I think the music doesn’t fit because players would have an idea of what’s about to go down, this moment was so amazing on the first playthrough because we had zero idea John was gonna die, it seemed everything was going so well and this hits us in the face like a brick… true subtlety can go a long way
@@fernandom.varela1109 I think it would've been better if you played the music right after John collapses to the ground or at least when he falls to his knees. That way you keep the shock of his death intact while still using the song in a fitting way with the *"Guess I got, what I deserved"* line.
The song with John's demise here gives it a more heroic and inspiring context than a *"satisfaction with little well done in a life of wrong"* feel that Walt's or the edits with Arthur's death have. I would've had it play tho after John collapses to the ground (mirroring BrBa) or after the initial shock of John getting shot and falling to his knees.
That was such a heartbreaking moment! But I think the scene where Arthur said "you did it Micah, you survived this gang and even myself. Now I'm gonna find peace at my deathbed... You could say this is my Red Dead Redemption 2"
Yeah, I made this video after watching Breaking Bad's finale and I thought: "hey, this reminds me of something" and then I just put the pieces together.
@@spider-manunknown9193 I disagree, I think it fits very well. If anything, I think his death is more similar to Breaking Bad's ending with him going out redeeming himself while knowing he got what he deserved.
"Guess I got what I deserved Kept you waiting there too long, my love All that time, without a word Did you really think that I'd forget And regret The special love I have for you My baby blue" It's like it's describing John.
when I first beat the game, I knew it was the ending when I saw multiple soldiers with guns outside through the crack of the barn door. Very sad ending.
Very sad indeed. I thought I could kill them all, like I have been doing up until that point. Definitely the game knows how to play with the player's feelings
For years I've wondered why the name of the game was read dead redemption. Now I realized it. John redeemed himself, died and ended up completely red cause of blood loss.
Yup, it's a curious change, because in red dead revolver, it's more like "red's revolver kills a lot of people", and then we have these deep meaning names that we won't catch at the first time
The crazy thing about the ending is that it was so unexpected especially with the army lighting up john like a Christmas tree, i thought he would surrender and get hanged in Blackwater 😢
@@W_Coruix That's exactly it. A lot of people still think John's fate was a matter of *"if only he could do this or if he shot them faster"* no John went out there meaning to sacrifice himself so his family is left alone.
@@jpiny4854 That's true, I suppose what really pisses me off is when John actually shoots someone, I prefer to have him try to aim for everyone only for him to die without even killing one of them, gives it a bit more drama I suppose.
I didn't like the rdr ending, I think it would be better when John got shot he said "My wounds are red just like my heart, unlike your heart Ross, yours is black. And then with tears in his eyes, Ross says "John. Being a Black Alive Damnation is better than being Red and Dead. Finish him boys" But before the army can fire a shot, Charles and Sadie from rdr2 come back and kill everyone. Then they pick up John and Ross says "How is this possible?" And john replies "I don't know but, we are the Red Dead Redemption, and you are done." Then they kill Ross and they take John to a doctor and they all live happily ever after
It's difficult. I like Arthur because I played rdr2 and I know what he went through. But John has gone for a different but yet similar kind of pain; having to hunt down some old friends in order to get your family back. But, I personally like Arthur more.
@@fernandom.varela1109 Yeah, both had pretty compelling stories but I would also say Arthur because he literally gave all he had to make sure John could escape with his family.
