Recipe For Fa'ausi Maukegi
Ingredients
Fa'apapa
1/2 chopped pumpkin
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 can coconut cream
4-5 cup plain flour
Niu
1-2 can coconut cream
2 cup sugar
Feeds 6 people
Ingredients cost under $10.00
1) Boil pumpkin on high heat until cooked. Drain and allow to cool down.
2) Once cooled, mash pumpkin with potato masher in a big bowl.
3) Add 3/4 cup sugar and mix through
4) Sift through flour into bowl and mix through using wooden spoon
5) Add in 1/2 can coconut cream and mix through until like a cake-mix
6) Cover your baking dish with foil and line with butter. Pour fa'apapa mix and cover top with foil.
7) Put in oven to bake at 170-180 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. (In the last 10mins can take foil off to brown the top
8) For the Niu Sauce, add sugar to a pot and cook on high heat. Melt through until you notice small bubbles around the edge (best to start with a low-medium heat to be safe)
9) Add coconut cream and stir through (be careful as the melted sugar will cause steam effect) Keep stirring through until the steam has stopped. (best to turn oven off for this, allow mix to come together) Sometimes when left with toffee pieces, stir through on low heat until dissolved.
10) Remove fa'apapa from dish when baked and allow to cool. Once cool, slice into cubes and put in large bowl ready to mix.
11) Pour in coconut caramel sauce and mix through. Ready to serve!
12) Best to put in fridge and allow sauce to thicken over night. Enjoy!

@@venizales come back one day ❤️
So easy to make it, thank you for the recipe ✌️
No worries Rocha
why you ad more sugar in to mix, sauce have sugar. No good OBE
Hi Veni looks delicious! Just Wana make sure is it pumpkin or kabocha Squash?
Are you using raw sugar for the sauce?
Veni are you in brisbane ?
This is like a Spanish dish. Instead of cutting up into cubes, they actually pour the caramel over the top and let it sit over for a few hours. So it soaks into the cake. It's very similar.
Wow love that Idea! Might give it a go too - is it like a caramel tres leche cake?
@@venizales yes uso. It's soo sweet and scrumptious.
Is the oven temp in Fahrenheit or Celsius?
😮 beaucoup trop de beurre
Delicious 😋 I baked my pumpkin, better flavour ☺️👍🏼
Just a question are you using raw sugar? Or white?
I’ve never seen this made with pumpkin. Growing up our was made with taro
wow i’ve only had fausii with taro shredded no pumpkin.
Is it bad if the sauce is dark brown like near to black?
Should I start again?
@@nesianette you can add more coconut cream to thicken and lighten the colour. But if you refridgerate it and let it sit overnight in the fridge it will change in colour. But yes try adding more coconut cream
Can you make keke puaa next please?
no worries Iso will upload soon!
@@venizales The man thanks bro enjoy all of your videos Uso keep up the great content 👍🏽
