Interesting takes on Hong Kong and mainland from you guys. The multi cultural environment here in hk does make a difference. Sometimes people just have no idea how to react, seeing folks of different ethnicities. They likely have no ill intention most of the time. The same is true for hk people.
I am a Hong Konger living in New Zealand, honestly, I think most local HK Chinese don't know anyone in the Indian/African community over there - they just simply don't manage to meet any of you guys in their daily live, esp. if you guys are not able to speak some Cantonese, only stay in ethnic enclave likes the Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui and don't go anywhere else in HK.....it is just like the situation when Chinese people overseas only stick to the Chinatown.
@@thelias91 Of course there are some, as many of them were born in HK and study in the local school, etc. rather than in Chungking Mansions. But for those who arrived as an adult, it is hardly anyone. I also wonder if there is any local born African actually study and live the normal life likes the ordinary Chinese there in HK like some of the Indican/Pakistanese do as mentioned by you?
A world without racism would be a better place for all of us. You are good at communication with different people, well done.
