I have had the same helmet for about 2 years now, no issues at all. I will probably buy another. Super light and comfortable. Thanks for the review Mitch.
Been looking at this helmet to replace my Leatt Enduro 3.0 that I crashed hard in and need to replace (even though the helmet itself looks unscathed, I got a mild concussion from the impact). I'm between this, the Kali invader 2.0, another Leatt 3.0 enduro, Fox proframe RS, and the Bluegrass Vanguard Core MIPS. Have the IXS and Kali both arriving soon to test fit. I'm a motorcycle guy too so even though i'm just trail riding, I'm finding I'm getting more and more into the sport and willing to push myself more so a good full face with real impact protection is just a must for me. Really liked your review. I'm hoping the IXs fits my head shape well. If it does I think it's gonna be the winner for me.
I think it’s a solid choice! Packs a lot of features into a good looking helmet. I always found mine very comfortable so hopefully it’s a good fit for you 👌 Thanks for watching!
@@raczykorder online and wear it at home for 30-60 min. If it doesn’t fit or you get hot spots just return it. You may have to cover shipping but totally worth it to get the right fit on a big investment. Some places like Amazon may offer free returns. I ended up with the Fox proframe though the IXS also fit me well.
Try the Dainese Linea 01 2 seasons, starting my 3rd and it works great for every scenerio. Breaths/vents well , evenin the 90s Lightest on the market, 570gram, DH rated and about 190 shipped pendinf color. Another one I've been looking at is the Limar Livigno, 590grams, less vents, but theyre allot larger Can also get for about 190 shipped too pending color. For something interesting in the mid be weight segment750-790 grams which js for dh and Ebike/dutch rated is the Bluegrass Vanguard Core...think its around 250+ though
I ended up selling the replacement one! Just looking to get some experience trying something different. I’ve been using my half shell for the moment until I can make a decision about which full face helmet I want to try
The best flat spot I’ve found for a traditional stick on GoPro mount is directly on top of the helmet. With all the ventilation ports it’s tricky to find a big enough flat spot under the visor or on the chin. If you look closely in the video, I have a mount from Motoradds that I stick under the visor. There are also some good aftermarket chin mounts out there that work well.
Would you say the sizing is true to its size or would you have anything to comment on it? I´m about to order one, but I´m just at the borderline between two sizes.
Yes dial adjuster makes it pretty flexible between two sizes. I’m typically a size large. The M/L size was great for me and I still had a few spare clicks to open up wider if I needed to, but I could tighten it down to fit my wife’s head if needed (she’s usually a size medium helmet).
@@Sverigac did the S/M work out fine? Or should you have bought a M/L? I have a 58cm head so about the same as you, wich makes me curious about your experience
@@JR_Racing actually the S/M worked out just fine, even have a bit of margin there. The only thing is, the cheek pads are a bit tight. First, I almost opted out this model, because I felt like I couldn´t bear the pressure on my jaw muscles, but then when riding and after some time, it gave in a bit. But sometimes I feel it more, sometimes less. Pity that the replacement pads are thicker rather than thinner. ANd I´ve encountered the same issue with the paint as described in the review. So far it hasn´t been bothering me much. But overall, I´m happy with my choice, the fitting system and padding are awesome.
It definitely could. I think most bmx helmets are more Moto-style and don’t have as much ventilation. But this helmet has DH rated protection so it should be plenty protective
This was so brutal. You basically said: "the helmet is bad because I'm negligent." except for the part where you said the paint or the protection cover runs off. Not a bad helmet just a bad owner tbh. if you wouldn't do everything so aggressively you wouldn't need to put no screws in your helmet.
No where in the review did I say the helmet is bad. It’s a fantastic helmet and served me well in many ways, and IXS customer service was awesome. Just trying to bring to light some real issues that I experienced for others considering the helmet. I don’t think the adjustable dial should completely strip out from simply trying to loosen or tighten it. Same for the cheek pads. Just trying to remove them for cleaning caused the inner snaps to rip out of the mould. I care for my gear more meticulously than most and in no way was “negligent” with this helmet.
@@MediocreMitchMTB and that what makes it a good review..theres usually little minor tidbits that most reviewers don't mention. Thanks for sharing your experience! It is a great helmet. Glad to hear you haven’t had any issues 👍

Nice review, but music is too loud compared to voice.
Thanks for the feedback 👍
I really wanted this helmet, but due to stock issues in the UK i ended going for the Bell Super Air R
Did you keep it in the end?

Magnetic buckle, dial fit adjust, and tons of vents... Why don't they all have these features? No brainer brain saver.
So true. My new helmet is the 7iDP project 23 carbon. It’s well ventilated and has a magnetic buckle but man I miss the dial fit adjustment
