He seemed frustrated while Qrow was walking to retrieve his weapon, and perked right up when he grabbed it and went right back on the offensive. For some reason, he is much more capable of tracking the motions of an attack when it's being launched from a weapon, but not so much when it is well... a bare fist. If this is indeed the case, it would explain why he waited for Qrow to pick up his weapon again, as he could have felt he'd have legitimately had a harder time fighting him while he was disarmed after Qrow demonstrated that he is not afraid to fight with his bare hands. If Tyrian also inherited the traditionally poor eyesight of a Scorpion along with the tail, he may be critically dependent on such a semblance.

Maxx denizkurt He just likes to give people chances. (Would otherwise be a quick fight) Also Scythes aren’t as good for one on one combat with a small, quick hitting enemy. Like Crescent Rose, which is a badass against Grimm, but utterly useless against people.
3:39 Tyrian: "Now I know what you're thinking; "Should I cut off his tail?", and the answer might surprise- *Cut* Tyrian: YOU BITCH! Jaune: I was not ready for today. Ren: I don't think any of us were.
“Bad luck charm” really fits this fight scene and really shows off why Qrow tries to stay away from other people like when ruby says it’s her fight too he says it’s not that, he just wants her to leave because of his semblance 10/10
And so Qrow is hot goth and lone wolf (well, crow) but not because he feels like it but because his Semblance fucking over everyone around him so when he fight alone its only enemies who got to suffer from bad luck and when there is allies friendly fire happens I so fucking in love with such smart superpower concepts that enhance character's place in the story and their personality
I heard a theory somewhere that scorpions don't "see" the way humans do, they sort of sense their surroundings, and thought it was very logical - Tyrian doesn't seem to be looking at Qrow at all during that part of the fight, and the second he senses Qrow touch his weapon (use force on it), he lunges. Qrow was probably ninjawalking and Tyrian couldn't sense him.
kind of a stupid theory, since Tyrian looks at people and clearly uses his eyes to see. Also, if you can hear footsteps, it's making more than enough vibrations to be felt by critters sensitive to them.
The Mighty Pickle Rex maybe his senses are limited to a radius of 2 feet this is longer with is tail giving it a 4 feet radius given how he didn’t even need to look to perfectly predict and block the bullets fired at him
@@blaurghh you`re wrong, let me copy comment from another video by TheDisarminghinkle : >>I had to watch this fight several times and do research into scorpions to understand this fight, but I think I finally understand everything that happened. Tyrian is a scorpion faunus. Scorpions, like most arthropods have several sets of eyes, but those eyes are not effective at identifying sharp images. Scorpions are actually more sensitive to light than most eyes in the animal kingdom, allowing them to see in almost complete darkness. But, that really identifies for them a vague sense of something moving somewhere. There's not really any depth or sharpness to it. However, also like many arthropods, they DO possess nerves in their exoskeleton and antennae far more sensitive to vibrations in the air and on the ground. This is what makes them such effective hunters. So, Tyrian has awful eyesight. But, he makes up for this by hearing and sensing them when they make rapid motion. When he wants to actually get a good look at Juane, he gets right in his face. This is also probably why he started the fight immediately, THEN asked Ruby to come with him. Yes, he also obviously just likes fighting, but also needed to actually identify them. He was likely given intel on them so he knew their weapons. He just had to actually touch their weapons to figure out who was who. Going back to Juane, this probably indicates that he recognized Juane's weapon. Someone with this sort of sensitivity would probably recognize touch in the same way that a person recognizes a face. He felt the shield then briefly wondered if he was fighting someone he had fought before so he had to get a better look at Juane's face. Juane DID say that the weapon has been passed down in his family. It's also why when Ruby shot Nora and everyone stopped moving, Tyrian stopped fighting. He probably had a sense of where they were, but no one was doing anything so he was confused. Then, he felt the vibrations Nora was giving off and got more confused. This also explains his amazing reaction time. He feels things as they happen so he can roll with the punches. When people try to sneak up behind him, he already knows they're coming. He's able to fight off several attackers at once because even without looking at them, he still knows what they are doing. He attacked Qrow while he was talking because it was easier to get a better "view" of him. In general, when people were swinging their weapons in the air, that was when he went for his attacks. Metal makes a very distinct sound when gliding through the air. He was using that to identify where and what they were doing. Which leads to the strangest part of the fight and the whole reason I even did research on this in the first place. When Qrow lost his weapon, Tyrian was suddenly unable to fight Qrow at all anymore. Watch that moment when Ruby takes that first shot from the roof. Tyrian doesn't look toward where Ruby shot. He looks at where the bullet landed. Because that's the vibration that caught his attention. Then, the subsequent bullets make noise which makes him pay attention to that. And, while all that noise is happening, Qrow is able to just walk right up to him without him noticing. He can't block Qrow's subsequent punches because unlike metal, skin doesn't cause nearly as much vibrations in the air. I'm certain this is the actual explanation because the writers even went so far as to put something so subtle in that it couldn't possibly have any other meaning. The moment Qrow touches his weapon, there is a subtle sound. It's almost completely inaudible. It's just a little tap. There's no reason to put that tiny sound in for the audience unless it meant something. That metallic clang was all Tyrian needed to get a perfect idea of where Qrow was again. I think Qrow figured it out at this point. Qrow started going out of his way to use his bad luck to set up traps for Tyrian. Because he knew Tyrian wouldn't be able to see them at all. Then, Ruby had to step in and ruin it. Now that I know why Tyrian had such an odd habit of being unable to fight people at certain moments, I can rule that out as his semblance. Which means his semblance is the far more obvious sort of Aura Poison. Whenever he hits someone, their aura ripples or fizzles. It's strange because usually that doesn't happen until they're running out. It seems that he doesn't even need to hit them directly. I believe it was said at some point that people's weapons are also wrapped in their aura. So, just hitting the weapon means he's hitting their aura and it begins to drain. Furthermore, when Qrow is sent flying out of the building, you can see his aura fizzle away. It seems that Tyrian actually gains the aura he drains because for a brief moment, you can see Tyrian's aura looking blue around his body as he jumps from the building. Either that or he also ran out of aura. I guess that would explain how Ruby was able to cut his tail. There was one last interesting thing in this fight that I don't have an explanation for. After Tyrian poisoned Qrow, his eyes went from yellow to purple. Eye color seems to be a significant thing in this world. Between Neo, Yang, and Silver Eyed people, it seems to be indicative of a lot. So, I wonder what it means there.
Burning-Fox I don't get it. Is the voice actress settling into her role? Shouldn't the voice mature a little bit then? Her voice itself is being flanderised. She became more of a cliche Shonen hero too. Before she was a well-meaning but antisocial ball of energy who loved weapons. Now look at her, her dialogue in this fight sounded like it came straight out of Naruto.
I love watching Qrow shift into fist fight mode. You just know this isn't the first time he's had to put an old fashioned beat down on some punk. This fight also shows that he was at best humouring Winter during their S3 fight.
I wonder if they're trying to imitate Monty's style. It's one of the best in the entire series, not just the Vol. 4. Other battles I'd say are this good are Team RWBY and JNPR vs. the Nevermore and Death Stalker, Yang vs. Junior and his gang, and Blake, Sun, and Penny vs the White Fang and Roman Torchwick. All of those had Monty working on them.
I have to say, though I despise the character: Tyrion’s fighting style is fucking amazing. The seamless use of a third limb in battle is incredible. Using it as a weapon, for added mobility (Such as the acrobatics around the building) and even as a shield of the blocking of Crescent Rose’s bullets is anything to go by. Props to Rooster Teeth.
2:08 Is kind of one of my favorite moments of the fight because is showcases how Qrow uses his semblance to his advantage. He noticed the cracked beam and ran in the direction knowing that the bad luck he radiates would cause Tyrian to land on it and cause it to break.
Dungeon master: " Unknown enemy disarms you. What do you do?" Qrow: "I roll to punch him in the face." D: " you sure?" Q: "yep." D: "ok, can't wait to see you fai.....What?!?" Q: "dices landed on 20, right?"
Nice to see Ruby hasn't learned anything about teamwork or listening to her superiors when they're trying to fight an opponent she has no chance against.
I love the part where Qrow literally just looks at his fist like "F*** it, I've been in plenty of bar fights, I'll go for fisticuffs." and just casually walks forward as he absolutely pummels Tyrian. So awesome 😂😂
This has to be one of the best choreographed fights in any animated series, honestly if only it were a few moments longer I'd call it perfect. Great music, great setup,a little light comedy in it, we even get to see just how ridiculously fast they're going by seeing it from an outside perspective- making everything they do all the more impressive.
I think it's a personal code of not attacking someone who's unarmed, cause he looks up and immediately attacks when qrow grabs his sword out of the wall.
Tyrian: Oh ho! What will you do with out your wea-?" Qrow punches him in the face. Tyrian: "Son of a-" Punches again. Tyrian: "Mother fu-!" Punches again. "This is bullshi-!" Kicks him. "The only way this would be worse if my tail got cut o-." Tail gets cut off. "Oh come on!"
If you rewatch the character short for this volume, you will notice Ruby uses the same move agaist the grimm as Qrow used against Tyrian at 0:14 seconds.
I love that argument. Murders, cutting off limbs, racism, world where everything is trying to kill you are fine, but one time a guy curses and "OMG it's not for kids anymore!"
Zero the Faceless The problem with RWBY is that while the world should look like that, it doesn't and half the time it's like the Grimm don't even exist. The common people aren't racist, and life just seems like a fantasy version of our world. Go read something like Berserk and compare it RWBY's "post-apocalyptic world". This is coming from someone who loves RWBY by the way, I just see so much missed potential that it pissed me off sometimes.
Hex Productionz using his scythe, as Ruby kept proving, would've put him at a huge disadvantage against someone who is an extremely agile close range fighter capable of closing distances quickly. So his normal sword was a better weapon for this fight
Imperium Giopp Dumister Fair point. Though for tactical purposes his scythe would've came in handy due to him actually having a faster swinging speed, he could keep up with Tyrian and is already shown faster. His scythe would also help his semblance more for causing more damage around him to give Tyrian bad luck. But hey that's kinda my opinion you probably are right
Something to know about, to make it simple... Scythe = -def, -speed, -range, +atk. Great Sword is the reversed stat buff that the Scythe provides. Seeing how Tyrian is up in your face, more range and defensive maneuvers are needed, and a Scythe just doesn't give the wielder that option.
The combat style of scythe users is based on momentum since scythes are quite unwieldy. The direction of a strike can not be stopped as easly as a swordstrike. Swords on the other hand are more strength based weapons with the goal of many 'weaker' attacks (compared to a fully 'charged' scythe blow). Looking at this fight both parties had their momentum taken in a lot of moments. And in the end even Ruby wasnt able to build up momentum to cause damage and she has the advantage of her rifle inside the hilt to create momentum. Tyrian also stayed close enough to Ruby to be out of reach of her blade.
This was literally the best thing in RWBY in my opinion, better than than all of the other fights, even the one at the end of Season 4, which, while I won't spoil it, was emotional and simply amazing.
This fight was really well done. Especially Qrow's sword throw and pose. However, I feel like they take extra keyframes to allow the characters to pose. Which makes the fight a little too sharp. Overall, this was truly well done. Almost like Monty's.
Qrow, it kind of makes sense why the beam suddenly falls on Ruby now, for no reason. It was Qrows badluck semblance, which means had she stayed out, Tyrian would have probably suffered from that bad luck instead. In a more burtal way to say it, Qrow's probably going to die, and it's all Ruby's fault for not listening like she was told.
Well that's what happens when you have semblance that causes misfortune to everyone around you. Enemies and allies alike. Aka, the reason why Qrow didn't want the other to fight, or why he works alone so much or why his opponents are unlucky (Tyrian falling off the roof and losing his tail, Winter getting caught fighting by Ironwood).
Aaron Mackellar Aka. indiscriminate good luck to everyone around them. And considering they are siblings, they might not even realized that they had these semblances if they were together most of the time. Really cool semblances.
Liiq and Tyrian wouldn't have lost his tail and been rendered a non-threat if she hadn't and got Qrow's semblance to start setting up the chain events leading to Tyrian's misfortune
He probably would've gotten fucked over regardless as a result of that anyway, considering the ability is truly indiscriminate, also became Miles and Kerry are sadistic and feed upon our sweet, salty tears. Xp
Couple of notes on the moments a bunch of people are theorizing about: 1. For those wondering how Qrow is able to land as many punches as he does, I’d say that Tyrian simply wasn’t anticipating the first one to the nose. From there, (keeping in mind that aura prevents actual bodily harm but evidently doesn’t keep one from feeling pain) Tyrian was disoriented enough that Qrow could catch him in a combo. 2. While I’ve heard plenty of interesting theories on why Tyrian didn’t attack Qrow while he was going to get his sword, I more-so read the scene as Tyrian baiting him into an advantageous position. When he tossed his sword into the wall, it may have been that Tyrian knew that it was firmly lodged in, and he feigned hanging back to get Qrow to drop his guard while trying to get it back. He struck just as Qrow’s back was turned, and Qrow realized the game Tyrian was pulling just barely fast enough to dodge his attack and get his sword free with the shotgun blast. Just some thoughts about the fight, this is one of my favorite episodes to rewatch because of it.
Maybe it's also because they wanted to make Tyrian act more like a scorpion (since, well, he is one). Scorpions use vibrations to sense things around them, so depending on how much noise Qrow makes (which is easy as long as he has his weapon considering just how big it is), Tyrian becomes more reactive to it (which also explains how he was able to multitask well against all of team RNJR, alongside his tremendous skill compared to theirs). It's clear that Tyrian doesn't have scorpion senses when not fighting, but perhaps he does have those too alongside his human senses (which presumably become active when he fights, or it's just an artistic choice).
a lazy guy To be fair she was just watching Qrow having a hard time beating Tyrian and potentially die, also he never told her about his semblance so hes kinda at fault too.
He didn't fight alongside him in his fight with Clover. He was rather focusing on the threat that was desperately trying to either kill him or arrest him currently. That being Clover, who didn't cooperate in trying to stop Tyrian either.
@@Patheticrow The threat was Tyrian. Clover, AT WORST, would knock him out. He also made not mention of killing. Hell, he did more to show that he had no intentions of hurting Crow. So we can put away that "killing" nonsense. Tyrian was the biggest danger there and need to be taken out. He should have hyper focused on the literal serial killer rather than his friend. He absolutely fought alongside Tyrian. Especially when Tyrian made that little arrangement telling Crow to focus fire on Clover.
That is the part that I like to repeat. It is simply epic, not only because of Qrow's mastery of getting up, but also because they both lost the aura barrier that protected them. You could clearly see that their fight was going VERY evenly.
People say that Tyrian can only identify people if they're holding weapons but this theory doesn't remotely make sense when you consider the fact that Tyrian was able to interact with the waitress unless people consider aprons to be weapons. My guess is that the reason as to why Qrow managed to punch Tyrian in the face is because Tyrian is bad at hand to hand combat. If not, he simply didn't expect Qrow to punch him at all.
AngelicusEXperiment also, if he has other scorpion traits, his eyesight is based off sound primarily. Which would explain how he could react in time to Ren and Nora's sneak attack and why Qrow's fists hit (Ruby shots were probably most of what he could hear and focus on and swinging fists make very little noise compared to swinging swords).
I love how shocked ruby is when she sees his fight and how it's going and realized how much qrow is pushing him self to his limit. I feel like it makes her see how big the problem really is and what little hope there is left in the after math of it all.
@@LightAndDarkMdness02 No if you go back to Qrow vs Winter (his only other long fight before this point) Qrow's theme was a remix of Red Like Roses and Winter had a remix of Mirror Mirror
Ruby could have prevented Qrow from getting poisoned if she had just taken the shot 1:35 Also for those who don't know what it's called the song that playes during the fight is called bad luck charm
I love everything about this fight. The first time I watched it when bad luck charm played and then ruby stepped in it was one of the most hype moments I've had in a while. I also love how the show is actually being realistic and that the main characters are thinking. Even though her uncle got hurt ruby stilled realized she could cut off tyrian's tail and I just love that scene so much.
I like how ruby went to go help her uncle, it's like in a shooter game where your best teammate goes to fight the most experienced player on the enemy team and you, the newbie, helps them
I think this is something they lost in the most recent volumes. Tyrian and Qrow in this fight is the right way to show the skill gap between the students and lifelong fighters
This season was still very much in line with Monty's original vision for the show. It was as the seasons went on that more of Miles and RT's change of view that dumbed down the show.
@@RoadWulf I refuse to get into another debate in a youtube comment section about this topic so I’m just gonna say Monty didn’t have much narrative vision beyond bullet points. M&K have done the narrative heavy lifting from vol. 1 to now.
@@ArtschoolboyySadly you're right. Even in Volume 1 there were significant problems, and I'm not talking about the animation. Jaune Arc I like, but why was he given a significant amount of screen time in Volume 1 for character development? His development was good but he's a side character. Tike that should've been used to develop our 4 main characters was given to a side character. My headcanon reason is because of Miles Luna voicing Jaune. Also Ruby's reason for becoming a huntress was hollow. It was played for wholesomness and funnies when it should've been a deep and serious moment. The song Red Like Roses pt2 imo provides a perfect motivation for Ruby.
I'm so mad at this in hindsight right now for the dumbest reasons! I used to write a RWBY fanfic series and the narrative I was always told by the community is that you need a weapon to use your Aura through. So Qrow punching Tyrian made 'sense' to them for that logic because he was 'using aura in his rings'. But he hits him with his left hand, which doesn't have any rings at all! Those losers just made that crap up and passed it off as gospel!!! What the crap?!?! Also, I'm just now realizing Ruby had her aura up the entire time! She would have been completely fine if the building fell on her, we've literally seen characters live through worst than that and she's got like 5 superpowerful Huntsmen right there outside of the fight that could have easily dug her out. The way this plays out actually doesn't even make sense with the power system the series sets up, Qrow should have warned her and then ordered her friends to help fish her out after getting Tyrian away from them. Still a cool fight, but holy crap...
im confused on where you got that idea, when they were explaining aura they literally showed ren using it on just his hands against the giant snake thing

And this STILL remains as the only line in the entire series with actual profanity in it.
“Bad luck charm” really fits this fight scene and really shows off why Qrow tries to stay away from other people like when ruby says it’s her fight too he says it’s not that, he just wants her to leave because of his semblance 10/10
And so Qrow is hot goth and lone wolf (well, crow) but not because he feels like it but because his Semblance fucking over everyone around him so when he fight alone its only enemies who got to suffer from bad luck and when there is allies friendly fire happens
I so fucking in love with such smart superpower concepts that enhance character's place in the story and their personality
The Mighty Pickle Rex maybe his senses are limited to a radius of 2 feet this is longer with is tail giving it a 4 feet radius given how he didn’t even need to look to perfectly predict and block the bullets fired at him
@@blaurghh you`re wrong, let me copy comment from another video by TheDisarminghinkle
:
>>I had to watch this fight several times and do research into scorpions to understand this fight, but I think I finally understand everything that happened.

LJK401 that can happen in real life actually. It's not that unheard of
Imperium Giopp Dumister I just find it weird Volume 1 Ruby Rose sounds more mature and less grating than Volume 4 Ruby Rose.

Burning-Fox I don't get it. Is the voice actress settling into her role? Shouldn't the voice mature a little bit then? Her voice itself is being flanderised.

I love watching Qrow shift into fist fight mode. You just know this isn't the first time he's had to put an old fashioned beat down on some punk. This fight also shows that he was at best humouring Winter during their S3 fight.
Who animated this fight? It's the best one in the volume.
They're getting there but they still don't have the same smoothness.
In most areas.
HartianX i agree, looks fake for some reason. But if they would just smooth some edges that would go away
UltraAnimaniac101 This fight made them look so weak. Idk if it was lack of experience or what?
I’ve always loved this fight, especially how surprised Tyrian was when Qrow punched him since he probably assumed Qrow was useless without Harbinger

Tyrian's face when he blocked Ruby's bullets tho

This has to be one of the best choreographed fights in any animated series, honestly if only it were a few moments longer I'd call it perfect. Great music, great setup,a little light comedy in it, we even get to see just how ridiculously fast they're going by seeing it from an outside perspective- making everything they do all the more impressive.
It's weird. Tyrian doesn't seem to attack when his opponent doesn't have a weapon.
I think it's a personal code of not attacking someone who's unarmed, cause he looks up and immediately attacks when qrow grabs his sword out of the wall.
I thought that too, but then again, Tyrian seems to get a huge thrill out of fighting so that could be it :P
AxelGriff72 maybe he enjoys the fight so he was gonna let qrow get his sword so they could continue the fight.
Maybe he doesn't have a very high pain tolerance

Them: RWBY is for kids
Me: *skips to **3:48*
I love that argument. Murders, cutting off limbs, racism, world where everything is trying to kill you are fine, but one time a guy curses and "OMG it's not for kids anymore!"
Zero the Faceless
The problem with RWBY is that while the world should look like that, it doesn't and half the time it's like the Grimm don't even exist. The common people aren't racist, and life just seems like a fantasy version of our world.
Go read something like Berserk and compare it RWBY's "post-apocalyptic world".
This is coming from someone who loves RWBY by the way, I just see so much missed potential that it pissed me off sometimes.

I just noticed Tyrions eyes turn Purple when he's injecting the venom, and then returns to that gold. Wow I wonder why i havent noticed that before.
Reminds me of the way Yang’s eyes turn red when she’s angry.
i was waiting to see him use his weapon in scythe stance, was i the only one?
Krypto Maniac same. Crazy to think he was still holding back
Hex Productionz using his scythe, as Ruby kept proving, would've put him at a huge disadvantage against someone who is an extremely agile close range fighter capable of closing distances quickly.
Qrow: "Don't come closer!"
Ruby: "Fine."
Also Ruby: "Crap he's too fast, better get closer."
This was literally the best thing in RWBY in my opinion, better than than all of the other fights, even the one at the end of Season 4, which, while I won't spoil it, was emotional and simply amazing.
What makes this fight even more amazing is that qrow wasn't even fighting at full strength. He was using a sword when his main weapon is a scythe.
Even though a sword beats a scythe in terms of weapon usability and functionality, especially in the real world.
This fight was really well done. Especially Qrow's sword throw and pose. However, I feel like they take extra keyframes to allow the characters to pose. Which makes the fight a little too sharp. Overall, this was truly well done. Almost like Monty's.
RWBY loves severing body parts. First, it was the Grimm. Then it was Yang's arm and Blake's Clone's head. Now it's Tyrian's tail.
Qrow Theres always BS semblances like IdK regeneration but look at yang now there is always hope for his stingers return.

Tommy Gilbert his ability is bad luck so it's a 50/59
50 I mean
ash18001 I'd say Qrow would of won cause that bad luck ability probably would give him the win
I doubt he'll die before he has a chance to go all out with his scythe
Qrow wouldn't have been injured if ruby didn't step in ;(
Well that's what happens when you have semblance that causes misfortune to everyone around you. Enemies and allies alike. Aka, the reason why Qrow didn't want the other to fight, or why he works alone so much or why his opponents are unlucky (Tyrian falling off the roof and losing his tail, Winter getting caught fighting by Ironwood).
FFK7Shade it seems to me that Ravens semblance is the opposite
Aaron Mackellar
Aka. indiscriminate good luck to everyone around them.
Xp
Couple of notes on the moments a bunch of people are theorizing about:
It's clear that Tyrian doesn't have scorpion senses when not fighting, but perhaps he does have those too alongside his human senses (which presumably become active when he fights, or it's just an artistic choice).
lets all agree that ruby done fucked up.
a lazy guy To be fair she was just watching Qrow having a hard time beating Tyrian and potentially die, also he never told her about his semblance so hes kinda at fault too.
1:23 is basically the reaction of most Karens these days when they are told 'NO'.
Love how the animation and its graphics have vastly improved
And several seasons later Qrow, for some astonishingly dumb reason, fights alongside this mad man and is shocked when he's betrayed.
Tyrian didn't fall through the roof because of bad luck. Qrow notices at 2:09 the board is already damaged.
Y'now, considering what I suspect about Tyrian, having his stinger being cut off is poetic justice for what happened to yang
Northern Cross Then will Tyrian get a robot stinger since yang got a robot arm?
if he doesn't die from blood loss after getting his tail cut off, maybe...
Or a grim stinger like Cinder's arm, but probably since Watz is the one making it
I loved that moment at 2:30! That was a #skills moment it really shows how badass Qrow is.
That is the part that I like to repeat.
It is simply epic, not only because of Qrow's mastery of getting up, but also because they both lost the aura barrier that protected them. You could clearly see that their fight was going VERY evenly.

@@zerocreed8031 You’re welcome!
Qrow carried volume 4 but they had to make him join the depressed squad
People say that Tyrian can only identify people if they're holding weapons but this theory doesn't remotely make sense when you consider the fact that Tyrian was able to interact with the waitress unless people consider aprons to be weapons.
My guess is that the reason as to why Qrow managed to punch Tyrian in the face is because Tyrian is bad at hand to hand combat. If not, he simply didn't expect Qrow to punch him at all.
George Will so does that mean yang would have an advantage vs him?
George Will or maybe he's blind and sees via vibrations in the ground like a Scorpion
Then he should have seen Qrow walking to his Sword. Can Qrow float now?
I think it's a mix of him not expecting Qrow to bother with the punching, and not expecting the punch to hurt as badly as it did.

If they were competent writers and fight designers this would have been an awesome rematch in Volume 7

Guns in this universe don’t do anything. Like everyone’s weapons turn into a gun and they shoot bullets but in actuality those bullets are spitballs.
espacially Rens, i legit think at this point they just make the sound of bullets and some flashes like toys.
The bullets are usually blocked by the weapon or aura.
2:30 coolest part of the whole fight in my opinion. that landing is so badass and skillful
2:28 みんな好きでしょここ 私は好き
2:30 no one taking about how smooth that is
No one is talking about it now because this was many years ago.
Vic plays Qrow aaah im so loving this series aaah xD
This is my favourite fight of them all so far, because of the swift movements, the expressions tyrian gives, and the coreogriphy in general.
2:35 that pose 🤤
These fight scenes keep getting better and better.
I really wanna see raven fight, also I wanna see Taiyang break out his weapon(s), like we see him open a chest in his room and saying something like "diddnt think is every need this(these) again and we see him slowly walk out of the house with the weapon(s) in hand
What do you think his weapon is and you may get both at once if he isn't happy about Raven turning up at his house
@@georgechampion1932 My guess? Yang's Ember Celica is a downscaled version of Tai's. His might be something closer to Katar/Pata gauntlet swords or some form of straight-up spiked Caesti
Can we talk about how the misdirected force of Qrow's strike in 0:17 slashed off a piece of a building!
