Thank you so much! This had been driving me for nuts for weeks and Oral B's website isn't that great for help. My teeth are pretty sensitive so the two modes it was stuck on was hurting my teeth!
This issue has been bothering me for a long time. I couldn't find a solution in the Chinese instructions or on the website, and customer service wasn’t much help-they just suggested sending it in for repair. Your video helped me figure out what was wrong! Thanks a lot! Also, the Oral-B app is really frustrating. I used one of its goals that was supposed to have two modes, but the app only enabled the standard mode and disabled the others. The app experience is pretty bad. Thanks again!
Thank you Incredibly valuable. I thought my toothbrush was broken. I was able to sort out in seconds- goodness only knows why there isnt anything on the Oral B site about this.
Hello Jon, Thank you for that Video. Once the journey is ended or disabled and you wish to change brushing modes (from the Default) do you just need to Wake up toothbrush? then use Mode button and Confirm or do you have to turn Power on first?
This video has been great and have set up husband tooth brush all sorted. But mine is not showing the whitening mode on app or brush it has just disappeared! I have googled but can’t seen to find an answer any ideas?
Your brush should have the whitening mode? Would seem odd for it to just disappear. If the stuff in this video doesn't work, the next option would be to reset it.
I have been noticing that my Dimond Clean Smart battery has been lasting less and less after a charge, it’s 2 and a half years old. I’ve went back to my Genius 8000 but I am thinking about purchasing an IO.
Batteries can deteriorate over time. Do you keep your Sonicare regularly charged or do you tend to run it down? The iO battery life is around 2 weeks so you might find your Sonicare still outperforms in this area despite being older.
Great video! I have a new 3767 handle but it only has 3 modes - daily clean, sensitive and whiten. I’ve tried all your suggestions on this video, nothing seems to add gum care or pro clean. Any other suggestions?
Annie. It depends on the model as to whether these modes are even available on your toothbrush. Do you know what Oral-B model you purchased, for example Smart X XXXX
@@ElectricTeeth thanks for the reply! It’s a Smart 4 4000. The manual that came in the box implies it should have the 5 modes, but perhaps it’s a generic manual for various models?
Hi! I just bought my oral b oi 6 tooth brush. I read on the manual and saw videos that there supposed to be a tongue cleaning mode but I don’t see it on my tooth brush. And in the app it ask if I cleaned my tongue. My sister has the same brush but I think hers is series 7 and the tongue cleaning mode appears on hers. Is it because the series is different? What can I do?
The iO6 does not have a tongue cleaning mode. The Series 7 doesn't either. Normally it is only the iO8 and 9 that have tongue cleaning modes. That said there are different versions of the iO6/7 where the modes offered might be different. The manuals are often used for multiple different brushes and don't always make it clear. You can use one of the other modes to brush your tongue with. Or have the brush turned off and just drag it across the tongue.
Hi I just got the Oral B brush and my partner has the same brush, but in my app I do not have an account and do not have access to the “coverage” function, it also doesn’t allow me to make an account or log into one. My partner is having no trouble with this on her end though. Could you help?
How do I make the cleaning modes locked in a non bluetooth model? I have oral b pro 3500 and it has these useless modes that I either have to cycle through with the on/off button or long press the on/off button to turn the brush on/off, which is incredibly frustrating and thumb wearing. It is also super inconvenient while rinsing the brush after washing your teeth.
I have a different issue on my Oral B io series 9, I can actually switch the modes but they are all the same; I remember the toothbrush being much more powerful, now seems like the motor is “capped” at some speed. All modes seems like “sensitive”, even the “intensive” one. Is it faulty?
I have the io series 5 here - what does long pressing the mode button do? I threw away the box and papers, but I was able to find the online pdf version. No mention of it there, either. Anyone know? I long-pressed it, it buzzed, but I have no idea what I did, lol.
What this has most likely done is reset the brush head replacement reminder. The system is designed to alert you when you need a new brush head. Usually every 3 months/90days. If you had been using the brush head for a month, it would have known this. You have now reset it, so it thinks it is a new head and will alert you in 3 months from the time the press was done.
Which brush are you using? Not all have a tongue cleaning mode. If it doesn't you can just clean the tongue by using one of the normal brushing modes and passing the brush head over the tongues surface.
Open the Oral B app pair your brush to the app. And then click on the sessions tab, and scroll and click on reset handle. Which will reset the brush handle back to it factory settings.
Adam, Assuming you have ended any journey within the app, I can only suggest uninstalling the app and resetting the toothbrush If this doesn't work you will need to speak to Oral-B.
My brush says some features are unavailable while traveling. It doesn't work at all. But it is connected to a Bluetooth application and when I press the power button it turns on but doesn't rotate. It is fully charged. How did I get into travel mode and how do I get out of it?
I am not aware of a travelling mode. I know the app can potentially not work in certain countries, but as far as I know the brush should still work. If you are not connected to the app, what happens?
I just used my oral b genius X for the first time and it will not allow me to change the modes SMH. In fact I don't know what mode it's on because everytime I press the button to change the mode the bluetooth light and the battery light just lights up instead of any of the modes. I brushed my teeth but it didn't stop at 2 mins, it's just kept going and after about 3mins & 30 seconds I turned it off. This is frustrating. I haven't even used the bluetooth app part so can that still be the problem?
Hey, so this is a brand new Genius X that you bought? It sounds a bit like the modes are locked, but if you haven't even used the app yet that is weird. Try connecting it and resetting the handle if you can, see if that fixes it. If not, I think a call to Oral-B is needed. The brush does not automatically turn itself off at the end of 2 minutes. This is the same for all Oral-B brushes, you have to turn it off manually.
@@ElectricTeeth I feel so slow. Im so used to using my Panasonic sonicare where I can only change the modes before I turn on the toothbrush but with the Oral B brush I can only change the modes only after I turn on the toothbrush 🤦🏿♀️ I didn't know thay oral b didn't turn off after two minutes. Thanks for the help.
I’m sorry, but that has to be the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard. These are our teeth and our health. We paid hundreds of dollars and they are playing a game with us? Nah.
Thank you for your very thorough and well explained solution. I was able to fix in seconds what had been frustrating me for so long. Thank you.
Thank you for explaining what the company customer care team missed,
You are most welcom.
Thank you so much for the video! They should really make it more clear or just let you use all modes but suggest you not while on a specific journey.
Thank you! I just bought my new and expensive brush and thought I’d broken it already! Cheers
This was so helpful! Been trying to figure out why I couldn't change the modes. Glad I saw this the first time and not weeks later
samee I thought I broke my brush on the first day lol
Me too, thanks for this vid!
Me too guys thanks a lot!!! In first day I thought it went something wrong! It's because we have began a journey!
Thank you for this!! Couldn’t find ANYTHING online to fix this until now.

I was about to return mine to Amazon when I came across your article - problem solved - many thanks...
Glad to have helped Nigel.

I had to explore the app myself but this confirms what I have found. Thanks for sharing this.
I ended the journey, had to fix my features through the app I finally figures it out. It took a half hour glad it's done.
Thanks so much for your video! I was so frustrated with my toothbrush but all it was is my settings got changed ha! So simple ! Thank you!

Glad I caught this video before sending it back! 🤦♂️ Thought I dropped all that cash on a Series 10 just to get a "two-mode wonder" lol

It depends on the model. But if your brush has a mode button to be able to change the mode ahead of powering it on, then yes.
Thank you, very helpful.
THANK YOU I set up "Gum Health" journey on my io 5, and subsequently was not able to change the modes. Thought I had a faulty device.
Thanks for this video!!
Thank you! So helpful and saved me have to contact Oral B.
Glad I could help Richard.
Very helpful couldn’t manage now is sorted
Thanks for the tip regarding the unlocking of the other features. It is really not explicitly explained how it works.
