Real easyjet pilot here. Another thing to add is the fact that improves go around performance, as you already have the necessary energy, speed, and flaps in an upper position. We all know we can go around with flaps 3, so if that's already in, it's much easier (don't forget the fact you still have to retract to go around flaps, so in the case of a flaps 3 landing it would be flaps 2). Hope it's not confusing
Great explanation thank you. I would really like to request that you do topic specific video to explaine the landing phase specifically. I have no idea when you are supposed to start slowing down, activate the approach phase, which flaps when, gear down etc. I tend to just eyeball it and sometimes end up in landing config way too far out. I have a real world Private Pilot License and have also been flying jets since FS98, but this is something I have no solid understanding off. All other flight phases are organic and progress naturally.
Interesting! Flaps 3 and more speed increases control surface inputs = good for bad weather. But doesn’t it mean more severe bumps given the higher approach speeds?
The A320 doesn't have break to vacate, but at some airports the thrust reduction settings are also for getting off the runway at certain intersections quicker. Like for transavia planes at Schiphol (eham) landing at 36R when the parking gates are in the fork a lot of times, then they use medium autobrake inst of low or idle just not to rollout too far
what sensitivities do you use? the one you used for the older version or something new? and do you recomend putting the throttle to idle at 30ft as in the video?
Due to barely flaring in the flap 3 config i always find myself landing pretty hard, makes me go ouch every time. while in config full i don't have trouble making it a smooth touchdown, sometimes i even float a bit. any tips for landing less firmly with flap 3?
Same here. It's a wincing experience, especially if you use fsrealistic camera shake and buttkicker like me. It makes check my office chair wheels after landing.
What wind direction should be entered in EFB for the calculation of Landing Performance, and in the MCDU in APP data, if the direction according to the METAR is Variable VRB?
I absolutely hate the new ground handling. For some reason, even when I disable it, when I land my tiller is enabled so I therefore drift everywhere, it’s like the 320 has no anti-skid!!
Great video thanks. Would you consider doing a video tutorial on the FBW MCDU showing how to change the arrival runway and STAR while enroute when ATC change the arrival on you?
Can anyone please tell where l can find the various speeds for the A 320? I know they will change according to loading and conditions etc just a rough idea for now.😊
Fenix devs need to definitely fix the sound issue. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have the impression that an open window in the cockpit does not change the ambient noise.
for me the plane complains that I did not configure it correct since I don't have flaps full. I changed it in the approach settings but that didn't help?
Because it is seen in N1 and N2 of the engine and in the new version by default it is not seen the N1-N2 but I think it was the engine pressure, much more comfortable with N1-N2
If you mean FS2Crew is not working after the update, I have found it works fine. There were some FS2Crew updates recently (before Fenix update) so maybe be worth checking you have it?
my fenix a320 has been super buggy after the update chief among which is upon touchdown the "retard" alarm just wont turn off, it just keeps looping forever, even when i kill all power to the plane
I find the a320 difficult to land since block2. What I mean is, I can land nice and soft but it’s hard to get and keep it on center line. I know the physics have changed in this update. With version 1 I could land so smooth. I feel like I have to relearn how to fly with block 2. Has taken joy out of flying this bird. I’m also not a fan of the way it flares now
Like don’t get me wrong, I think the a320 has improved and performance wise it’s not so heavy any more but the landings and rudder handling frustrate me. For that reason I love flying the pmdg 737 more.
They seriously need to get a major rework done on the ground handling. At high speeds it just drifts all over the place, sliding left and right with a very delayed reaction from the aircraft. Feels like I’m rolling on ice. How can 2 rubber tyres supporting 10 tonnes or so of weight each have almost no purchase on dry, hard asphalt specially designed to enhance grip? Completely ruins the takeoff roll.
@@iaexo yeah and especially if I set the sensitivity the way Fenix recommends, no way!!!! I have spent the weekend playing and flying circuits to try to figure this out. I can get one or 2 precise landings but before the update I was nailing right down the center.
@@iaexoi am not using their recommended settings for rudder.. i am using twist axis on my joystick and with their settings it is impossible to maintain centerline.. Not at all, very similar to base training after standing the thrust levers up, you're then taking off with the extra energy and Conf 2 👍
Agree😊

just 0 is fine

Changing the STAR en-route is done the same way as you would do on the ground 👍

Correct.

It only looks like it's diving because you're looking at a 2D view. Irl you can feel the pitch and you have a wider perspective.

That's called being ground shy. A very common thing among new pilots.
