I can see Kia providing Australians with the cars they really want over the next 50 years of Australian motoring. Powerful, roomy, good looking rear-wheel drive vehicles. Holden and Ford stopped listening years ago. Chryslers, Mitsubishis and Toyotas have all had good market share in family sedans in the past so it proves Australians aren't afraid to try something new. Well done Kia, let's get this thing to Bathurst!
It only gets better the more you drive it. Had mine since the 27th of December and I love every second of driving it. There have been a couple of issues with rattling from both the boot and drivers door which have been rectified by the dealer. It seems like it has been a common problem with many owners making the same complaint.
How's the seat in the middle? I saw it but since the side seats are bucketted inwards, the bulge in the middle seat at back didn't look to be that comfortable.
Great, honest video - thanks! I'll probably buy the version 2 of this - I'll be up for a new car in a year or two, and I hope Kia listen to feedback on this one and do it justice! Would be nice if the release a stock one with a decent sounding exhaust - sound is nice to have but no way would I spend $2600 just to have it.
History suggests that a premium brand can sell affordable cars but an affordable brand will struggle to sell premium cars. I hope Kia can overcome that trend.
Two weeks ago saw Stinger parked by "Lock Ness" same colour. Took three pics. Awesome. Some co trippers also OTM! Kia in their own way, are on curve to do a 'German' only maybe better one day. Mat. I saw your new BM. Ever thought of joining the urban poor and doing a Kia Hyundai or is it a 'bridge too far'?
I notice that the Australian version doesn't have an auto engine start/stop button. Does this mean that it doesn't have auto start/stop or that it can't be disabled? Anyone know?
Damien Pol I have a GT1 , u can disable that system, it has a button on the center console just in front of the seat heater control for the passenger side. It’s the first thing I do when I start the engine as every time u start the car that system is automatically turned on.
Hi! Has anyone fit struts bars on Stinger? eng.ultraracing.me/Ultra-Racing-Shop/Kia/kia-stinger-awd/ If so, how does it affect the handling? I can not find any reviews anywhere.
Kia needs to make a COUPE version of this car. More sport oriented, I know is GT but they need something more aggressive with manual shift. Please, NO dual mass flywheel (DMF). And bump the power close to 400 bhp. And KIA needs a better logo than that, it looks old and boring.
Brian Roode It's Australia. Everything looks upside down and back to front here. I've always lived here, so I don't know otherwise but I've been told you get used to it after a while.
Don't mean to throw salt, but. at the end of the day, it's still a Kia. translation=poor quality of product. a friend of mine who has a fiancee, work's for a Kia dealership is always saying that the repair shop is always full of Kia's for engine problems. I know all auto manufacturers have their share of problems, but c'mon! dropping $50,000 large on a Kia just doesn't appeal to me personally.
Kia needs to stay in their lane and stick to what they are good at which is cheaply made inexpensive college student cars. This will never be an RS7 or CLS AMG or RS400 its garbage. KIA performance is like prius luxury it just doesnt make sense.. Just know that if you own one youre being laughed at by real car enthusiasts and good luck finding a place to park at the car meets LMAO you can put icing on a turd and its still a piece of sh*t.
stangr21 I have to laugh at ur ridiculous comment. Been to many car meets and shows. The Stinger has gotten a hefty amount of attention and I’ve already won a couple of awards at some shows. Don’t know where YOU live but I find plenty of parking for my Stinger and my 67’ GTO at the shows. My wife and I take both cars to our shows here. Oh and BTW I was the one laughing when a douchebag in his BMW 430i tried to fuck with me on the road and quickly regretted it. He just got smoked and couldn’t believe his eyes. It’s not the first and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
stangr21 you know this from experience do you ? my Optima was hardly cheap at nearly $40,000 and has run like a dream for the five yeas I 'Ve had it. Where as the locally made holdens we owned were " shit " we had nothing but trouble with them. Top designers from both Audi and BMW have designed some of the Kia's in recent times such as the Optima and Stinger. Kia are the only car manufacturer that in recent times offer a seven year warranty. Fed up of you " badge snobs" that don't know what you're talking about.
Love that ceramic gray color. That would be my second choice- but I went for the black with red interior. Love it!

Darren Wishart-Brown until electric cars take over... it comes sooner we think.
Union booses greed , made it expensive to build a great car at a budget

kristian weston did you get the bi-modal exhaust option? I test drove one with the bi-modal exhaust and it sounded terrific.

This is an impressive GT and that was an excellent review.

Really good review guys. You took an honest approach and for people like me who are contemplating purchasing this car, it’s refreshing.
The changing of the guard.

I really like it in yellow, but you cannot have the red interior in some of the exterior colours. But this grey looks neat.
Now my wife wants this car.
LOL! ...happy wife...happy life greyman003! Thanks (and thank your wife too) for watching!
I'm definitely going to get one of these ASAP!..
i looking to buy one of these myself , good review

Saw some models online with a brown/ivory interior. Will the stingers in Australia ever come with this interior color?

Definitely Red....Definitely
I'm really hoping they'll come out with a convertible one day.
Man I wish mine had the heads up display!

GREAT point
buy it used, these cars depreciate a lot.
So Kia, then found "room to improve ", right? They succeeded, Kia Stinger.
