my daughter just got her heart broken by her fiance! He put a ring on her finger, promised to put her name on the mortgage when they both got the house from my friend and she had a baby by him. He ended it all and kicked her out! She has to start all over again. Please please, don't give up your house, always be in control and never rush into any relationship! You will always be in control and have a home! My daughter is going to follow this advice once she is back on her feet!
My husband left me 2 months after the wedding, kicked me out of his house and I stranded in a foreign country. It was traumatizing, I agree, just trust yourself and be in control. I will never ever give a man control over my life. Some humans are brutal.
What a scoundrel your daughter's BF was. I'm sorry this happened to her, while I agree that Elise should financially protect herself, not all guys are like the one your daughter had the misfortune to meet. Although I'm sure that your grandchild has given some meaning to it.

Absolutely! Elise should keep her house no matter what. She can always rent it for income, but don't give up assets for this man, any man.

Maybe she would need to sell it to buy another home. I see it like this, whatever $$$ she puts into it he needs to do the same, and/or they need to draw up a legal contract specifying what her contribution is versus his. If she puts up 75% of the money then that is what she needs to get out of it before any profits can be made should they sell the home. It needs to be an equitable iron clad contract where she is protected.
You have a pattern with relationships and this is just my take on it; you are so eager to have the happily ever after that you are willing to sacrifice everything to get it. You gave up Luna for a guy, then you went through the house mess with the last guy. You pushed forward and got your feet back under you, after selling the adorable yellow allotment and buying your current place. You have not been in it long enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Rent your house if you feel you must move, but don't let go of it. If things go bad and you have sold the house, it is going to take you longer to get back on your feet. I wish you all the happiness you deserve! I was just like you and I know it's hard to fight that urge, but trust me, protect what you have.

I think this definitely spoken from experience and knowledge. It’s great advice for everyone reading and listening.
She has asked before for people not to overstep her boundaries, and she asked again in this video. She doesn’t need some psychological analysis done on her, her situation or her relationship. It’s a privilege to be let into a glimpse of someone’s life - it’s not an entitlement to start dissecting her or her “patterns”. If she shares less with us, it’s because of comments like this. She has family and friends around her for advice. She doesn’t need strangers on the internet who think they know her. You’ve massively overstepped a boundary here. As well intended as you may have been - it is not your place.
Ya know thats a great idea, to rent her current place! Thats a secure nest egg that will allow her to spread her wings and see what happens, if it was the wrong path, she can always come home to her garden and new skylights and beautiful bedroom, yes

I hope you and your boyfriend a happy, successful relationship but please do not rush to give up your home. You are such a independent, talented, beautiful young Woman and Im sure your boyfriend loves everything about you, but please please never give up your own for a man at least in the early stages of a relationship. My friend moved her boyfriend 6 mos ago into her place, all going well. I ran into her in the grocery store two nights ago and she said she had kicked him out, did not work out, but she had kept her place and moved him in. Lucky
I'm about 30 years older than you, so this is said with a lit it life experience and with a living heart. I'm not sure what the common property laws are in your country, but if you buy property with someone without marriage, PLEASE have a contract drawn up so that you are both protected in the event it doesn't work out. I've made this mistake and left the relationship with nothing. I hope the best for you both but always protect your interests.

Wow, this is brave. But it is life. It has to go forward. I know, some think of all the work you put into this house now, and some think of the last boyfriend/house situation, but in the end it is your life. Go for it and never regret anything. Believe me, I have been there in my life and I have succeeded, failed, morned, fallen down, gotten up again and kept going. This is life. It is a constant movement and it has it`s ups and downs. I am wishing you all the best with your future. Tipps for old house purchases: Check the pipes/plumbing, check the heating system, check the roof and check the energy/athmosphere. I lived in haunted places before. No kidding. But I know you will be able to feel it. You are a sensitive person. Lot`s of love from me and my 121 year old house in Germany.
We'll be staying in my lil' house for now, but I don't plan to stay still in my life. I like growth and new challenges, and luckily I found a guy who see himself in an old house too 🥰

Elise, please take this advice as someone who is wishing for the best for you. Why the rush to move out of YOUR home, one that you have so lovingly been renovating and investing in!? You need to put the brakes on this relationship, and think of your financial future. If he can't accept that, see that as a huge red flag and move on. The fact that you know people are going to freak out about it, really is confirmation you aren't confident either.

Here's the thing: You could be right but what if you're not? You might be advising her based on your own experience in life. Every situation is different. I had a whirlwind romance 22 years ago and we are still together. I say go for it if her instincts tell her to. I will say this, unless he is going to marry her, or unless they are going to contribute equally to the new place, she should legally protect the equity she puts into the new home, so if they ever have to sell it, then she receives her fair share of her investment.

You are going to do what you want, your life, but I’ve been there and trust me it’s too soon. Recommend you keep your home to go back to when things don’t work out.
I can see why you were interested in the house. There's so much space, but also so much to maintain, clean and make your own. Enjoy your house now. You haven't been there long and you've worked so hard to get it the way you like it. Enjoy it for a little time without taking on a huge project, you're busy enough! Plus the most important thing is that it's all yours!
PLEASE, for your safety don't sell your house! Keep it, it's yours. This is only an advice.

When I got married I decided to keep my condo and rent it out. I'm so glad I did. Not only is it perfect for us to settle when we"re older. Also, the rent is a nice source of income. Property ownership can also be a good way to save for retirement as well.
The old mill looks so lovely! I'm sure you could really work your magic on the interiors and make it into a wonderful home. Living together in your current home could be a great test though, to see how you guys work as a team before commiting to getting a place together. I'm sure you have your head full of things to consider at this point 🥰 weighing the pros and cons of it all. But how exciting!
I don't leave comments often, but this comment section could use some normalcy. 😅 Blue is my favorite color but the green on that cabinet works so much better in that room! Not all couples turn into horror stories. My husband and I have been together 20 years (married 17) and it was a second time for both of us. We were pretty much inseparable from day one and I moved into his house but later got out together home.
Every story can go either way but we all go into it with the hope it’s going to work…that how life works. Of course it’s not a bad idea to be a bit guarded but after awhile you have to trust your heart and go where it leads you. I’m happy that you and your boyfriend found each other. Don’t give anyone the power to take your joy away!
I like your story and glad you posted. I have a similar story with my wonderful husband. It happened fast between us in 2013, and we have been together ever since. We got married last year after 10 years together, and I have never regretted us moving fast. He was the one and I knew it. Like every relationships, there have been times when it was not all bliss and happiness but I would not want to live my life without him in it, and I know he feels the same. We just celebrated our First Anniversary and we are looking forward to many more years together.
My boyfriend moved in with me after a week of us getting together (we had known each other a little while before hand) we have been together over 15 years.
Married 30 years, took things slow. Dated for one full year before engagement. Was teaching at a university and working on two books. When books were done, I was engaged. We married and bought a house together 6 months later. Two years later baby1, and two years after baby1, baby2 came.
If you move, lease the house you are in so you can receive personal income and have a place to go if things ever go south.
I know it feels pessimistic to think of this stuff when you are in the honeymoon phase, but as someone who dated someone for 4 years before marriage I’ve learned that you can’t really know a person. I trusted him completely and he ran away with our teenage goddaughter. I was with him for 12 years and he is going for funds from the divorce he knows he doesn’t deserve so he can start a life with her out of state.
In the beginning he was handy around the house and lovey. All my friends loved him, but some people wait to flip the switch once things get serious. It’s more common than you’d think.
So, I hope things go well, but be sure to protect your assets and have a way out as an option if you need it. It’s not fun, but it is wise.

Looking at houses is exciting! But as lovely as it is, I agree that house is crazy huge and close to a busy road is a big no. Autumn/winter is the best time to view houses though, summer sunshine can make anything look promising. The countryside has been a goal of yours for quite some time, I always felt like where you are now isn't the forever place, just a stepping stone. I haven't even read the comments but I'm sure it's the usual doomsayers... Live your life baby, only you know what feels right! (ps that magenta coat you're wearing when you went shopping looks glorious on you!) 💝

What one learns, especially as a woman, with age are two very important things: A.) we learn to stop asking others for permission, acceptance and/or approval for our life choices. B.) we also learn that some things are simply private and personal so we don’t share them for many reasons most especially because when we share so freely it gives others a false belief that they have the right to weigh in on the matter and we appear by sharing, to imply that we need their acceptance, consent and approval, when in truth we do not! This is your life and even if you are sharing some of it on RUclips others need to realize they do not get the right to comment on it. As I said these lessons if you will come with age and one day you will realize you do NOT need to start ANY conversation about ANY topic, with ANYONE, with the words ‘please do not freak out’! Trust yourself and your ability to know what is best for you! Even if a ‘mistake’ is made it is still your right and your choice to make it! It's the internet, people can comment whatever they want, especially if it's from a caring perspective. Also, if she doesn't want comments, she can just close the comment section. But ALL comments create traffic, this hype is at least partly manufactured to create revenue.
I think a lot of people are commenting an concerned, because we all watched her go through such drama and emotional issues after the last renovation with her ex-boyfriend and then escaping moving her things out in the middle of the night with her families help and are concerned same thing going to happen to her. This is a group of dedicated subscribers who have been following her since her videos started. Watch her former videos of her renovating a home and then having no where to live and having to live with her family and them moving her in the middle of the night.

Make a dress shaped sign which can have pieces overlayed on it, not fabric, but something waterproof, that you can change out the dress design for each Season or Holiday. It would be creative, so something you could design, paint ect. Also eye catching and promotes what you sell.

So here’s my opinion about house-hunting with a new boyfriend- you can dream big and look; if there is a house you take a second or third look at, have a list a house inspector would look for. If you buy a house, do two things: keep your house and rent out- passive income is good, as it’s a plan B in case plan A falls apart. And, put the house in one person’s name. If in his name, definitely keep your house. If in your name, use your current’s house profits to pay for house you buy. And if it doesn’t work out between you and him, you have a place to go to. Also, moving way too fast, but psychos and narcissists move fast and want their target to be completely dependent upon them, for control reasons.

At my age, my first thought is about the guy. Hoping for your sake that he's honest, a hard worker and genuinely loves you and that he'll be the one putting up the money. Then he'd be a keeper. It's okay to dream but...
