HELP ME NAME THE FLOWERHORN!
I'm thinking THANOS. What do you think?
Name him daniru
Hahaha you want him to be named after you?
Exactly
Name it: smash!
Asri ismail oooooo thats a rly good name! He would become the mascot of the channel!!
I think the blood parrots are breeding and layed eggs in the cave, that why the barbs go to them (try to eat the eggs). Which is also why the parrots attack them away. Great video keep it up!
Seems like it! (Thats what everyone is saying). Thank you for input 😁
I think so too
can i keep green barbs with floerhorn?..
That’s mint dude 🙌
And here, we witnessed the makings of the king.
My blood parrots did that when they was trying to lay eggs. I would make sure of that
I absolutely love the flower horn 😍
Hehehe. He's gonna be a star!
i recognize this tank from reddit! i love it dude this is such a crazy setup.
Hahaha didnt realize my tank was on reddit
0:34 congrats thats some breeding activity indeed
Thank you man!!
Nice fish 😎👍
U have such a nice Flowerhorn please keep in individual tank so he can grow and show the best color out of it .
Will consider it
Ain’t nothing wrong with the tank it’s in at the moment son
Congrats on achieving 3k Sub.
The Flowehorn was an impromptu purchase indeed (almost became a $28 sashimi for the turtle)
Great job and content 👍
Thank you! And yes almost become sashimi 🤣🤣🤣
Keep grinding hard man! The amount of aquarist in Singapore that makes RUclips video is very little so it’s amazing that you are making these contents,👍👍👍
Thanks man, I will. I love this hobby and it has a special meaning for me so I hope to contribute where I can, be as involved as I can, share this hobby and keep it interesting. Thanks for supporting 💪💪💪
Congrats on the 1k bro. And wow don't ever see a flower horn in a tank like yours, awesome community you got going, really hope it works out long term.
Thanks bro! Im all about pushing boundaries 🤣
I have 2 srd flowerhorns in a tank with 16 peacock cichlids and I've had no problems
The both flowerhorns are okay. I rarely find these facts abt 2 fh in one tank
3 Oscars, bala shark, 3 catfish, pleco, and flowerhorn is my combination.
Nice video! I've subscribed. Waiting for the tour video of the awesome fish store!
The store tour video is out! Its 2 videos before this one. More store tours and other content to come in the future :)
Always supporting you man keep up the good work
Thank you for all the support 💙
I know the video has 3 years but only one questions.. whats de specie of those tiger barbs? I think i know them but only see smaller...
Interested to see how long that lasted... It's been 4 years... No chance that fish is still alive right?
Omg I wanna Buy Your Clown Loach So Badly!!
😂😂😂 my biggest loach has really unique pattern to him. That extra block dot makes him look good!!
My tank consists of 1 flowerhorn 2 silver Aros, 3 African cichlids, 2 oscar , 1 channa putra, 1 fahaka puffer, 2 tfb , 1 common pleco and 7 baby IT . Wasn’t easy but successful comm . Don’t give up !
WOAH. Crazy combination!!! Especially with the fahaka puffer. I Would love to see it!
Still can’t beat yours. But thank you for the compliment sir . Shall pm at your fb with a short clip of my tanks.
Both of ours crazy lah. We be crazy combi buddies hahahaha
SG Bearded Aquarist 😂😂😂😂 crazy Comm buddies
Brilliant!!
Thank you!
How did you get those cichlids to get along with those barbs and a turtle?
Tiger barbs don’t bite gourami fins?
What’s the update to the aquarium bro? I’m trying to do something very similar. Did anyone die? Did you remove anyone? Thanks man.
Will tiger barbs fight with other breed tiger barbs.
Owning that tank would stress me out!
It stressed me out too. And ive seen made changes because of that haha
just found your channel, awesome
Wow jamaica! Welcome!! 😁
I how get them parrot fish out of that tank
In one of my tanks I added a flowerhorn the tank had two Green terror’s and a salvini Cichlid and the flowerhorn became the tank Boss Instantly can some help me understand
What are all their sizes when you added the flowerhorn in?
The are all Juveniles
how many gallons is that fish tank?
U you have a wide variety of fish with the Flowerhorn which usually home only alone
I always injoy your videos
Thank you! 😁 have a great day ahead!!
That white fish, is that a convict cichlid?
Yes it is. Apparently its a short body pink convict. Goes by the common name jellybean convict.
@@SGBeardedAquarist thanks so much
One of the best fishtank on you tube 👏 some say overcrowded I say perfect ps 28dollars ! I paid 150 for my flowerhorn in nyc I hate the city 😒
Chill video buddy
Thank you. Hope you enjoyed it!
Congrats bro keep doing lots of love from India loved ur aquarium
Thank you! Feeling the love all the way over here
What kind of turtle is this?
Hi Ashly, I so much enjoy your videos! Why are you no longer posting new videos?
i too enjoyed his videos. Too sad he has not posted anything lately.
Beautiful flowerhorn there bro..I hope his fins get better soon.
Thanks bro! Yeah his fins are getting better ;)
Glad he is getting better..
My salvini cichlid is attacking my red eared slider for territory. Plz tell me is it danger for my turtle
No danger
I can't do that with my $400 dollars flowerhorn bro lol
Which is the white fish in there???
Many say its a short bodied pink convixt. Some say its a parrot fish. I think its a parrot.
What going on with his top fin?
Fh. Definitely better off by themselves but I have a turtle living with a big comet goldfish and African catfish
Tank size
Congrats on 1k! Flowerhorn name Hercules! He’s a survivor haha
Thanks Ryan! I think you have a natural talent for naming fishes!!
Hey! After watching this video im having a doubt in my setup. Im having 6 gaint parrots and one green terror and one small thai silk FH. Whether can i add medium sized FH fish in to that tank. My tank is 3ft one.
Ur flowerhorn is awesome u should keep it in a separate so it doesn’t get stressed and doesn’t attack any other fish
Thank you! Ive since made changes to the tank that has removed the stress and his colors are looking so much better. He doesnt get aggressive to the other fishes! :)
Long beach cali here
Helloooo. I'll need to visit your area one day :) hows the aquarium scene there?
Saw you at Xtremefish Hobbyist. Friendly guy
Did we speak?
Yup I and my Brother came up to u . And said we subscribed to your channel and Encourage you to don’t stop what u are doing. We support you.
Oh yes! I remember. I was thinking thats you, just cant tell cause theres no pic on RUclips. Thanks so much for the encouragement and support bro!
You Should Name The Flowerhorn Thanos
Gosh im so torn between all the other names others have commented!!
awesome tank. I am getting a parrot soon. Saw one at the petstore and feel in love so I am planning tankmates and my set up. Unfortunately I dont have much room for a big tank, for now anyway so starting with a 30 gallon. Do they do okay alone without any other large fish since I dont have much room, and what are the striped catfish looking fish? i'm thinking about tigerbarbs and, maybe a peapuffer or some small tetras. Do you think those would be good tankmates? I love the bigeyes on the baby parrot I saw at petco and the big peapuffer eyes! I think I might start a coral reef tank as well If I do okay with the freshwater one. I have a single betta tank now and only for a week but that lil fish got me addicted! lol
Hey richard! A blood parrot will do just fine alone. The stiped fish i think you're referring to the clown loaches. They school well with tiger barbs. Ill caution against peapuffers and tetras because they will likely become a snack for the blood parrot. Finally..... welcome to the addiction, this is only the beginning 😂
@@SGBeardedAquaristThanks so much for replying, My name is Karen, Rich's wife. Got to get my own account but anyway I have been online watching youtubes and researching fish since I basically stole the beta from my daughters friend that I was fish sitting! lol Poor thing was in a tiny bowl and freezing with not one thing in t! so I went to petco for aquarium and of all the fish the one I feel for was that parrotfish. It came right up to and just stared at me with those big eyes! I love the big eyes on the peapuffer to so maybe I will just get another small counter top tank for some of them sometime soon, cause I need some...lol Thanks so much for replying
is the top fin going to re-grow on the luo han...??
Hi 👋 SG Bearded Aquarist.I am your 1810 subscribers, from Philippines 🇵🇭😊
Hoping one of these days you’ll make a video about Discus..
Welcome to the family! Will definitely consider doing that!
Nice FH bro! Thanos will soon be King of that tank. Tell your turtle he “should’ve aimed for the head (kok) lol the parrots might be spawning, check the cave. Also good job on upgrading the filtration and taking precautions. I believe FHs can be kept with other fishes not all are crazy! I can say that from experience also the loaches and barbs act as dither fish. But all in all we can’t wait for the tank upgrade you will go bigger at some point,it’s inevitable 😎 #BeardGang
Omg that shouldve aimed for the head is so apt in this situation!! Hahaha good one! And thanks bro! I can't wait to upgrade too it would be sooooo epic. #BeardGang!
It’s called spawning
seems like you have to think of an idea for 10 or 5 thousand cause you are growing fast man!
Yeah ideas are brewing in my head. I dont know if i can make it happen but if i can, it will be EPIC. Can't say it until I can confirm it. Dont want to let anyone down!
My flowerhorn is named Doomsday
Name is very apt!
100% spawning :) make a bigger cave for them :)
They do have a bigger cave but they seem to wanna squeeze into this one 🤷🏻♂️😅
Name the flower horn NEON cause of its beautiful colours.
He definitely deserves that eh. His colors are even prettier now as I manage aggression of the parrots and he gets comfortable.
I have a similar looking flowerhorn but it's flowers look like 101010 so I named him/her Neo
Looks like you need a new tank soon. 😆
Thats how i feel everyday of my life! Maybe if i can grow this channel big enough i can justify to my family the need for more tanks 🤣 muahahaha
Hi bro great video.
I think ur parrotfish are breeding/spawning. Usually they are infertile. U should check under ur rocks.. maybe there are eggs.. maybe ur Flowerhorn can fertilize the egg 🤔
Congrats on 1K sub bro 💪🏾💪🏾
Hey bro! Thank you. Thought of you when getting my flowerhorn cause i know you like FHs. Oh yeah I should probably check. Completely didnt think about flowerhorn and blood parrot mating possibility too.
Hey bro thanos would be a great name for your flowerhorn cos his kinda purple too 😂
Exactly what I was thinking bro!! 🤣
Tank is overcrowded.
The world too.
Bro , the flowerhorn is in stress ,you can see black stress marks .Flowerhorn are very sensitive and becomes stress soon. I would suggest get a separate or bigger tank soon . Trust me you will see his real beauty . Don’t mind but tank looks crowded . It’s blood parrot team up making him stress rather then Tom the turtle . I still suggest get 120 gallon plus tank if you can . Or at least 100 gallon. The more wider the better. But still kudos to you it’s not a massacre 😂 . My flowerhorn would have killed all or died trying . Still it’s good to see you check up on your tank every day .
Thanls for the input bro! Yeah the blood parrots are stressing him out. Im really hoping that as the flowerhorn gets more comfy and even adds some size that he'll establish himself and the chasing will go away. So far its been improving but its still there. Upgrading is hard as of now until the turtle gets bigger so I've to really work with what i have for now.
SG Bearded Aquarist thanks for always replying . No pressure on upgrade , take your time . Btw for the price you got Flowerhorn is amazing . The shop owner is chilled dude . Wish we had owners like him here .
Its my pleasure bro I appreciate your comments always! 😁 and yes the price for the flowerhorn is CRAZY good. Where are you located?
SG Bearded Aquarist India
My salvini cichlid killed my flowerhorn and ate 15 tiger barbs 😔
I think They have eggs in The cave
Seems to be the consensus. So cool. Thanks for the input!
Frank
I think the red parrot laying eggs.
It seems so. Thats what everyone is saying!
Let me be honest, if you can't make the fish happy, then don't keep them, you are just torturing them for you own satisfaction. Don't you think that tank is overcrowded? I don't get your logic. You mention in your replies that you are learning, etc. But this isn't about learning, you just don't do this kind of stuff. What motivated you from putting that flowerhorn into the tank in the first place? 2 blood parrots need a big tank dude and obviously that flowerhorn along with many other fish don't belong in that lone tank.
Thank you for the honest opinion. Merry Christmas
What type of fish is the white one at 12:56?
Its known as a jellybean convict. Its a short bodied pink convict cichlid.
As you say... Very Beautiful!! Good stuff.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
I named my George
There spawning, the other fish are eating the infertile eggs.love the tank, i like tanks that spark my imagination an i get that feom your tank
Thank you for clarifying! I've been so puzzled every time I see it. I hope to continually push boundaries in this hobby 😁 what tanks/fishes do you keep?
@@SGBeardedAquarist ive been in the hobby almost 4 decades now ive kept about eveeything you can thank of freshwater an salt. Iam a MFK member ,i keep big predatory freshwater fish. I have one 225 gallon an a 500 gallon. I have giant grami, arrawana, asain shovel nose, asain an south american redtail catfish peacock bass, datnoids an iam sure iam missing a few of my current roster.
Wow! If you are in singapore i would love to come down and see and maybe even film but im guessing you're located elsewhere?
@@SGBeardedAquarist ya iam in the states portland ,Oregon brotha ,i wish Singapore, one day ill.make it there. If your ever out here your more than welcome to come threw an check out my facility.
Will put this down on my map! Who knows maybe one day. Hope you come check singapore out :)
Can you do a update video great video
Already did! Do check it out. And still more updates to come in the future :)
Parrots behaviour is normal when breeding. But unfortunatly parrots eggs mostly will be infertile.
Thank you for clarifying!! Ive been so puzzled every time it happens.
It would help alot if you remove one blood parrot
Yeah only 1 of the blood parrots is chasing the flowerhorn. Probably the male. Cant bear to give either of them up tho.
What kind of substrate are you using??
Just normal aquarium sand :)
I original put gravel but the turtle started eating it and I realied its high risk keeping gravel with turtles. High probability of impaction. Removing every last grain of gravel was a pain!!!
I plan on getting a 50 gallon aquarium with just a Flowerhorn only, does it matter the type of substrate to use? either pea gravel or sand???
Wow bro! nice flowerhorn.
Thanks Jzby!
Guys im planning to made community tank for 100 galon any reccomendation what fish should i put there??
200 rummy nose tetras lets go!!!
I can raise together an Oscar and a flowerhorn both less than 9cm
Tank size?
Its a 50 gallon. Will be upgrading.
Tanks too small, and that's why the flowerhorn got bullied at first. Thankfully the turtle and blood parrots got bored of him.
I have a Flowerhorn in a 125 with African Cichlids with zero issues. Well see though once they get bigger.
You may ended up with dead fish, nice tank though. Is this in Singapore ?
Certainly a possibility. Always on the lookout.
Thanks. Yeap im located in singapore, what about you?
Cool I’m in the state, you guys got more varieties than we do especially Asian aro, bummer
Yeah we have tons of farms and aquariums in our tiny little country because the weather is perfect for fish keeping. And yeah heard you guys cant keep asian aros....
I love Asia, especially for the hobby 👍
Poor gourami
Indeed
He is stressed out
the tortule will fuke all this tank
Louhan full of personality...try not to put your louhan in a tank with driftwood.
Yes i think ill need to remove the driftwood when he gets bigger. For now it seems to be ok. More concerned about the egg crate for the basking area ramp but cant think of a way to solve that.
Or name it FIGHTER cause he does not give up to the other fishes that fought him
Sounds like a name he earned!
@@SGBeardedAquarist so are you going to use this name?!!? ☺
There are so many good names i cant decide!! 😅 i feel like i need to buy another 5 flowerhorns just to take on all the good names hahahaha
Please use this name thank you
Ya lol
Sorry to say this .... But you have to research about the fishes and then get them ..... And fishes living condition is bad ..... Too crowded .... And some of the fishes are not community tank fishes .....
Well hello there. Ive been waiting for a comment like yours!
1. Don't ever be sorry to say something. We all have our opinions.
2. Did you watch the entire video? I addressed your points.
3. Lets assume you did, why do you claim the living condition is bad (too crowded)? Did you base that on what youve read on the internet, your gut feeling or on the condition of my fishes.
4. Yes I agree that some of the fishes in here are not deemed by the common consensus to be fishes suited for community tanks. I also know these are not rules, these are guides. These are starting points for beginners or people who don't want any risk. Fishes are living things with their own agency. None of them are community tank fishes. None of them are fish tank fishes in fact. Realize that when they receive a label, it is not inherent in them, it is something the industry decided to give them for general usage. Ie. It holds true most of the time. So take it for what it is: a guide for someone starting out, not a doctrine to tell someone who is able to do it that he shouldnt.
Anyway, appreciate your comment and concern.
Wow you live in a bungalow in Singapore?! Man, good to be loaded ❤️
This isn't a bungalow and I'm not loaded. I am fortunate to be able to live a comfortable life! 😀
You should go to Fresh and Marine to get fish there too.Its located at 81 MacPherson lane. The fishes there are cool especially guppies.Keep up the good work
Oh yes I've been meaning to head down to Fresh n Marine for a long time now. Thank you!
Umm...
Red eared sliders need to get out of water!
Yes they do. I have built a DIY basking area. Always been there. With a light supplying uva and uvb. Watch the whole video. The diy basking area is revealed somewhere in there.
Its an above tank basking area - probably why thought there isnt one.
@@SGBeardedAquarist
Oops!
Good then.
@@SGBeardedAquarist
Ok that is fine.
Your flowerhorn is in super stress move him to separate tank you will start Insane changes in his body kok and colour
I've since made changes to the tank and remove the main stress factors. His colors have changed so much and he's looking crazy now!
🤦🏻♂️
Ruddy
Ruddy sounds like a reqlly friendly chap.
The tank is too small. Upgrads into a bigger one, put your turtls into a pond
I have addressed this in the video. Assuming you've watched it and still feel this way, I encourage you to elaborate on why you feel the tank is too small.
@@SGBeardedAquarist its small for all of them those are monster fish and at the same time the turtle is in there
Yes I understand your opinion. I would like to understand the basis on which you formed it (The water parameters are off? The fishes are depressed? My turtle is unhealthy? Etc)
Remove the turtle
Turtle stays.
This dude 🤦🏽♂️ ... Wonder if he'd like to be thrown in a cage with a wild dog and a baby grizzly 🤔
That's my dream.
@@SGBeardedAquarist, you tried before with that Golden Saum ... Clearly didn't learn, so you repeated the same stupid ... Like they say, no cure right 🤷🏽♂️ ... 😁
Ah yes. Your brilliance and intelligence is glaring in your logic. A failure in golden saum but success in blood parrots, tiger barbs, convict cichlids, clown loaches, rainbow sharks, danios, giant danios, plecos, honey gouramis, gouramis would lead to the logical conclusion that a flowerhorn would be unsuccessful. Very sound logic you have there my friend. But hey, let's top that of by calling others stupid because it's not enough that you have the most sound logical derivation in history.
For you info, the flowerhorn in thriving now and it's more than a year later. The colours are popping, the nuchal hump is huge and it has bred with the blood parrot several times IN that tank. I'm growing out the fry separately.
So by all means, keep that attitude up.
@@SGBeardedAquarist, pretty non-intelligent way to justify hurting a fish for views ... but hey, again ... no cure right 🤷🏽♂️ ... 😁
Ah yes. The difference between me and you is that when I attack your intelligence, I do it by pointing out your logical fallacy. You do it by just saying "non-intelligent". Fyi, I'm not justifying hurting that fish. I'm justifying your stupidity.
You want justification for hurting the fish? Think of all the information you ever read about how to keep fish in an aquarium. How do you think they came about? You think the pioneers had aquarium.info to read or was it through trial and error? They recommend not keeping 2 male flowerhorns in the same tank. Why? You think when the breeders hybridized a flowerhorn it came with an instruction manual that said you can't do so? You ever seen gouramis sold at your fish shop? Well let me tell you that mankind have sacrificed many gouramis in the past to make that happen. They always died in shipping because the conventional storage method back then didnt allow these labrynith fish to breathe. Did they fail once and say nope, not possible? Nah they tried again and again until they found out why.
So as far as keeping fish with turtles, look it up on the internet. Few resources are available and I'm actually one of the biggest resource. So I'm not only trying, I'm sharing the results or lack thereof with the community so that one day with enough data, people can make informed choices.
Now, does that justify the hurt it caused to that one or two fish? Under utalitarian ethics, it is the rational and moral option. For without available info, hundreds and thousands more will suffer that fate. But is it universally justifiable? Theres no such thing. Justifiability is largely individual. So it's up to you. If it's a question of morality that you subscribe to, its personal choice. I couldnt care less what you think. If it's a question of ignorance, please wisen up.
