fiber optics in concrete countertops. Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV👍

Great. 2? See that actually working. Will that Ruin a clear over black? Make it look cloudy?
Any visual effect will be negligible for the amount you need to get it to hang on. It will remain very transparent! Thanks for watching Genifer!
You made a video and you said you think?
Hi there
Can you apply this over Venetian plaster. ?
Is that finish is glossy ?
Thanks
The Finnish is glossy. We've never tried putting it over venetian plaster. It should go on fine, the question would be how well the epoxy bonds to the plaster. I would try a small sample piece to test the bond. Thanks for watching!!!
@@DecoCreteTV
I think will bond well. Sanding the plaster with 320 - 400 grit can give a good key for that.
Epoxy - Can it be sanded to create high gloss finish ? 120,180,240,320,400,600,1000,2000 grit ?
Also , when you add the powder, the epoxy looks like white paint. By what percentage does the powder change the transparency of the resin? Because i need clear consistency.
Thanks
@@war3405 Part of the reason it looks so white in this video is because we also had some white metallic pigment mixed into the epoxy. The Cabosil can effect clarity at a certain point, but it would take quite a bit of it. You might want to do a few tests to make sure you have the dosage right for your specific project.
@@DecoCreteTV thanks
I have one more question. When you add powder, is that kills the glossy finish of the epoxy or ? If yes how many %
@@war3405 The epoxy is high gloss on its own, the reason for top-coating it would be for protection from scratching as the epoxy doesn't resist scratches very well. I've never tried polishing the epoxy to give it a harder finish, we would recommend a coat of Rock Hard Urethane to protect the surface. Here's a link to the sales page on our website. www.deco-cretesupply.com/products/countertop-sealers-coatings-liquid-metals-poly-armour/rock-hard-urethane
I'm tryin+g so desperately hard to find the answer somewhere anywhere on the web LOL I came across your video but I cannot seem to find one that tells me how to add a thickener to epoxy I'm doing my shower walls without making it cloudy I was going to add silica and then I came across a video that scared the crap out of me and now I can't get it out of my head I don't want to be cloudy cuz it's going to be covering on glitter so it's got to keep it's crystal clear coat is there anything that you can tell me that help me keep that Crystal Clear epoxy look that would cover the glitter without taking away the luster thank you so much in advance for your time I greatly appreciate it have a blessed rest of your day and stay safe :-)
we've never tried cabosil in clear epoxy so we are not sure how much it will cloud it. My guess is, the more you put in, the more it will cloud. only way to know is to do a small test. the other option would be putting the glitter in the epoxy so you would still see it even if it clouds a bit.
I am an avaiation composite fabricator, and i use cabo sil everyday it will cloud up all clear epoxies. There are low sag resins, but i have not used any, but i do know they exist. Try calling smooth- on to see if they have something
Does it still self-level?
the more you put in, the less it will self level
Can u use this on clear epoxy ? Does it stay clear?
Any visual effect will be negligible for the amount you need to get it to hang on to a vertical surface. It will remain very transparent!
@@DecoCreteTV awesome ty
do you know if cabasil yellows?
The Cabosil itself is UV stable, but most clear epoxy is not. So, I guess it would depend on what you add it to. We would consider jobs like the one in this video to be interior only. Thanks for watching!!!
@@DecoCreteTV thank you. I'm going to try it in polyaspartic, which is uv stable.
@@MarktrustingJesusany update?
Why my mix always is like Brown not white? I gess is the color of the resin or what???
Yes, it would depend on the epoxy. Some of them naturally have an amber tint in the resin. The one we're using in this video is a clear epoxy with a little bit white metallic pigment. I'll leave a link to the stuff we were using. Thanks for watching!!!

@@DecoCreteTV thanks bro 🙏🙏
But I don't think that would work if you want your epoxy clear
It would depend on how much you add. But yes not a great option for crystal clear epoxy. Thanks for watching!
